In this episode, Nicole talks with actor and producer  Euseph Messiah to share his story and talk about not being content with settling in life.

Although he started his post-college life at a low-economic time in 2007, he decided to invest in himself and go after what he always wanted to do- acting. He shares what mindset has made his successful with his career. One huge message he has is proper preparation prevents poor performance. Nothing is going to ever be given to you. At least the things that are worth being rewarded. Be properly prepared.

You have to have a mindset to understand that the failures are going to add up but you have to be able to be properly prepared to know that that’s just going to take you where you want to go.

How else are we supposed to grow unless we have those bumps and bruises? A mindset matters. Those failures are only going to help you. It’s a season not a setback. Learn to just ride with it. You can never be the best at anything but do the best that you can.

In this episode of Take Action, Nicole shares her heart regarding the racism that has been exposed yet again. She asks, "Are we really one?"

She speaks on how it broke her heart to see the disregard for people being black. Their lives are snuffed out, being murdered in broad daylight and nobody doing anything and in the hands of people that we’re supposed to trust.

There is one race- the human race. We all want equity and fairness. God made us this way, it’s that simple. She shares three things she practices and why they’re so beneficial for everyone to open up to: Openness, being non judgmental, getting rid of the excuses.

This week, Nicole talks about why it is hard to make the decisions that we know we need to make. She wants us all to understand it's ok to not know everything. It's ok to struggle with how you feel. It's all about giving yourself liberty to be honest to yourself.

Nicole opens up to us about a time two years when she was afraid to make a decision to make a big change. There were so many things at work that she'd become comfortable doing that she didn't want to make a shift anymore, but she knew she had to take that step.

Change isn't easy because it requires a lot of intentional focus.

Nicole shares a few things that helped her in making a major decision that made her uncomfortable:

  1. Being completely honest with yourself as to why you don't want to make the decision
Allow yourself to be honest. While we can't physically hide from ourselves, we can sometimes lie to ourselves. It could be because of expectations of other people or simply not believing in ourselves.

  2. It is OK that you want to decide about it
Once you made that decision either people will come alongside you, understand and grow with your decision or the relationship may change but it'll make room for those that are supposed to be with you going forward.

Change is not about perfection. It's about progress. Take the pressure off yourself. Now that you know it is ok to make that change, what are you going to do if there's some ambiguity around it?

The best person to be honest with is no other than yourself. Your decision is your open door to reality.

Nicole touches on finding that one person who you need to have a conversation with in order to be refreshed and move forward with your life.

There was a time in her life that she wanted to make a career change and focus on training and coaching in women's leadership development. Day after day, week after week, while she was trying to create and fulfill her role, she felt that she kept hitting a wall and couldn't figure out what it was. She found herself in a rut where It was difficult to be creative and meet deadlines. Her mind was very cluttered and her visions wasn't clear.

During this time Nicole began to even doubt herself and question her ability. Was it possible this was a sign that maybe she isn't destined to do such work. No one knew she was going through this. After weeks of thinking about it, she told her team that she needed to take a break.

She found the days passing and she still felt stuck until one day she heard a voice in her head saying "You need to have a conversation." As much as she wanted to be uncertain when she got clarity she realized that she's been avoiding this conversation for years.

She sat down one night and started to Facetime this person because she knew this couldn't just be a regular phone call. She was calling HER FATHER. Nicole and her father were emotionally distant for a very long time. Her parents got divorced which caused a wedge between them.

She decided that this conversation wasn't about blaming her father but instead, it's for her to be free and elevate.

Her dad listened to her and after she told him everything she needed to say to free her mind up, she lost her voice for some strange reason. She had to whisper the last few words to say, "I just felt you weren't supporting my dreams." After she said that, her voice came back.

After that conversation, all of her ideas about the business started to come back. All the strategies and confusion got back. Sometimes in our life, it's not about achieving all the things its about how we're moving forward. Sometimes, it's that one conversation that we refused to have before that's holding us back.

Nicole challenges us to think, is there someone you need to have a conversation with in order to move forward? It's not limited to your parents. It could be your child, spouse, friend, cousin, even yourself. It will change your whole life from the inside out, and everything will follow.

Nicole kicks off her pilot episode as she talks about why everything is happening right now.

There is a time and season for everything. Nicole reminds us that If you have a calling to do something big and it feels as if the desire won't leave you alone, you need to act on that as quickly as possible, especially when it involves helping others.

Nicole believes we are prepared for what are currently facing. There is a fighter lying in the depths of everyone of our hearts and spirit. You'll be amazed on the creativity you possess once the fighter within you comes out.

Nicole reminds us that you may not realize it now but what you have is something that the world may need. Just look at the people around you. There's something you can do in the life of other people to make a difference. This time is a gift because everything has slowed down, which is perfect for everyone to think about things deeply in order to make favorable decisions in life.

Compassion will move you to act. Where is your compassion? Let it compel you to do the action you need to take.
