It’s well known that good communication is the foundation of any successful relationship, whether personal or professional. It's important to recognize, though, that it's our nonverbal communication—our facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture, and tone of voice—that speak the loudest. The ability to understand and use nonverbal communication, or body language, is a powerful tool that can help you connect with others, express what you really mean, and build better relationships.

Leading is all about influence. How you present yourself in a leadership role affects your ability to successfully leverage authority and motivate others. Do you inspire people to follow your lead?

Today's Guest is Joe Yazbeck who is an internationally known Master Speaker and Trainer among his many other accomplishlishments.  Mr. Yazbeck is a New York Times Best Selling Author and the author of the extraordinary book No Fear Speaking.

Royal Guest Experts Amanda Littlefield and Marilyn Braun

The House of Windsor has a new addition!  On May 2, 2015, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge was born at 8:34 a.m. London time.  With the given name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, the Princess entered into this world with as much pageantry and fanfare as one would expect for a royal. Following the birth of Princess Charlotte, many landmarks were lit pink including Tower Bridge, London Eye, and the Trafalgar Square.  One thing is certain, the British love their monarchy!

Of note, Princess Charlotte is scheduled to be christened on July 5, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.  Coincidentally, this is the same church in which Princess Diana was baptized.

On this episode, I have two royal experts as my guests to discuss everything from Princess Charlotte's lineage to her upbringing.  If you are a fan of the British royals, you won't want to miss the episode.  And even, if you're not, listen anyway to become one!

Time management is a disciplined mindset to be able to live in the moment while working toward the future. It is all mental—it’s an attitude.  Having control in your life is about commitment, routines, flexibility, adjustments, and planning.  We create our own self-limitations.  We say we’ll do tomorrow what we really want to do today.  Eliminate what’s holding you back.  “Time Management Manifesto” offers specific actions that will teach subscribers the following themes:

•           Manage your time, don’t let it manage you

•           Time management is required of all levels, in all positions

•           The benefits of managing professional time effectively spill into your personal space

What if you could accomplish more in a forty-hour week then your current fifty, sixty, or seventy-hour work week? What if your success was simply a matter of working smarter, not harder?  Good time management and organizational skills are a must for successful professionals. You’ll be challenged to strengthen your commitments and habits relating to time management and organizational skills without being a slave to it.  You will find the power of routines and people, while learning how to effectively deal with “fire drills” that will reduce stress, increase success, and ensure that you sleep better at night knowing your life is in control.

Judy Morris has worked as a Time-space feng shui professional and teacher for over 25 years and has clients throughout the United States, Caribbean, Canada and Europe. She is the first American certified to practice and teach Classical Chinese Feng Shui, and she is the first American designated as a Feng Shui Master through the Feng Shui Research Center founded by Master Joseph Yu.

She came to the feng shui profession from a successful 20+ year career as a management consultant, personal and business productivity coach. "My years as a consultant taught me to appreciate the impact our environments exert on our happiness, health, productivity and relationships," she recalls.

"I searched for a teacher who was grounded in this rich Chinese system. I was especially attracted to Toronto-based Master Yu because of his background is mathematics and physics," she recalls. "He is a scientist who set out to disprove Feng Shui and, in the process, became so convinced of its validity and power that he is recognized today as one of its most respected proponents." Master Yu is one of the top Classical Feng Shui Masters.

For years Judy searched for a Qi Gong master to assist her in having a deeper experience of the energies she works with in Feng Shui. Instead in 2004 she  met Dr. Barry A. Morguelan who is one of fewer than 10 who have successfully completed the training to help people connect to the underlying root energy and to teach others how to stay connected and use that connection successfully. Through the ongoing learning and employment of these practices under the expert supervision of Dr. Morguelan, she has been able to surpass the general expectations of her clients and students in the efficacy of the Feng Shui services she provides and teaches.

This episode's guest is Tom Dowd who is an expert in the area of public speaking.  Tom is an active member in Toastmasters International, a group of 300,000 members worldwide looking to develop communication and leadership skills. Tom joined in 2008 thinking it was just a way to boost his résumé. It became a wonderful downhill spiral of failure. Whether it was a speech contest or a publisher’s rejection, Toastmasters pushed him beyond his comfort zone to find self-awareness, belief that he could make a difference and the motivation to take smarter steps toward success both personally and professionally. What Tom found was a boost in confidence that changed the path of his life and career. In 2010-2011, he was awarded the District 45 Outstanding Toastmaster of the Year representing over 100 clubs in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and the three eastern most provinces of Canada. Now exhibiting consistent speech contest success, Tom is the two-time Table Topics District 45 champion for 2012 and 2013. Additionally, he is a member of the National Speakers Association and the Global Speakers Federation.

Tom Dowd, AKA Transformation Tom™, is a loving father of three beautiful daughters and a devoted husband from a small town in Maine. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Communication degree, concentrating on interpersonal and organizational communication. Tom is a prize-winning speaker, an award-winning and Amazon best-selling author, trainer, coach, and radio host—all spurred by his need to be more than a painfully shy and introverted individual on a rollercoaster ride of success.

Natural psychology is a brand new psychology of meaning.

Building on existential philosophy and psychology, it presents an up-to-date picture of life purpose centered on the idea of value-based meaning-making.

By accurately describing meaning as a psychological experience, by announcing that meaning must be made and not sought, and by providing a robust new vocabulary of meaning, natural psychology advances our understanding of the roots of emotional distress and provides a framework for authentic living.

Never run short of meaning or life purpose again!

New Zealand's John Martin has always lived life on the edge.  At age 13, he biked around New Zealand's East Cape.  At age 16, he made his first parachute jump.  At age 18, he purchased his first aircraft and learned to fly.  At age 21, he made New Zealand's first base jump and at 24 years old he obtained his commercial pilot's licence.

At age 26, he received burns to 70% of his body, face and hands when his crop dusting aircraft crashed and burned. He spent the next three months in intensive care in an induced coma, and underwent numerous medical procedures including skin grafting, debriding and reconstructive surgery. Within a year he returned to flying. He entered a partnership and purchased a branch of the company he previously worked for, providing the flying service to Motiti Island. A year later he set up his own Tandem Skydiving business which he still runs today.

In quieter times John spends time cruising around the Coromandel Coast on his yacht where he continues to explore his new found passion for writing. His first book, a short story called “Out of the Ashes” was used by several schools as a study aid and saw John listed with Celebrity Speakers NZ as a motivational speaker.  John’s story “Just Shut Up and Jump” is not of one of self pity but a testament as to what a positive approach and never say die attitude can achieve.

It wasn't until Jill Vanderwood became an author that she needed to overcome her fear of public speaking. She was asked to visit classrooms and give speeches to children, as well as teach workshops for other writers. She was terrified in front of audiences but told herself to never say "no" to a speech.

You will learn ten points to make your public speaking experience more manageable, plus stories from others who were faced with the prospect of losing their jobs if they didn't learn to speak in public.

Biography: Jill Vanderwood is a published author of six books who also teaches workshops to other writers.  She speaks to groups about overcoming the fear of public speaking.  She has been interviewed on radio, television, and newspaper media.  Trained through Toastmasters, she has to overcome her own public speaking fear which held her back for most of her life.

Mallory Hytes Hagan was crowned Miss America on January 12, 2013.  She represented the State of New York during the 2013 Miss America pageant where she won both the swimsuit and evening gown portions of the competition.  For her talent, she performed a tap number to James Brown's "Get Up Offa That Thing".   In addition to the $50,000 college scholarship as part of the Miss America award package, Mallory joined an elite sorority of women to hold the title of Miss America dating back to 1921.   Mallory's platform, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, is predicated on abuse suffered by members on her own family and is, therefore, very close to her heart.  Within 24 hours of her reign as Miss America, she was in communication with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan promoting awareness of child sexual abuse.   Mallory's major initiative as Miss America was to become a spokesperson for the Chidren's Miracle Network where she travelled approximately 20,000 miles per month in its support.     Mallory's future plans consist of becoming a global marketing director for a comestics company after earning her degree in cometics and fragrance marketing.   For more information, please visit www.missamerica.org

The Electoral College today bears only a superficial resemblance to the ingenious system the Framers of the Constitution created. Their system was designed to identify the best possible presidential candidates and place only statesmen in the executive office. This book is an in-depth analysis of the purpose and benefits of the original Electoral College System—a system which has been hidden (or rather ignored) for over two centuries. The original design is then contrasted to the current party-controlled system we use today. Discover, in a concise text, essential principles required to restore the Republic and American constitutional federalism.   Those who want to restore the principles of freedom, as established by the Framers in the original Constitution, will find this book indispensable.  The Authors: Freedom Coaches, Gary and Carolyn Alder proclaim the principles of freedom in their classes, lectures and writings. Gary spent his professional career as a computer programmer/system analyst. He takes a unique approach in analyzing the Constitution. His conclusions come from considering the original Constitution as the system specifications and determining how a government that followed those specifications would function. Carolyn loves to share specific quotes of the Founders as their words provide a window to look into their hearts and minds.  Website: http://www.freedomformula.us/

At 2130 Partners we believe everyone is a leader in their life regardless of their title or role at work. When people start to understand this and take on this perspective of themselves things start to shift. We have developed a proprietary methodology that we have used for over 20 years called, “Vision-Focused Leadership.” As the leader of your life, one of the most important things you can have is a vision for your life, or what we would call, “a Yonder Star.” This is different than having goals or objectives. A “Yonder Star” is developed by looking into the future and imagining that it has all worked out – that you are in a “Golden Age” of your life. What would that look like? What would it feel like? Where would you be? And more…From there we work backwards - what has to happen starting now, to get to where you want to be. It’s a combination of vision and action that can take our lives to new levels of success and satisfaction. Today’s rapid pace of life and work has produced an unparalleled opportunity for all of us to expand our leadership influence and impact. A key factor in being able to seize this opportunity is our capacity to demonstrate personal accountability and leadership regardless of our role or job title. Not surprisingly, this capacity is most often driven by clarity and purpose both of which result from a heightened level of self-awareness. Additionally, this clarity and purpose allow us to define our own personal leadership formula for work and life based on our unique set of skills, experiences and values. Since launching WorkChoice Solutions, LLC in 2000, David O’Brien has invested well over 10,000 hours exploring the wide realm of leadership with a single question in mind. Namely, what separates truly great leaders from all of the rest? To be sure, this pursuit has been a learning continuum driven by countless conversations with leaders and teams all over the world as well as considerable reading, writing and self-reflection. The Discovering The Leader In You process represents the sum of this continuum as well as a framework for creating a deeper level of influence, impact and joy in all areas of our lives. Many of us are stuck in a less than satisfying existence just marking time. We yearn for a life with more passion, meaning, purpose and/or authenticity. However, trapped deep down are old grievance stories and forgotten agreements with ourselves that lead us to believe we don’t deserve better. We’re seriously challenged to continue living the current version of life we can hardly wait to replace. Yet, at the same time, we feel we need to be “fixed” somehow before we deserve better. So, we’re caught in a nearly impossible catch-22 of wanting to be/have more or better, but not feeling deserving until we are more or better. What a dilemma! This dilemma is ultimately created by how we judge ourselves and our lives, including chastising ourselves for having taken detours in our lives and/or having fallen off our path. What if you knew that there ultimately are no detours, and that you cannot miss the life you were born to lead? What if it’s just a matter of shifting your perspective to be able to see how everything you’ve done ultimately prepares you for the life of your dreams? What if you knew you’re absolutely fine just as you are and just where you are right now to deserve the life you want? In this interview, Dr. Alice Chan will share practical insights on how we can reframe how we look at ourselves and our lives to embrace our power to create the life we want--NOW! www.dralicechan.com

More than ninety percent of women of different social strata claim that envy and jealousy toward other women colors their lives. Ninety percent of women in diverse jobs also report that competition in the workplace is primarily between other women, rather than between women and men. With women comprising over fifty percent of the workforce, a new dynamic has emerged.  Women find themselves working with each other in large numbers on all levels of the corporate structure for the first time.  While one would think this would create harmony and a supportive workplace atmosphere, it often fosters power struggles.  Enter Katherine Crowley and Kathi Elster. "Your Richly Imagined Future” is not just a platitude about being a better person - it is about having a greater impact on the people you associate with and developing a solid financial future at the same time. Material will be drawn from Robert's Canadian bestseller "Rich is a State of Mind", showing the parallels between personal and financial development, and how our concerns about personal finance directly affect our lives and our relationship with the people around us. During the discussion Robert will share with you his thoughts about financial leadership, discuss the myths of “financial happiness”, and provide insights into financial questions you may be thinking about, but don't know how to ask your advisor  (or may simply be too afraid to…). "Your Richly Imagined Future" covers multiple topics including Motivation, Leadership, Fiscal Responsibility and Financial Growth. How you deal with these topics is critical to your ability to deal with life’s everyday events with the goal of developing solid long-term relationship with your finances. Cassidy Phillips is a biomechanical specialist concentrating on sports performance, injury prevention, and the muscular structure that supports the efforts of the body in motion. His objective is to recognize the biomechanical challenges of movement and actions of everyday life and marry them with the biomechanical inefficiencies recognized within patterns of movement defined by a sport of choice or through sedentary patterns of movement such as sitting, walking, and running. Once told that he could never be an athlete again due to a muscular dysfunction called Fibromyalgia, it became his personal mission to understand muscular structure and the regeneration of dysfunctional muscle tissue. Instead of going through the traditional methods of schooling in fear that his out-of-the-box approach would be squashed, Phillips tackled countless hours of research to better understand the various methods of massage, chiropractic care, surgical procedures, and the treatment of traditional injuries in sport due to repetitive motion. Phillips gained a solid foundation on Myofascial Release Techniques, a form of massage to address the muscle spindle and the associated dysfunction such as trigger points, adhesions, and other muscular challenges. This process also retrains the pattern of movement by opening up the neurological pathway allowing greater muscular proprioception. After a long process of trial and error, he married his newly found education to his biomechanical background. The result is a line of patented products--called Trigger Point Technologies (TPT)--that mirror the feeling of the human hand. Athletes and non-athletes from around the world have used Phillips and TPT products to implement the use of Myofascial release with the TPT tools with incredible and sometimes life-altering results.

Melody’s work features small affordable art and miniature paintings which she creates with a combination of colored pencil, India ink, watercolor, and acrylic and sells online. Melody creates tiny art of fantasy beings (like fairies and mermaids) woodland animals, and illustrates children’s books. Being a passionate supporter of animal charity and Co Leader of Art For Critters, a percentage of her art goes toward animals in need! Melody’s work features small affordable art and miniature paintings (ACEOs) which she creates with a combination of colored pencil, India ink, watercolor, and acrylic. Is Melody an artist who can also talk to animals—or a lover of fur and paws who also draws like a dream? Her fans can’t tell where one gift ends and another begins. All they know is that the combination has led to some pretty interesting life circumstances, from teaching art in a chicken coop to composing watercolors on horseback. And that may also be why Melody’s renderings of fairies and forest vistas seem as alive as her portraits of horses and cats. All creatures great or small, real or imaginary, inspire Melody’s brush. Having done her time at art school and the gallery scene, with a successful series of commissions along the way, Melody now paints miniature masterpieces in the Berkshire Mountains while tending to a menagerie that includes a horse, a husband, three cats, two kids, and a dog.

Christy Rach is a 32 year old Obstetric Fistula survivor. At 30, when Christy went into labor, and delivered her baby, she had never heard of an obstetric fistula, but she quickly found out what it was. It was the most horrific and devastating condition that a new mother can live with. It took away her dignity, and ability to live a normal life for 15 months. After seeing countless surgeons trying to find someone who could repair her fistula, her search came to an end at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in March of 2010. Christy went in for surgery in May of 2010, and to this day is fistula free. She currently runs a support group called "Living With Obstetric Fistula" where women who are victims or survivors of obstetric fistula can share their stories or receive much needed support during this difficult time in their lives.
