Today Kenny discusses the concept of work-life harmony, which he believes is different from work-life balance. He emphasizes the importance of setting clear priorities and boundaries to prevent work from encroaching on personal time and vice versa. By prioritizing physical, emotional, and mental well-being, individuals can create a fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle. He believes that harmony is unique to each individual and can be achieved by investing in experiences and people that align with one's goals and values.
Kenny acknowledges that achieving harmony may require working long hours at times, but it should not come at the expense of personal fulfillment and enjoyment. He identifies 24/7 connection as a major challenge to work-life harmony, as people have conditioned themselves and others to be constantly available. Kenny encourages listeners to be mindful of these challenges and to shut down work when it's time to be over. He also emphasizes the importance of awareness and having conversations with one's team about the impacts of work on personal life.
Chapman concludes by encouraging listeners to strive for progress rather than perfection in achieving work-life harmony. He believes that by up-leveling harmony, individuals can improve their overall job performance, well-being, and mental and physical health. To achieve work-life harmony, He encourages listeners to create their own rules for work-life harmony and invest in experiences and people that align with their goals and values.

In this episode host Kenny Chapman discusses procrastination and how it can hinder personal growth and success. He challenges the notion that procrastination is always a negative thing, pointing out that delaying certain actions, such as overeating, can be beneficial. However, when procrastination prevents individuals from achieving their goals or living a fulfilling life, it becomes a problem.
Chapman emphasizes that the brain is a habit-forming machine and suggests getting leverage over procrastination by creating new habits and breaking old ones. He shares a story about his attorney mentor who would start his day by calling the client he liked the least. This was his way of overcoming procrastination and breaking down the tasks he didn't want to do. He suggests that procrastination has nothing to do with the task itself but rather the feelings associated with it. By acknowledging and understanding these feelings, individuals can stop telling themselves stories and labels that allow them to generalize themselves as procrastinators.
Chapman urges listeners to simplify their emotions and feelings and realize that the brain is doing its job of keeping them out of harm. He advises being easy with oneself and setting clear outcomes and prioritizing tasks to overcome procrastination. He also recommends batching time with breaks, especially for creative tasks.

Is stress taking over all aspects of your life?
On this week's show, we go beyond the conventional ideas of stress management and explore how to elevate consciousness and up-level your being. From personal experience, I share tips on mastering techniques that allow you to better understand - rather than just merely manage - stress in a way that honors what works best for you!
• Stress is simply fear in disguise, created by our brains as a self-defense mechanism in situations that cannot be responded to directly. • Fear is an emotion experienced when the brain senses danger, releasing hormones like adrenaline and cortisol which help us respond quickly and efficiently to the situation. • Too much fear can be paralyzing, however, understanding its source helps us take action despite it instead of letting it hold us back from goals. • Taking time for self-care activities such as exercise and meditation can reduce stress levels while also fostering resilience.

Positional leadership is a dangerous form of leadership that relies heavily on authority to motivate and control people.
This type of leadership includes direct orders, threats, and intimidation to get results.
It can be effective in short-term situations or when managing large groups of people that require strict structure and order. However, it has significant drawbacks as it does not cultivate an environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Key points:
•Everyone has someone they report to in their workplace, both up and down.
• We all have someone we report to unconsciously in our heads, which can be a result of conformity or FOMO.
• Social media amplifies the comparison mindset, one of the most dangerous mindsets to have.
• It is important to choose who you want to report moving forward and how this makes you feel for your health and happiness.
Most leaders understand the importance of having a positive attitude and outlook. But how can this quality be used to enhance decision-making, foster a positive work environment, and increase success? Let’s explore the power of happiness and how it can be used to strengthen leadership.
Being happy has been proven to have many benefits both personally and professionally. People who are happy tend to be more productive, creative, successful and content with their lives. This same sentiment applies to leadership. Leaders who possess a positive mindset will have an easier time making decisions that are in the best interest of their organization, as well as inspiring others to do the same.
Leaders who choose to remain positive even in difficult times will also help create an atmosphere of positivity within the organization. A happy leader is one that is capable of leading with confidence, enthusiasm, optimism and resilience — all qualities that are essential for successful leadership. Additionally, when employees feel supported by their leaders they tend to be more productive in the workplace and more invested in achieving the organization’s goals.
Happy people tend to perform better than their less-happy counterparts. Studies have shown that happier people make better decisions because they are able to think more clearly and have an overall better outlook on life. When it comes to leadership, this means that rather than being overwhelmed by stress or anxiety when faced with a difficult decision or situation, leaders should take a step back and assess what needs to be done from a place of clarity and positivity; this will ultimately lead them down the path towards success.
Happiness is not only beneficial for leaders but for those whom they lead as well. Leaders who choose to embrace a positive attitude will create a culture where employees feel supported, respected and inspired — all essential components necessary for an organization’s success. By recognizing the power of happiness in leadership you can become an effective leader who inspires others while still achieving your own personal goals. Do you need help finding ways to stay happy? “When you have people that don't do what you're asking to, Generally. They're not happy. And even if they're getting some results, but they're not following the process or whatever it is, people that don't win, aren't happy. You've got to find a way to help them win. Or you've got to find a way to help them win elsewhere. And many times, again, I'm not saying go fire your team. What I'm saying. Get Fired up for your team and it’s your responsibility to identify what this looks like.”
When it comes to having multiple seven figures dropped in your account, there is definitely something to be said for feeling like you have it all. However, when looking deeper into what this "all there is" actually means, it's important to remember that even with all of our success and blessings, we are still just humans struggling through this life. Ultimately, the question of whether or not we have "it all" is one that always remains open to interpretation and change that consciousness is all there is and that if you live in accordance with that, you will be happy.

In today’s episode of the Leadership in a Nutshell podcast, I want to talk to you guys about the most dangerous division, which is the “us and them” mentality. This is a concept that's really resonated with me since I wrote my original version of the Six Dimensions of Change and it really was a new perspective on how I feel about the dimensions of change. I believe that this mentality was so ingrained in me when I was growing up and I wanted to share the concept in a little different light today. Hopefully, this episode can help you in one way or another as we experience a lot of division in in the world right now.

We live our life filled with everyday habits and routines. They are what keep our day moving forward. But, what if I tell you that you can elevate those routines to add more meaning and impact to your life?

But, once you turn that routine into something deeper and more meaningful, it creates a completely new atmosphere around the everyday things that we do; no matter how mundane or exciting they are.
So let’s start creating a more meaningful life by turning your routines into rituals!

Can you relate to asking yourself that question?
My job with my 1:1 clients is to uncover why they do what they do and figure out their subconscious pattern of behaviors.
Why you certain things is tied to the way you’ve always done things.
And how many of you do things a certain way because it’s tied to money?
Listen a lot of what we do is tied to money.. it’s not a bad thing. But we should be aware of it and make sure we’re making the right choices.
Write this down: Money Mindset Matters
If you know me well, then you know I’m all about life design.
We are all architects in our business, and in our businesses.
When you think about growth, does it represent excitement or does it represent pain?
You say that you want growth, but your actions show something different.
The way that we do business is our creative outlet and I dive more into this in next episode (episode 33).
But don’t focus on creating it right away - focus on designing it!
We’re constantly evolving as leaders and teams. You’re always running your current business AND your future business, and you probably don’t even realize it.
I’m diving into the 4 stages of Team Formation:
Forming
Storming
Norming
Performing
At the end of the day, you will always be at one of these stages of team formation within your business.
And having clarity, staying positivity, and being support is critical during each of them.
Keep your team focused on what their purpose is - make sure they are in alignment with what they feel called to do.

Did you choose any one company because of confidence, culture, or your clarity?
Which would be the most fulfilling for you or which might strength/challenge you?
Guess what - there is not right answer. The answer is only what is right for YOU.
Does it make sense to you when you hear - “you have to choose between business success OR personal success.. you can’t have both.”
Guess what my friend? I believe you can have your cake AND you can eat it too!
Happiness > Wealth
49 million results come up on google when you type in “happiness over wealth”
Do you find that as insane as I did?
You’re entitled to the life you WANT. If you want happiness - you have the power to make that happen.

Let’s tie up the last few episodes around Pain Points with the last Pain Point - Mediocrity.
“Beware the lollipop of mediocrity; lick it once and you’ll suck forever.” - Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys
Do you get frustrated when you are “just average”? I know I do my friend..
When are you being mediocre and when are you playing all out and becoming the greatest version of yourself possible?
These are some questions to really think about..
Remember this, effective leaders are NOT mediocre.
In this episode of Leadership in a Nutshell, we’re talking about pain point #2- Regret.
“Most people want to avoid pain, and discipline is usually painful” - John Maxwell
Remember, you’re going to have pain when you have discipline, but today we’re talking about regret and the reality is - when you stay the same, thats the ultimate regret.
Don’t be a person that goes to the grave with regret.
And don’t be a person who chases perfection because perfection is the biggest productivity killer.
You procrastinate because you want things to be perfect. Procrastination is the biggest regret in the world my friend..

We’re talking about a pain point that’s a struggle for all of us - discipline.
Sometimes pain is in our lives to serve a purpose.
One of the greatest entrepreneurs and motivational speakers, Jim Rohn, said “There are two types of pain - the pain of discipline, and the pain of regret. Discipline weighs ounces, while regret weighs tons.”
I don’t want you carry around tons of weight my friend!
Listen, it’s going to be painful either way - but which would you rather have? Discipline or regret?
Discipline is challenging, yes. But you don’t want to get to your death bed and have regret.
Let’s embrace pain and use it as a driver in our life’s purpose.
Turn discipline into a “get to” vs. a “have to”.
If this resonated with you please let me know by leaving a review!
In this episode of the Leadership in a Nutshell Podcast - I'm giving you a quick strategy to releasing anger.
A lot of times we carry around anger and as I like to call it - "baggage" into other areas of our life and it's extremely destructive my friend.
I'm not minimizing anger, or saying you shouldn't have it. But there are better ways to cope with it, and release it.. and this episode breaks it all down for you!
In this episode of Leadership in a Nutshell - I’m giving you a 3 part “simple change formula”.
I’ve learned that we will do more to avoid pain, than to gain pleasure - and we need to change this mindset if we want to change our lives!
Breaking down the change formula here:
#1 - Identify the problem (5:27)
#2 - What is the promise? (7:12)
#3 - What is the path? (8:53)
Go out there and make a positive change for and in your life my friend!

But in this episode of Leadership in a Nutshell, I’m giving you just a small a piece of it.
Let’s talk about delegation clarity.
There’s 4 steps to getting CLEAR about DELEGATION:
#1 - WHO
#2- How and Why?
#3 - Identify
#4 - Timeline
I break down each in this episode.

Until next week my friend!
Ahh a 10 letter word that is sought after for most..
But what we’ve learned about what we need to do to “retire” is actually all wrong!
My friend, the moment you “retire” is the moment you lose purpose.
There a few things I think we all need to retire from and I share them in this video. Give it a listen the full way through and let me know what you think.
If it changes your mind on what retirement is, let me know! I’d love to hear from you.

The big question is.. “can you really think and grow rich?”
Spoiler: YES!
Here are 5 ways that will help you “think” and grow rich.
#1 - Desire
#2 - Have faith
#3 - The power of auto-suggestion

In this episode of Leadership in a Nutshell I’m breaking down the triggers we get when we, or someone we know, finally decides to change.
We are each different in what triggers a change - but I give you 3 key processes we go through during CHANGE.
Here’s the first one:
#1 - What’s the situation? Figure out the situation and then you can move onto the next process in this cycle.
Listen to this video to find out the other two!

Take a break from technology my friend! It’s so important for not only your success, but also your sanity. Here are some tips that have been really helpful for me in my business AND personal life:
#1 - Plan time. Block out times in your day where you turn off technology completely.
#2 - Project time. When you’re working on projects, don’t look at social media!
#3 - Kill your notifications! Turn them off my friend - they are a productivity killer.
#4 - Create technology free zones. Have areas where you do not get on your phone or any technology. You need to free up your energy so you can stay connected and grounded.
Be intentional about how, when, where you’re using technology.
I’m a 9 out 10 on the Kolbe Quick Start, my friend I LOVE IDEAS.
But that actually hurt me earlier on in my entrepreneur journey. So you don’t make the same mistakes I did, I’m giving you some tips that will help you with implementing plans, and NOT ideas.
#1 - SLOW DOWN
#2 - STRATEGIC THINKING TIME
#3 - WRITE AND GET IT OUT OF YOUR HEAD
#4 - WHY? WHO? AND WHEN?
Drop a comment below if you have any questions - I’m always happy to help!
Have you wanted to start journaling? Maybe you've started journaling and then stopped after a few days because you couldn't find a good routine with it.
In this episode of Leadership in a Nutshell, I give you 4 tips that will help you be effective at journaling.
#1 - Medium - will you write it in a notebook? Type in google doc? Maybe even voice record??
#2 - Time - MAKE THE TIME FOR IT MY FRIEND!
#3 - Methodology - will you write a full page, a short paragraph, or maybe just one line?
#4 - Allow Evolution - you don't need to stick to one way of journaling, as you evolve - your journaling routine will evolve.
Go with it! I wasn't great at journaling when I first started. It was something I needed to practice every day (just like anything else in life!).
Try these out and let me know if they helped you!
As a leader, everything revolves around you. Your team is looking to you for answers, your clients are looking to you for answers. When I was a young entrepreneur, I was figuring out how to show up and influence at the highest level.
And truthfully, I didn't do a great job at protecting my mindset. I'm giving you 4 takeaways that you'll easily be able to implement right away:
#1 - MOVE. If you want your mind to work better, move!
#2 - GIVE YOUR MIND A BREAK. I'm a huge fan of meditation, but there's a ton of ways you can give your mind a break
#3 - SLEEP. We underestimate the power and importance of sleep. WE NEED SLEEP!
#4 - BEING FUTURE FOCUSED. It's important to get out of the past.
Is your team working fully or partially remote?
My team and I have been working virtually for over 10 years, so I've learned what's most important in creating engaging and effective virtual meetings.
#1 - Be prepared! Sounds simple, but I've been on many meetings where the host get's on last, or is late. It's not a good look my friend.
#2 - Know your technology! This is overlooked a lot. People think because they've used a system a few times that it will work every time. Guess what? Technology isn't perfect, and neither are you - make sure you set everything up several minutes before your meeting/event starts.
#3 - Set ground rules! Will your team be able to ask questions in the chat box? Will they be able to communicate with each other in the chat box? Will they be on mute? Will there be a waiting room before they can get into the meeting?
#4 - Facilitate collaboration! This is HUGE my friend! Make sure your meeting allows for everyone to ask questions, give input, and BE HEARD. If you liked this episode give it a like and let me know what tip you'll utilize first!
In this episode of Leadership in a Nutshell, I give you 3 easy and actionable tips to communicating effectively with your team during "these uncertain times".
#1 - Don't just communicate, but OVER communicate
#2 - Be empathetic (everyone is handling this differently, remember that!)
#3 - People are looking for a leader (be the leader that you are, people are looking for one - even if they don't flat out say it)
Up your game with communication and watch your positive results follow!
If you play basketball with a ping pong ball, you're in trouble. Same is true if you play ping pong with a basketball, except you might break something! Too many leaders feel stuck these days. Part of being stuck is not knowing what to do with the equipment you have, the tools to utilize, or the team to empower. Today, let's chat about applying the right rules and strategies for the actual business game you're playing.
When we get to a certain age, or something happens with our health, we are told it's time to get a checkup. If you're a leader or an executive, you're told to get an executive checkup.
When it's time to grow your business, it's due time that you have a different kind of executive checkup! One that encompasses the areas of your business that have not been performing at possible potential.
Join me for this bonus episode where I discuss what we can learn for business and leadership from Socrates' statement of, "A life unexamined is not worth living".

Ever wake up from a dream and actually not want to be awake because you want to see how it ends?
Most of the time when I wake up from a dream, it’s a really weird dream or a not so pleasant dream experience and I feel extremely grateful to be “out of that false reality”. I’m happy to roll over, realize that was just a dream and get back to sleep.
What about when you wake up and want to keep dreaming though?
I recently had this happen to me where I was so engulfed in what was going on in my dream, when I first woke up and from a groggy state began to realize it was just a dream, I literally wanted to go back to sleep in order to continue on and finish the experience that was playing out.
Join me in this episode where we'll connect the dots between what you dream about at night and how to create the dream you want during your life!
The challenge is do we focus our managers on hitting the goal today, or make sure we hit the budgeted goal in the future!
How much time do you split between now and future focus? What is too much, what is not enough? Let's have that conversation right now!
