There has been a lot of debate concerning the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I don’t know how productive all of that has been considering some of the dividing lines that have been drawn. I’ll introduce you to some of the stances taken while dismissing the extremes. But the point of this video is NOT to settle this debate.

The point IS to show you what so many seem to be missing as a blessing in this relationship with God from Romans 8:9-11.

There’s a lot of unanswerable questions regarding this person of the trinity, but rest assured what we do know gives us great comfort and confidence that you have the closest relationship to God available.

Social media is either a great tool or a terrible distraction. It is not inherently evil as some Christians might have you believe.

Some use it to define themselves, w how others use platforms for business or even righteous purposes.

Some use it as a means to spread truth while others use it to prop up their world of fantasy.

In this episode Chuck and I discuss the negativity and positivity associated with it.

As a follow-up to the first video, Evan’s back to discuss the role of his victim mentality in his walk away from God.

We discuss the absurdity of the “woe is me” mindset and the damages it does.

We also discuss our personal responsibilities and faults in his decisions to lead a sin-filled life.

The hope for this video is to help kids and parents to avoid the same mistakes and take ownership of their choices.

Father & Son Discuss Personal “Prodigal Son” Story

It’s not quite as dramatic as it sounds, and then it is.

My son never disappeared from home and destroyed his entire life. But for a while he purposefully left God and put himself in dangerous situations. The most dangerous was jeopardizing his soul and future with God.

He broke his trust with me and his mom, and broke our hearts for a time. He set a destructive example for his siblings, his friends, and his girlfriend. Had a couple of situations gone differently, he could’ve ended up in much worse conditions.

After a lot of difficult conversations and moments, It finally snapped in his mind and he returned full force in humility, confession, and repentance.

This is a discussion from both sides about those times and implications as well as lessons learned.

Is the Evil in Society the Fault of Good People Who Didn’t Stand Up?

I’ve gotten a “yes” to this question quite often. I’ve seen the memes and quotes, and it’s always come off as victim-blaming.

Good people, at times, could and should do more. But solely blaming them for society’s moral decay is a reach at best. When you bring Jesus into the equation, said conclusion becomes uncomfortable.

The Courage to Come Back to God

Leaving God is usually gradual and sin ensnares us and can lead us away. The longer we’re away from God, the harder it is to return. Coming back is difficult. I’ve seen many people do it, and every time they came back broken and emotional.

Do yourself a favor and admit it could be you. It could be a choice or series of choices you make in the future. I hope not. But if it does, I hope you’ll have the courage to come back like the prodigal son in the parable Jesus told.

Here’s King David’s story…

Why the Singing is so Bad in Your Congregation

Jesus has saved us!! The greatest salvation story of all time! But is that reflected when I’m singing about it?

The Israelites after being set free from Egyptian slavery sang to God in such a way that when you read about it, you see their elation and gratitude. Does my singing to God show the same thing?

Many people point out all types of problems and proposed solutions for a lackluster “song service” in collective worship. I submit to you (from the Bible) the problem is easily diagnosed and the solution is simple.

Do You Ever Consider How God Feels?

This is a relationship. In any caring relationship you always consider how the other person feels. Does God get that same consideration from you?

When you sin? When you pray? When you’re trying to make a decision? When you worship?

God is not some removed distant being unrelated to the emotions and feelings we experience. Read through the Bible and note His pleasure, His satisfaction, His sadness, and even His anger.

How I live directly affects my Father, and I just wonder how much we consider this.

I know it will help us to see God better. It will help us in our experience with Him. It will help us to understand and consider Him more.

How to Start a Spiritual Revolution

What can I do about it?

That’s the question plaguing us when we think about the problems in society.

There’s an undeniable downward spiral regarding morality in our society! Fact established.

One of my problems with watching the news is the lack of solution offered. I’m drowning and they’re describing the water! I need answers, solutions, and actions.

There are many answers to the plaguing question. BUT there’s only ONE RESOURCE!

The Bible. God’s mind put into human words. There’s your power source!

Revolution begins at revelation!

Here’s how King Josiah illustrates.

Hope is the result of faith in God and His promises! He’s promised (and He can’t lie), so we trust Him (faith from seeing Him keep all His promises) and we hold true hope (desire coupled with expectation)!

We have to and need to hold so tightly onto this hope for our own faithful well-being AND for the world to see. We need to give them reasons to ask about our hope, so it must be displayed in our lives!

The world needs to see your hope right now. With so much negativity and pessimism in our culture - they need the example of hope. They need hope in their lives and for their future.

Courage in the Face of Your…Friends?!?

It takes great courage and faith to stand against your enemies. It may take even greater to stand against your friends.

David looked like a great hero after his courage and faith against Goliath. He may have appeared to be weak when he spent so much time running from King Saul.

Watch David hold a standard even if it isn’t understood or agreed with by those who were on his side.

Will you hold God’s standard no matter who disagrees? It’ll take faith and courage.

When Jesus Recognizes You!

We all crave recognition on some level. It brings us joy to be noticed. It warms our hearts to be remembered. We go out of of our way for even the slightest recognition from what we wear to where we live and what we drive.

We appreciate it at work, and we get excited about appearing in media forms (another cause for the popularity in social media).

But there will never be a more exciting and rewarding experience than to have God of all recognize you and welcome you into the kingdom prepared just for you!

Can you imagine it?

Why “Church Attendance”

There’s really no such thing in the sense most of use it (hence the quotation marks).

It’s more than checking a proverbial box, it is a responsibility set in place by our Father for good reasons.

This is a little different take than what you might be used to. And no, going “every time the doors are open” doesn’t make you a faithful Christian or fulfill your responsibilities to your family.

Opening and Accessing God’s Gift

If I receive a Christmas present and set it in front of me leaving it wrapped but celebrating this gift, is it really mine? Can I make use of it still wrapped in the box?

Presents are (almost always) graciously given by someone who loves you and wants to bring you joy. So do you automatically earn that gift in opening it? Or are you just doing what it takes to get what’s been given?

See popp lol how this relates to grace and faith.

Don’t Act Like Christians Don’t Get Triggered!

Some of us are easily offended when disagreed with.

Some of us are personally offended when disagreed with.

Some of us respond harshly when disagreed with.

For some of us, it takes very little to make us freak and respond unkindly with little to no concern for the souls involved, our influence, and the love God expects.

🔵 We Need Real Men

Don’t let the thumbnail and title fool you. This isn’t about tradition or societal norms but another lesson from the relationship of Adam and Eve.

Responsibility and accountability aren’t popular concepts highlighted by many in influential positions now. But real men understand they weren’t simply designed to be leaders. They understand it begins with stepping up and taking that lead through ownership and accountability.

Adam didn’t live up to that calling when first tested. Men, will you?

Are You Ready to Suffer?

Did Jesus expect to suffer when He came here? He’s said that a servant is not greater than his master, so should I have the same expectation?

I should.

Putting on spiritual armor from Ephesians 6 to fight Satan is ONLY effective if you have this way of thinking.

Imagine how much better you’ll be able to cope when you have this mentality.

What Does the Bible Say About Spanking Your Children?

This method of discipline used to be widely accepted but has been delegitimized in recent decades.

Physically punishing your child has been grossly misunderstood on both ends of the spectrum: one being an excuse for physically abusing a child, and the other deeming any form to be abusive and totally destructive.

So what does God say about this? Again, it isn’t an exhaustive study, but an introduction to God’s instructions on this singular aspect of raising a child.

I expect this to be problematic for some, and hopefully you’ll be opened minded to biblical wisdom.

Using four passages from Proverbs, I’ll show you some of the effects and excuses of laziness.

Yes, it does affect your physical life, but the focus always has to be on our relationship with God. You may be incredibly industrious in so many aspects of your life and spiritually bankrupt because there is little to no diligence applied to this relationship with God.

Hopefully you’ll see these warnings as good medicine and be provoked to make sure that don’t apply to you in any way.

Joseph faced a scenario that is the dream of ungodly men. He is a good looking, powerful, and successful man who was being chased by his ruler’s attractive wife.

But a dream for an ungodly man is a nightmare for God’s man, and Joseph refuses to disrespect God, Potiphar, and Potiphar’s wife.

It’s an impressive scene that doesn’t end well for Joseph even though he refuses to sin.

Men of God, here’s your encouragement to never trade God and your honor for a brief moment of pleasure - even if no one would know.

Magical surfaces?

Yes. If you wear next to nothing on these surfaces, you are considered clothed.

Cross the street from the beach and watch the scramble to get more clothes on.

Leave the confines of the pool and watch the same scramble.

When Adam and Eve found themselves naked and attempted to clothe themselves. After God pronounced judgment, He clothed them more properly.

Let’s see what that has to do with how I dress today.

Forgiving Yourself: Todd Houston

This is such an important aspect of Christianity because an overdose of guilt can be so destructive.

Todd and Zack look at three men in the Bible with different reactions to their guilt.

Judas, who hanged himself in his overwhelming guilt.

Peter, who struggled to move on in his guilt

Paul, who experienced the guilt but learned to use it as a tool and motivation in glorifying God.

We hope you will learn to let your guilt have its proper place, and that this study will help you discover your value in Christ and God’s forgiveness.

What is the “Age of Accountability?”

You’ll find this phrase in the Bible right next to “placing membership.”

Seriously, it’s a phrase used to describe that point in an individual’s life when they become accountable for their actions - understanding the consequences of those actions and having the ability to make personal decisions regarding them.

Some never reach that point and cannot be held accountable. This is the reason why children cannot commit sin.

The mystery revolves around that critical point in a person’s life. The goal is simply to encourage individuals to choose Christ - the only means of remitting those sins - as soon as they are willing and able to.

It’s an easy word when life is smooth.

It’s an easy word when troubles seem distant.

Well? Is that your life - smooth and trouble free? Mine neither.

But can I say “good” anyway AND MEAN IT?

Do you know the value of that so-called bad stuff.

Learn to say good by learning value of hard times. If we don’t show the world this mentality, who will?

Ask not what the church can do for you. Ask what you can do for the church.

Sometimes there are good reasons to relocate to another congregation.

Then there are those Christians who are just selfish and disagreeable. Their opinions weren’t heeded. They didn’t get anything out of the preacher’s sermons. They had a disagreement with some of their brethren. So they just had to take their over-inflated sense of self worth to a congregation who would better serve their needs.

And that attitude about the family Jesus died to establish is nothing like Jesus, Himself.

Church family is perfect in design and imperfect in humanity. The Lord calls for a totally selfless mentality, and complaining about what the church doesn’t do for you is a problem.

It’s not that you don’t need a healthy view of self. It’s just that the proper view isn’t coming from within.

The value of you and your existence comes from God Himself. From your design to the very meaning of your life, God gives you greater value than you can ever achieve.

When you focus on that real value, you’ll be less inclined to classify yourself according to others’ perspectives, and you’ll have much less need to validate you.

God cares for and loves you in such a way that you’ll spend the rest of your life in His word learning to appreciate it.

It’s true that no one understands what you’re going through and how you feel. BUT that isn’t necessarily a problem and it an be a good thing if you’ll see it as an opportunity!

God wants to be everything to you. What better opportunity to build your relationship with Him than times like these - times when you have no one else to turn to but God.

It’s also a temptation to pity yourself and amplify the victim mentality. Here’s an introduction to transforming the pitiful to the opportune.

Discipline equals freedom. It’s a quote made more popular by Jocko Willink recently but a concept introduced by God.

Want to be chained down by financial burdens and consequences? Don’t pay any attention to your income and spending.

Want to be burdened with procrastination and rushing around? Don’t budget your time.

Want to be fat and out of shape and sickly? Don’t monitor what you eat and get very little activity.

Of course you don’t want any of those outcomes, and the only way to avoid them is structure and discipline.

Same goes for a relationship with God! It is a wonderful outcome (both here and in heaven) if you will deny you and live for the Lord. Best of all, you will be free from the consequence sin (both here and in hell).

This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. After the destructive frustration in chapter 7, we realize we are IN CHRIST!!

These are the advantages enjoyed for all who choose to live in Jesus - from the freedom to the invincibility.

Romans 8 shows us we do not have to wait for heaven to enjoy life with God, our adoptive father.

It haunts all of us as Christians to some degree. You commit and you mess up. You repent and even through great effort, you mess up. You confess and pray, and you mess up. You improve in one area of your life, and you mess up in another.

Why does this keep happening? Will I ever get this right?

This mentality is flawed, but understandable. It’s also dangerous because many have grown weaker and given up as a result.

We take a look at this nagging, defeated feeling in an effort to help you find the mental balance you need while battling Satan, sin, and yourself.

A great preacher was once asked what he believed was the greatest threat to the Lord’s church. His reply was, “The unlearned brother and sister in the pew.”

This. Is. A. Relationship. If you don’t communicate properly in any relationship, then it’s doomed to fail.

Many of you reading this are likely that unlearned brother or sister, and while that may sting, it shows up when we can’t answer questions about the Bible or when we’re divided in our beliefs. Many of us don’t know what we’re talking about when it comes to the truth.

Every one of us can improve, so hopefully this discussion highlights the importance and gives you some tips on Bible study.

There seems to be so many names for church today and it’s wildly confusing.

One of the the dumbest questions a person could ask in the first century would be, “What church do you go to?”

Does it matter? Are we all Christians with different beliefs and practices? Are we united even in our diversity because we’re affiliated with Jesus?

The Bible is clear about the church and God’s expectations, even if it makes us uncomfortable. There are many descriptions given of the church, but I have yet to find an official title. With that said, if I am going to use one of those descriptions as a title I want it it to be biblical.

If you’re self-aware, you’re looking in a mirror daily.

There’s a spiritual mirror too. It’s the Bible. And one reason so many people have a problem with it is because they don’t like the reflection they’re confronted with when examining it.

This is a study of James and that reflective aspect of the word that allows us to ourselves and make the necessary changes so we don’t become hearers (readers) only.

One of the WORST things you can do to another person is act like their sin is no big deal!

Some Christians do this and arrogantly exclaim, “We’re SO accepting, and they’re SO judgmental!”

In a spiritually immature congregation in Corinth, the brethren were doing this, and they acted like a guy sleeping with his step mom was no big deal. They were tolerant.

Paul doesn’t mince words in dealing with this situation and he told them just how dangerous it was. If left alone, their sin would destroy them and pollute the congregation.

Make sure you’re not hating your brother or sister and the rest of your family by letting sin go, and excusing yourself with tolerance.

Here’s a relevant question that really isn’t a question! (I’ll explain in the video.)

There are a lot of people who love Jesus but don’t want much to do with “church,” and there are some who just don’t see the need anymore.

This is really a question that brings up two subjects: Jesus’ connection to the church and the relevance of attendance in a building with other Christians.

Perhaps this will answer those questions and change some negative attitudes.

Introducing Robby Eversole - a Christian man with an interesting background. He’s honestly candid and humble as he shares his past in early adulthood. The hope is reaching people - people who feel like they’re too far gone from God; Christians who may be flirting with the devil, unaware of the disasters that await; an addict who is struggling; or anyone who might benefit from hearing this.

The challenge of this interview is avoiding the “tabloid effect” of giving out all the gritty details for the sake of effects. Robby is so much more than his past and he’d much rather talk to me about the gospel than his failures.

Most importantly, the real story isn’t the sinful details. The story is the consistent grace and love of the mighty God who keeps opening doors for Robby to walk through. Secondarily, the story is the wonderful family of church through support, prayers, and accountability.

I’ve enjoyed meeting and talking to Robby, and I appreciate his talents and faith in God.

This is a common passage broadly used for a variety of situations, and it fits. But the context goes a little deeper and you might be surprised at how much more effective the true message is.

For a little insight, Christians CAN struggle with being closed-minded when the truth is presented - especially when that truth happens to convict. There’s a temptation to speak hastily and angrily rather than listen.

See what James has to offer here.

It is interesting to look at the absurd efforts Aaron uses to shift blame from his lack of leadership and responsibility. Humility, honor, and honesty are at the core of confession - a key in our relationship with God.

It’s an interesting question I was asked recently and the answer usually surprises a few.

Since the sin in the garden, God has always offered salvation to all people. That salvation has always included key concepts in a conditional relationship.

We’re used to a salvation through the shed blood of Jesus. But what about those who lived before His sacrifice?

Christians are increasingly afraid of the world. Fear is a natural response, but we cannot be dominated by it!

I mean, what can the really do to us or take from us? We are well protected by our Father, and He alone saves.

Keep in mind, though, EVERY relationship is conditional, so who is there to hurt us IF…

The most diabolical place known to man is not yet known to man. It is defined by one of the worst places on earth and was originally designed for evil personified.

Hell. The Bible doesn’t say as much as you might think about it. God doesn’t use it as singular motivation for following Him. It is a real place that seems to be clearly defined in scripture but hotly debated even among those professing Christ.

Here’s an introductory look.

The world will tell you in a convincing, thundering chorus that they choose facts while we choose “fairytale.”

They loudly shout us down with their evidence.

BUT…we have evidence too. And their amazing facts aren’t as convincing as they’d have you to BELIEVE.

And there’s the key word - belief. EVERYONE chooses to believe because no one knows it all.

It won’t last forever, and he knows it.

Satan is doomed and bound for hell.

There will be a great event at the end of time and all evil and it’s consequences will be destroyed forever.

It’s not as complicated as you’d think (or as the so-called experts try to make it seem). The Bible doesn’t really give us an order of events, but there are some certainties…

And the devil knows it. This is how Satan dies.

Hear the account of David - a middle eastern man who took a savage beating for his faith.

Matthew 10 has always seemed “distant” because suffering for Jesus like that hasn’t been a threat in American culture.

It is a threat in other cultures. Right now. David has had to decide if he would confess or deny Jesus.

What about you? It may be peer pressure. It may be physical threats that will arrive at our doorstep in coming years. Will you deny or confess?

It may be that way when you hope for respect from someone else because you don’t control that respect given.

But when it comes to your responsibility as God’s child, you’d better not use that lie to excuse yourself.

Hell was not even created for you nor any other human! Matthew 25

In love, there is a choice. God loves you and gives you the choice to love Him - all the while He’s begging and pleading and having Jesus pay the price for sin.

If I end up in hell it will be because I chose Satan; because I chose evil as a way of life; because I rejected God.

It will NOT BE BECAUSE GOD WANTS IT that way. In fact, Jesus has not yet been sent back because of God’s patience and desire that no one meets this fate. 2 Peter 3

No one likes it.

Everyone can see it in someone else.

Some can handle it well, while others hardly, if ever, admit to it.

Being wrong - whether it’s incorrect thinking or action.

For those who struggle in their reaction, this one will take hard honesty. Cain was rejected with an explanation and encouragement to do better - he killed his brother. Simon was harshly corrected by an apostle demanding repentance - he begged forgiveness. Which one are you?

This video and focus on Ephesians 4 can help you with questions and problems such as: • I don’t know where I fit in my congregation. • Why does my congregation seem weak and uninteresting? • I’m not getting much out of “church.” • I wish I was more like ________ so I could be effective in the church. • What’s wrong with the church today?

Jesus worked so hard to establish this wonderful assembly of people He bought with His blood - the church. It was designed and determined before the foundation of the world, and the design and intended functions are perfect. What is imperfect are the humans who’ve been added through grace and faith.

For these and more reasons, God is showing you in Ephesians 4 how important your part is. The roles and gifts we’ve been given differ only in function, not value.

Do you realize how much you are needed? Do accept your responsibility in your role? Will you work properly for the Lord and His special body of people?

This is his testimony of where he was before Christ, how he came to obey Jesus’ gospel, and the difference his relationship with God has made in his life.

It’s a personal and intimate look into the mindset of a young man who was confused and found clarity in serving the Lord.

Mac has been a great encouragement to his brethren - his fire and desire to be honest and grow is refreshing. He’s also faced a lot of criticism for this honesty and change, and that makes his testimony all the more effective and appreciated.

The evil trends in our American society vex me too.

We need to be warned about them too, like Paul was doing for Timothy in this letter.

We also need perspective. These “last days” are more than 2,000 years old now, and you should see the warnings in this chapter. They line up with problems in our society and culture more than you might think.

God is always with you and He intends for that to be a great comfort. It also serves as a great reminder when I think no one else knows...

Just like God’s presence, time alone is double-sided. It can be really healthy and useful, but dangerous. Alone is when you think no one else sees, no one else hears, and no one else knows. God does.

This isn’t a threat. It’s just a reminder that I’m never getting away with anything.

Perhaps I’ll remember that when I’m alone tempted. Perhaps you’ll remember that before you do something you’d never choose if someone was there with you or if our thoughts were on display like a billboard.

I hope it helps with your focus and realization.

You pretend to represent our Lord - you disrespect Him and His graciousness.

You think you’re standing for the truth - you’re standing for yourself while looking down at your “opponents.”

You think you’re teaching - you’re actually destroying.

Your arrogance is appalling and not appreciated, and frankly, you need to get your heart right, learn humility, and learn look at souls the way your Father does.

If you want to continue to tear down people while pretending to share the truth, it would be better if you never posted or commented. You’d be better at helping to save people by saving your words.

If you know so much about the truth, then you should know better than to ever personally belittle another person, their beliefs, and possibly their misunderstanding.

At first glance this looks like a mean and unloving lesson from Jesus. What - we don’t deserve a “thank you”?!? We don’t deserve a break or rest at all?

This is why a balanced knowledge of the Bible is so important. Jesus doesn’t even view us as servants or slaves, but as friends and family. But this relationship IS conditional. You do get to be close to Jesus IF you continue in doing the will of the Father.

It is highly important I maintain a servant mentality while I am here - which is EXACTLY what our savior did who coincidentally “made Himself nothing” in His earthly service just to be murdered on a cross.

We will be rewarded in full one day. We are appreciated and valued by God. But our American culture is proof of the dangers associated with putting self first.

This teaching of Jesus seeks to help remove self so He might live in us.

It’s an intriguing question that’s caused some confusion.

You might be surprised at how easily this question is answered and where the answers are located.

Also, somewhat related is devil worship. Maybe that’s just because topics like this are often lumped together.

What comes to mind when you think of devil worship? It’s probably not even remotely close to relating to you in your mind. Yet, you mind be surprised again by what you learn here when you allow yourself to think it through.

In this parable, Jesus contrasts a self-righteous religious man against a man with a job that makes him loathed by most in the Jewish community.

One is a well respected expert in the Old law and the other is a dismissed “traitor” to his own people by working for the Roman government.

One holds his head high before, counting his good deeds, while the other cannot lift his eyes toward heaven because of his guilt.

This is a lesson praising humility and shunning self-righteousness. We Christians are awfully tempted to follow the lead of the Pharisee and look down our noses at the publican-types.

How?!? How can my home be destroying my faith?

BECAUSE YOU’RE STAYING IN IT TOO MUCH when you could be with your brethren!!

If you think I don’t understand the dangers of COVID - don’t. If you think I haven’t seen the devastation and don’t care - don’t.

Worse than than these is the destruction of faith I’ve seen in my brothers and sisters who haven’t taken God seriously when He told us not to neglect the gathering of ourselves together.

As usual, we have to decide what is the greater danger and many are choosing physical over spiritual.

One social media post said, “If the only thing you’re quarantining from is church - you’re doing it wrong.”

Taking a look at Jesus walking on water and Peter going out to meet Him while having his faith tested.

Matthew 14:22-33

Main points of emphasis: • Jesus was there the whole time, only Peter’s focus changed • The fearful distractions do just that - distract • Thinking about what could happen makes you forget about what is happening • Moments of faithlessness happen to the strongest • It’s not just crazy that Peter was scared - have you ever walked on water in the middle of a storm?

It’s not a word as commonly used outside of religious circles and discussions. Yet it’s the core of that from which God has been working to save humanity.

It is the great separator, and it destroys lives. God hates it, cannot be around it, and will not tolerate it.

We sometimes excuse it, devise lesser descriptions to accommodate it, and are tempted to do so every day.

So what exactly is sin. Here’s a general description.

Have a great attitude! Life and your attitude is what YOU make it, and if it isn’t good, THEN CHANGE IT!!

Sounds like a threat, doesn’t it? Hey, God isn’t just demanding you think a certain way just because He wants it. It’s for your benefit as well!

He’s carved out a wonderful way to live now - not just in heaven.

I know you could use some relief from all the negativity and bad news. Here it is! And anyone willing and able can have this mind, attitude, and outlook on life!

So enough with brothers and sisters - Christians acting like it’s all going downhill. Enough of waiting for the “right” circumstances to have the right attitude.

Listen to this and use it.

Probably not a popular view or subject for some.

It isn’t intended to be exhaustive, but we take a general look at the outlook a Christian should have under any government.

The hopeless talk among God’s people has to stop! We are more than the country we live in and the government that rules us. We have a much greater hope than any office or candidate can provide.

While we’re here though, so long as they don’t demand we contradict God’s laws, we are to be obedient and honorable while praying for those who rule over us.

(Credit to Neal Pollard for this idea)

The title speaks for itself, and it may make you uncomfortable. The truth is the media has suckered a lot of us into focusing on the earth and the things we treasure here.

The focus is weakening many of us and Satan is distracting us for the spiritual kill while tempting us to believe these present dangers are the greatest problems.

I AM NOT MAKING LIGHT OF THIS VIRUS OR ITS CONSEQUENCES.

I know of many who’ve died from Covid. Recently, two faithful elders in the church, godly men, lost their lives to the virus. Given their likely place in paradise right now, I wonder what their message to us would be could they send one.

These were spiritually healthy men who paid the ultimate carnal price. Yet, the real problem threatens the souls of millions of physically healthy people.

You don’t flirt with this virus. Don’t engage the sickness that will destroy you ultimately.

FOLLOWING JESUS IS COSTLY

Telling our culture they are wrong has not exactly brought about change, more like push back, actually.

The New Testament does speak of the sins of the First Century, but to admonish Christians not to return.

Judging the world was not the priority of the church.

I Corinthians 5:9-13

The great power of Christianity is in showing the transformation that has taken place in Jesus. The light of Christlike lives is the means by which the church is to reprove the world.

Ephesians 5:11-13

This, of course, requires a greater personal investment than to simply call people out. This explains why Jesus asks for just such an investment.

Matthew 10:38-39

How do I know Jehovah is the God? It would take years to explore every entity that claims God-status. Instead, let me show you an aspect of Jehovah’s identity that is singular to Him (as far as I’m aware).

This is not the only separation between God and all others claiming His name, but it’s amazing to me that Jehovah serves His subjects and caters to our every need. We are the creation, and He is the creator. We are the clay, and He is the potter. Yet, in His great love He makes Himself available to us.

I don’t know of another claiming to be God that is a servant. For those who are His, this should bolster your faith and help you answer honest seekers. For those who don’t follow God, hopefully this information intrigues you to look further.

I’m not offering this as proof. I cannot “prove” God to you, just as cannot “prove” He doesn’t exist. Faith involves belief and this is one more reason God makes it so easy to believe in Him.

You love someone. What if that someone only loved you and showed that love because they felt like they had to? What if they did everything a loving person does according to “the book” but there was no real passion in how they did it?

Those are absurd questions. Equally absurd is believing God feels loved in a relationship like that.

Doing WHAT God wants is vital. But He is greatly interested in the HOW as well.

In fact, you CANNOT do everything according to the Bible without this fervent desire. Because that just isn’t love and love is the greatest commandment.

Are you on fire for God? Are you boiling over in your love for Him?

Here some benefits of this passion the Bible calls zeal.

We may not feel like it sometimes and we may not completely understand how it works, but God is always near.

In fact, He isn’t just near us - HE IS IN US!

That’s closeness in a relationship you will not find anywhere else and it’s with the God of the universe! God has said that a man and a woman in marriage become one flesh and this relationship is even greater.

Follow us through these passages to learn a greater appreciation and reason to celebrate joyously.

Guilt and conscience certainly have places in a relationship with God. It’s what keeps me and you aware of sin and in check.

But it can too far and hold you back in a distorted sense of failure and the devil will use it against you.

Here are five lies from a guilty conscience you need to be aware of and know how to help others combat.

I don’t know of anything more powerful said by Jesus to those who’ve left Him than the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15.

Of course the idea is to never leave God and abandon that relationship. But it happens. It could be you.

And if it is, Jesus has shared a parable so you’ll know exactly how you’ll be received by God when you return. That’s part of the point in this video - you can return as His child. He will not just allow you back, He will welcome you back and celebrate.

It’s just wonderful of you never leave God. But what happens when you do? How do you return and start over? Hopefully this video helps and encourages.
