Dr Demetrice Morrison, founder of a non-profit organization that was set up in the aftermath of a hurricane. She learned that her neighbor had no food, so they started collecting food in different areas. They set up temporary shelters for children, and on Friday afternoons, before the children left school, they began to discreetly pack healthy, non-perishable food in a backpack so that they would have enough to eat over the weekend. — Jose Soto from State Farm talks about the toy and clothing drive they organize to give back to the community. Jocelyn Noya Quintana from the Miami Foundation. Their goal is to create a community where everyone can thrive, where people feel empowered and want to make a difference. Whatever problem the community faces, they want to be part of the solution, working with leaders, non-profits, businesses and governments in our cities to collaborate. — Edward William of New Beginning Community Outreach a non-profit organization geared to help feed the homeless and needy and help veterans find homes.
Jennifer Wescott from Meals on Wheels. They serve elderly neighbors by providing nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks right in their homes, delivered by more than 300 volunteers. — Michael Pozo, a graduate of The Caring Place. He was homeless and ill for three years. He found the Mission where his life was saved. He had been involved in drugs since the age of 16. After joining the program, he went back to school to relearn how to read and write. He also learnt computer skills. After graduating, he got his life back on track. He is now a volunteer and donor.

He met Lian Navarro at a meeting at Amazon where she presented The Caring Place's work for the community. After that meeting, he spoke with several business owners to organize a monthly hygiene donation drive. — Nelson Ferron ELS Home Services, supporters to the events and daily activities of The Caring Place. As a company, they provided non-specialized home health services to the elderly and disabled.

She heard about TCP when she had a flat tire in front of the Broward Centre. Since then, she always brings donations to the Broward Centre.

They cover all three counties with offices in Miramar. They also have offices in Tampa and Orlando for a total of 46 offices in the U.S. and 26 overseas. They have built many buildings in Miami, and one of the newest is in Aventura, which looks like an inverted pyramid. They have been doing this for the past 3 years because they are so impressed with The Caring Place's commitment to the South FL community. Because of their support, The Caring Place has helped over 600 families. "Your Insurance Lawyer” is a nationwide law firm specializing in multiple practice areas including property and casualty claims, housing claims, personal injury, immigration, probate and more.

Tania Andre of The Mavuno Project. This Project aims to raise awareness & prevention on Human Trafficking & Sexual Abuse via Mission Trips to dis-enfranchised communities internationally and locally. We also share a message of Hope that will set the captive free. We have a safe house in Honduras equipped to take 12 girls that have been removed from human trafficking and sexual abusive situations; a place of refuge, restoration and redemption. It’s called: “AMANacer”.

Christopher Simmonds, principal of Care Elementary School. When the school opened in 2015, the statistics weren't very good as it's in Overtown, where many children aren't considered proficient readers. Nine years later, 75 percent of students across the school are reading at or above grade level, and 88 percent are reading at or above grade level in math. He attributes this to great teachers and parents. Guy Edson has supported the mission since 1996. In 2003, he began teaching personal management and life skills classes to the residents. This was a wake-up call for him and he began looking for ways to do more for the homeless community. When the HomeRun team was formed, he decided to get involved to get closer to the residents. Today, he is one of the leaders of the HomeRun team. – Dr. Vera M. Stevens, of the Stevens Health and Nutritional Center, is organizing a free event to help women who have been abused by domestic violence.
Jennifer Urmaza, a dedicated supporter with her time, talent, and treasure, first discovered The Caring Place while searching for an organization that gives back to the community. She consistently finds time to volunteer, becoming an ambassador for the organization by bringing her daughter and others to volunteer as well. Notably, she has been a strong supporter of the Mother's Day event, further demonstrating her commitment to the cause.
Anthony Durden: Our Mission is to Share rewarding community services, experiences and fellowship opportunities. To provide Hope for all persons by giving them Empowerment through a variety of community service needs, with special emphasis on education and mentoring to help better lives and communities. We work to provide services to the people in the community according to their need. Some of those services are: providing school clothes, uniforms, supplies, etc. to parents that need them. Mentoring ex-offender youth 13-18 to help prevent juvenile truancy, feeding the homeless and much, much more. "If You Have a Need, We'll Try And Help You In Deed"!
Catiana Altidor: Entrepreneur, transformational coach and speaker. She visited our Broward Centers to speak to women. There she had a powerful experience speaking to women who had once been where she was. In the past, she went through a divorce and lost everything. But in the midst of these difficulties, she understood that God was calling her. That was the beginning of speaking to women. — Pastor Noel Williams, supporter and volunteer at The Caring Place. She has a program called Beautiful Ashes that is geared toward helping women and girls in need.
Rodolfo Davalos, Supporter, Ambassador, Volunteer and Donor. He is a financial analyst. He believes in what the Bible says: “Whatever you did for one of the least […] you did it for me.” That's why he loves caring for those in need and giving back to the community, especially through The Caring Place. — Jena McClure, founder of Kindness Couture. Started in 2019. Collects underwear for the homeless and needy. Her vision is: "To restore dignity to the homeless by providing them with basic things like underwear."

She volunteers with The Caring Place's CoverGirls group, which helps women and children who are victims of domestic violence by not only providing what they need, but also connecting with them. Michelle Cohen of Passageway Adult Mental Health. It helps mentally ill population. They provide treatment to severe chronically mentally ill individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system, and help people to transition from a hospital or penal institution in to an independent, to achieve control over their disorders. — Jelea Butler, former program client who graduated from The Caring Place, Broward. She later obtained a security license and a job. She returns to the center from time to time to make a donation because she knows how important this type of support is.

They support women experiencing menstrual puberty by collecting menstrual sanitary products for women who cannot afford them, which are essential for a safe life, especially for school-aged girls who miss school due to lack of these products. Makissa Lewis of My Seester, Inc. They strive to open the communication on benefits as well as issues that concern the female veterans’ population. They also recognize the lack of programming that impact women and girls in South Florida, focusing their energy and resources on filling the void of resources for female veterans. — Nadleen Laleau, of 4KIDS (4KIDS.US). Crystal Chester from Bethel Legacy 1322 (based on Proverbs 13:22) is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving people hope. They are always involved with homeless shelters; they intend to purchase property to provide a place for the homeless to live instead of living on the streets and to leave a legacy for future generations. — Shamele Jenkins. Dr. Jacqueline Del Rosario, ReCapturing the Vision International (RTV) is focused on providing support for at-risk youth to succeed in environments lacking supportive structures to promote their success. Our vision is one in which every child has an opportunity to succeed. RTV offers an array of comprehensive programs and services focused on character development, healthy relationship education, family mentoring, counseling, and case management services, along with referrals for medical, behavioral health, and academic services.
Elizabeth Montero. Volunteer. Advocate for the happiness of children. She helps organize events with the CoverGirls focus group at The Caring Place and also motivates mothers. Dieulene Jeanlouis from Earthly Doula. They provide community resources to mothers and families in need, as well as counseling or therapy should a mother need it, especially during pregnancy. They also organize events to educate and keep families safe. Damian Martinez of FORT International. They are local providers of business to business wholesale distribution supplies mainly targeting hospitality, health care and academies. They provide their own scholarship program for students in an effort to help those who pursue higher education. They are The Caring Place Thanksgiving sponsors and donated almost 2000 meals.
Haller Mitchell, a staff member at The Caring Place. Thirteen years ago, he was homeless and addicted to drugs. He tried various programs without much success. He came to The Caring Place, where he graduated and began an internship in food service. Eventually, he was offered a position, which he has held for nine years.

Monica Mondragon. Volunteer and member of the CoverGirls focus group, where she loves helping the women and children of The Caring Place. She started a home-based business baking a delicious carrot cake recipe. The first week, she received over a hundred orders. Now she competes with celebrity bakers and comes in second place. She believes that God gave her the inspiration to start this business. She plans to continue helping women coming out of domestic violence. Lindsey Willis, Media Relation Manager of Publix, says they love to give back to the community, not just financially, but with time, talent and treasure. And it's been that way since the company was founded. Lucille Bevans of Sisters In Spirit of South Florida, Inc. provides blankets, clothing and sneakers to the homeless, as well as canned food through various kitchens. They recently held their 7th Annual Community event where they provided hot food, face painting, raffles and giveaways to Overtown families. — Islah May Abdul Aziz, of the Muslim Women's International League, South Florida Chapter, helps the community in different ways, such as sending sewing machines to South Africa, sending food to the needy and providing clothing in South Florida.
Carolyn Lewis. Since receiving a mail about helping the homeless and needy many years ago, she has supported The Caring Place at all Thanksgiving and Christmas events. She has an online boutique that she promotes through social media: FB/Tiktok@CarolynGodFavorsMeLewis. She also hosted a Christmas gala with a portion of the proceeds going to the homeless. —Damian Martinez of FORT International. Orietta Portuondo, a long-term supporter and volunteer, is committed to our mission of assisting women and children. As a facialist, she brought along a hairdresser and a nail technician to pleasantly surprise five mothers from the mission, who lack the means for such treatments. Founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver in 1992, After-School All-Stars is one of the largest national organizations providing free, comprehensive afterschool programming for under-resourced students. They empower high school students to succeed pursuing college-enabled careers. — Nadleen Laleau (4kids.us) 4KIDS remains committed to redefining foster care across our region one child at a time, with the support of the faith-based community and more.
Gabby Rojas from Miami Diaper Bank. We’re a nonprofit group that supports low-income families and babies with diaper need throughout South Florida. We collect, store and distribute free diapers and essentials to other nonprofits, family service agencies and shelters in our community. Our goal is to ensure that every baby in South Florida has enough diapers to remain clean, dry and healthy. • Dieulene Jeanlouis, from Baby Community Baby Shower (by Earthly Doula), hosts baby showers for moms in need. These events include food, kids’ zone, and baby gifts.

They have been serving the community from their job, but this time a group of ten members came to The Caring Place to volunteer serving lunch and washing dishes. Lanee Jackson-Orange from OIC of South Florida. They help people achieve economic stability & reach their full potential. Workforce Readiness Training, Career Development, Family Strengthening and Job Placement.
Adly Norelus - SFASAS.ORG. They empower high school students to succeed in entering college and pursuing college-enabled careers.

They work with students who have a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder, or other types of cognitive delays.
Addie Goodgame. She came to Florida and was homeless for about a year, sleeping in different places and with different people. She was also addicted to crack cocaine. Her extreme homelessness led her to eat food from dumpsters. Someone brought her to the Broward Outreach Center because she could get help there. She finally graduated in 2010. Today, she is a happy volunteer. Joe Pinto, Rethink Food, brings quality food from restaurants to the Mission.
Carolina Gerdts and her team at RelatedISG Realty were among the donors and supporters of our back-to-school event at our Miami Gardens campus, donating new sneakers and backpacks. Dr. Yamilca Gomez from Florida Virtual School (Flvs.net). She brought resources to the families in our Broward centers. It is a fully accredited statewide public school district that offers 193 courses. They also offer a full-time school for those students who need to earn a high school diploma. They support women experiencing period puberty by collecting menstrual sanitary products from our community for women who are homeless or cannot afford them. They believe this is essential for a secure livelihood, especially for school girls who miss school because they don't have menstrual products. They have also donated products to the women in our centers. Their students don’t fit into a single box, but each one has the motivation and desire to learn and live independently.

John Ashmen, president of City Gate Network. City Gate Network has been in existence since 1906. It is an association that provides training and educational resources to people who lead rescue missions, urban missions or similar ministries in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. They recently held a conference in Orlando, where more than 1,200 people, mostly from the U.S., gathered to receive training to effectively lead rescue missions.

These children are placed in foster care until they can be reunited with their parents, who have to follow rules to be better parents, or until they are adopted into what they call an "ever home."
