Welcome back to the Athlete and the Average Joe! In this special episode Georgia chats with previous softball team mate and Australian pitcher Steph Trzcinski. Steph has many wonderful achievements as a softballer and scholar. She has been a member of the U19 Softball Australia squad since her very youthful debut on the national stage as a 13 year old. Steph was a part of the team that went on to claim a bronze in the Australian Women's U-19 Team at the World championship in 2013 and in the same year Steph completed her secondary schooling top of her class for PE and with a merit award. In 2015 Steph remained in the Australian Women's U-19 National Team for the World Championship won an Australian U-19 National Championship winner and was named Player of the Grand Final. Steph went on to play for University of California Berkley for four years with her achievements including 2x Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention (2015-16), Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention (2014) and 2x Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week (2/16/15 & 3/2/15).Not only is Steph a hard working and passionate sports women she is driven in her career and achieving her best off the diamond. Georgia and Steph deep dive into balancing sporting and career aspirations, the mental challenges of softball and the path to the 2020 Olympics.
