“Communication with God does not require a certain physical position, but postures do give expression to the attitudes of our hearts.”

How do you pray? Standing, kneeling, sitting, lying down, or walking? Or - all of the above?

During today’s conversation, we continue along our journey toward a deeper revelation of prayer. The Bible provides many accounts of prayer and details the different postures accompanied by those prayers. Today, we dive into understanding the various postures of prayer and their significance.

“Prayer is talked about more than anything else and practiced less than anything else.” And yet, for the believer, prayer remains one of the greatest gifts and most powerful weapons our Lord has given us outside of Salvation. Why then is it the least practiced?

During today’s conversation, we dive deep into how vitally important prayer is and why we should be more intentional to do it - whether we want to/like to. To have a more powerful and effective prayer life, you must first have a profound understanding of your spiritual identity and, second, take the correct position in prayer.

It’s time for you to see what you say and realize just how powerful you are! Join the conversation if you’re ready to take your prayer life to the next level!

Though Paul learned to be content with material things (Phil 4:11), he was never content with spiritual achievements because the goal was to be like Christ (something we can never achieve.) Though impossible, it is still a goal we as Christians ought to strain towards. To strain means to make a strenuous or unusually great effort, a severe or excessive demand on strength, resources, or abilities of something or someone. But, to put a demand on anything, you must already have it. Thus, we must build up our strength (endurance), resources, and abilities for the time when God puts a demand on us.

Think of running a marathon. If you don’t properly train and put your body through strenuous activity, you can pull a muscle or affect your morale. When God puts a demand on us, we don't want to spiritually or naturally hurt ourselves or others. To avoid harm, Train for the Strain. That involves preparing ourselves naturally (physically, emotionally, relationally, financially, etc.) and spiritually. Listen to the Season Finale, so you can identify if you are in training season or straining season. Learn how to train properly, so you don’t harm yourself during the strain. Join the conversation!

To sack a city, you attack the gates. If you have the keys to the gate, you have authority over the city because gates are dominion places and provide access. In the bible, we see the many functions of “Gates”: for protection, as social hubs, where judgments and key decisions were made, where the prophets delivered messages, and where the economy was controlled. If we consider these physical gateways as representations of spiritual gateways, we see how essential it is to actively possess our gates and not let them slip into the hands of the enemy. Allowing the devil to control our gates gives the enemy access and dominion over our entire lives (economically, socially, politically, etc.) In today’s episode, we discuss the importance of possessing your gates AND taking back the gates (territory) the enemy stole/ has current dominion over. The title speaks for itself. How serious are you taking the things of God? How watchful are you over your assignment? It’s easy to get comfortable, there’s the temptation to be lazy or slip back into old habits, but we have to remain attentive because the enemy is prowling around seeking whom he may devour. The devil is WAITING for you to slip up. Don’t get caught slippin’! Join the conversation!

Peace isn’t a destination; it’s a state of being. Worry, fear, and anxiety tend to take up space in our minds, rent-free, but we must relinquish it all to God by focusing on Him. He already promised us peace! It’s up to us to receive it. Join the conversation!

Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are saved by the blood and adopted as God’s child, His kin! But our kinship shouldn’t stop there. Kinship not only means relation by blood but is also defined as a sharing of characteristics. As Christians, we should seek kinship with Jesus not just by the blood but by character. As Christians, our character should reflect Christ’s character! Unfortunately, that isn’t always the case. Are you just a believer, or are you Jesus’ kin? Join the conversation!

Unforgiveness is a torturer. God calls us to forgive a person who's wronged us 70 x 7 times. But what if the person you’re supposed to forgive is you? In this episode, we discuss extending grace to ourselves so that we can move forward. Join the conversation!

We can control our thoughts. Not just by natural will power (because that is limited), but by God’s Spirit that dwells inside of God’s children. We speak of power and authority when casting out demons and binding and loosing. It is the same power and authority we have over our own minds! So, 1. Acknowledge that you are having a thought that isn’t innocent or pure; 2. Judge your thought (not the situation) as something raised against God; and 3. Take it captive! Join the conversation!

God will use anything to get you into a position of purpose, including your “pretty.” Esther was chosen to be the King’s wife because she was beautiful. Once Esther was Queen, she was in her position of purpose (Esther 4:14), which allowed her to save her people from extermination. But Esther was in that position because she received favor because of her appearance. What has God given you as a form of ministry that will open up the doors for you to be properly positioned in the place where God has called you to affect change? Join the conversation (and please excuse the technical difficulties)!

Do you rely on your own righteousness or your own good works to justify your salvation? Guess what? Good works don’t get you into Heaven! John 14:6 teaches us that no one gets to the Father (God) except through JESUS! If we count our own good works for our salvation, that discounts the work of Jesus Christ. Plus, our standards of “good” may differ from God’s standard, and we will always fall short of God’s standard (Romans 3:23). Don’t be so caught up in just being a good person because there are plenty of good people in Hell. It’s not just about being a good person; it’s about being more like Christ. Join the conversation!

In today’s episode, we talk to the people preparing for elevation and the people in the midst of elevation, figuring out how to navigate the new space. But don't fret! There is preparation before the release of every promise. Join the conversation!

God refines us like silver and tests us like gold so that our true nature and character in Him can shine and come out. But God also wants us to test the things presented to us (relationships, opportunities, images, advice, etc.) with intelligent love (knowledge and discernment) so that we’re able to approve what is excellent and of true value. As Christians, we must differentiate by testing, whether between good and evil, temporal and eternal, wisdom and folly, nature and spirit, etc. In episode 17, we discuss how and why we test and approve the things presented to us in this world. Everything you need is found in the presence of God. God’s presence releases His glory unto us. As believers, it’s what distinguishes us and sets us apart from all the other people on Earth. Much like Moses, you should never want to move forward in your day (or any aspect or area of your life) without it. In this episode, we discuss the difference between “going through the motions” and experiencing the benefits of God's presence. One major benefit of His presence? His glory. To learn more about the power, presence, and glory of God, join the conversation!

*Glory – God’s kingly rule or sovereignty and His presence; the total of God’s complete attributes including all of God’s sovereign GRACE, FAVOR, GOODNESS, MAJESTY, and MERCY.

During an October Covenant Conversation (Episode 24,) we saw the need to enter into corporate prayer and reclaim territory. God told our community to go into warfare through prayer and "take back what the enemy stole!" The atmosphere was shifted, strongholds were broken, and God sent a word down for everyone on the call. The Prayer Call was so powerful, God told us to hold space for monthly corporate prayer!  For the month of November, we joined in prayer to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving and an offering of praise!   Join us next Thursday for another Conversation and next month for another Prayer Call!

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:1 NKJV. In the Old Testament, slain (dead) beasts were presented as sacrifices. But we are no longer under the Old! We live in the New Testament where Paul BEGS us to present our bodies as living sacrifices. If it's not dead, that means the sacrifice still has use and purpose. Thus, as living sacrifices, we are asking the Lord to USE us! But it's not enough that we use our bodies. Bodily exercise without the proper heart posture and attitude is of no avail. Lifeless (heartless) performance of going through the motions is not us sacrificing our life. Our bodies-- whole souls and bodies, all the powers and faculties, and members of our bodies--are to be used as our reasonable service. Let's talk about truly living sacrificially. In such difficult times, when the world needs love, as Christians, we should be stellar exemplars of that love. The bible tells us to love one another, for love comes from God. In fact, God is love! For us to love anyone (God, a neighbor, ourselves), we must first know God. Do you have difficulty loving others, including your enemies? Let's talk!

We all have a little "Doubting Thomas" inside of us...being swayed by what we see, standing on what we can feel, putting our assurance and hope in the natural. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things NOT seen." Belief is at the core of Christianity, yet doubt quickly trickles in when faced with various obstacles. Today, we discuss the importance of discovering the root of our lack of faith and then INTENTIONALLY asking God to increase our faith and silence our inner doubting Thomas.

Let's talk!
