Welcome to Memoir, a podcast by and about your parents and grandparents. This started as a project for my Mom and Grandma. I wanted to record and publish the stories that my grandma, Possie, is so great at telling. Partially because we wanted a family record, partially because we wanted them to be accessible to any of us no matter where (and when) we were, and partially because we wanted something a little more produced and entertaining than a simple voice recording. Once we were done, we realized there was no reason to stop and that other people might have stories they want to share and have access to forever and in any format, so we made Memoir. Episode 2 of the Possie Podcast is now out! This is a continuation of the podcast recorded at Christmas of 2018. We talk just a bit more about the secret forts of the old Possie abode in Houston but then move on to her time growing up in Richland WA, where her father, unbeknownst to her was a crucial component of the Manhattan Project. I’m sorry this took so long. This was recorded at Christmas of 2018. The first episode of the Possie Podcast. Just listening to Possie’s voice while making this was a soothing, comfortable experience. Her story telling is focused and well performed and she is a warm and charming human being. In this first episode, part 1 of many, we chat mostly about the house in Houston that she just left behind and a couple of fun stories that we had to get in, mainly, WTH is a “Possie???”
