We're back from our break! We went through the preliminary results of the NBA all-star votes, and spoke about the shoo-ins and who should make it. Almost the entire starting 5 of the Lakers were voted by fans - no surprise for Viz. The Knicks are good again, why is it working? The Nets have been dominating, have won 12 straight - are they the team to beat in the East? Utah's Cinderella run has normalized - should they now tank? Jeff and Viz talks about how good the Suns have been over the past week and why they're good. LeBron continues his quest for history and Kai loses his shoe deal. Elvis likes the Pelicans' City Jerseys, and remembers Mario Elie when looking at the Rockets' throwback-inspired design. The NBA City Jerseys round up the PLUS for the week. The Lakers are becoming MINUS mainstays, while the Wolves appear to be lost after landing the Stifle Tower during the offseason. Cheers!
New BuhayBasket segment where we talk about the positive and negative storylines that happened during the week in the NBA. This week Jeff and Elvis start with the MINUS, specifically the drama of Kyrie and the Nets; the Lakers ('nuff said), and the struggling defending champs, the Warriors. On PLUS or positive things that happened: the Jazz and the Blazers are supposed to be tanking, but they're winning! Then you have the top 2 teams in the East in the Bucks and the Cavs, and the episode ends with the surging rookies this early in the season. Cheers!

Russell Westbrook is now a Laker. This is huge for the team as they have been looking for a player to help Anthony Davis and LeBron James in their pursuit of another NBA championship. Russell brings experience, athleticism and leadership to the team and will look to lead them back into contention next season! Will it work? The Chicago Bulls have surrounded superstar Zach Lavine with some really good pieces. They added Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso. Along with the acquisition of Nikola Vucevic last season, the Bulls seem like they can make some noise in the Eastern Conference. Have they built a true contender?
Julo said watching Giannis win the NBA Championship was like watching a Disney movie. Which is not to say the Bucks' championship is a "Mickey Mouse" championship. It was like a movie with Giannis as the young Buck who dared to believe that he could conquer the NBA world.
How's that for a storybook ending, eh?
