My guest for December 2020 is South Florida rock legend Charlie Pickett. In my interview with Charlie, he talks about growing up in South Florida, musical influences, the underrated Florida rock/punk music scene of the 1980s, road stories and of course his music. I was honored to have had the opportunity to chat with Charlie about his life and music.
My guest for November 2020 is Alex Cooper of Orlando, Florida's Smartpunk Records. Alex talks about growing up in Orlando, some of the venues and clubs of the early 00's Orlando scene, his time working at Park Ave CDs and most notably his time doing Smartpunk Records. We talk about all things Smartpunk....from the record label, online distro to physical brick & mortar shop in Orlando + much more! Lots of good banter and laughs!
For the first time on the podcast I had the pleasure of chatting with two very lovely guests from the Florida Keys...the very talented husband and wife duo of Joe and Meri-Lynn Britz. Joe and Meri-Lynn have spent most of their musical journey with their Key Lime Pie Band. Joe and Meri-Lynn talked about early musical influences, their two albums, "South of Jewfish Creek" and "Working In The Conch Republic". They also talk fondly about the past and present Key West music scene, playing gigs in other parts of the country, their bar Coconuts, and so much more!
Joe and Meri-Lynn shared lots of fun stories from their five plus decades together. Huge thanks to Joe and Meri-Lynn for allowing me to document their musical journey as they still continue to perform together to this day!
My guest for September 2020 is DJ Le Spam (Andrew Yeomanson). We also get into his extensive vinyl record collection and his passion for archiving. Lots of insight into the mind and madness of a fellow vinyl collector.
My guest for August 2020 is South Florida guitarist Jimi Fiano. During my interview with Jimi, he dives into his 4 decades worth of playing guitar, influences such as John McLaughlin and Jeff Beck, to bands and artists he's worked with such as Mark Stein of Vanilla Fudge, Mitch Ryder, Tony Stevens of Foghat and a whole lot more. In addition to performing on stage, Jimi also talked about being a guitar instructor.
My interview guest for July 2020 is bassist, singer, and band leader Michael Washington. During my interview with Mike, he dives deep into his 5 decades worth of the bands he's play in, clubs he's played at, cities and towns he's traveled to, the people he's met along the way, and the countless memories and stories he's collected over the years.
From his time in Cleveland playing with soul/funk band Sly, Slick and Wicked to his relocating his funk/rock band Phantasy in the early 80's to South Florida. Mike played alongside such music legends as Sly Stone and the hardest working man in show business, soul brother no. 1, James Brown.
Mike talks about his relationship with the godfather of the modern gentleman's club, Michael J. Peter. Known for such world famous adult entertainment clubs such as Thee Dollhouse, Solid Gold, and Pure Platinum, Mike's band Stark Naked played them all for many years. Although Mike didn't spend as much time in the recording studio, he honed and perfected his craft of playing, singing, and dancing live at venues across the country. Mike offered up many untold stories only known by the people who were there....until now.
My interview guest for June 2020 is singer and guitarist, Lee Folmar. When people think of loud, fast and high octane punk music, Tallahassee, Florida isn't the location that comes to mind. But during the late 80's, Lee was apart of one of my personal favorite punk bands, Insect Fear. Although they only existed for a few years, Insect Fear left their mark on on the local Tallahassee music scene. Lee talks about his years spent working at what was once one of Tallahassee's most prominent music stores, Vinyl Fever. He shares stories from some of his earliest punk shows seeing bands such as Bad Brains, Black Flag & Sonic Youth. He also delves into music after Insect Fear. Lee played in more indie-rock style Tallahassee bands such as Nagaland, Starry Crowns, and West Hexes just to name a few.

Russ takes us through the history of Quit, followed by his relocation to Boston, and eventually ending up back in South Florida. Russ shares his musical journey into jazz, surf, and exotica music, all which plays a pivotal role in his current project, Gold Dust Lounge.
Many cities and towns across the U.S. have their seminal bands that were trailblazers in their respective music scene. Miami's Quit was exactly that... pioneers of a pop-punk sound that influenced countless other bands throughout South Florida. It was wonderful chatting with Russ and a real honor to interview one of the key players of a band so many fans admire and love.
My interview guest for April 2020 is guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Fritz Dorigo. You may remember Fritz from South Florida bands such as XSF/Excessive, Crease, the Mary Tyler Whores and Dirty DNA just to name a few. Fritz opens up about his time with Crease, whom were one of the bigger rock bands out of Florida in the late 90's/early 2000's. He talks about their deal with Roadrunner Records, and the winds of change that the music industry is all too known for. He also shares what he has been up to after Crease and brings us to present day.
My interview guest for March 2020 is Eddie Hill, guitarist and musician who played in several bands throughout Florida, spanning 5 decades. Eddie got his start with The Voshays and then formed Mirror, whom released a handful of 12" records on their homegrown label, Get Off Records. Mirror's 70's output channels a P-Funk vibe, with the mid 80's songs leaning more towards the electro-breakdance sound of the era. He played in other local bands Pure Justice, Private Stock, Contact Connection Band, and is most current band, Pocket Change. Eddie opens up about his influences, trials, and tribulations in the music business. He also opens shares the positive impact his band Pocket Change has on people of all ages.
