Portsmouth Academy For Girl celebrated the relaunch of their school radio station this week. At their school assembly and in front of the Lord Mayor, the radio team played out their first broadcast, and now plan to train other girls throughout the year groups in presentation and interview skills.
The girls are also the first secondary pupils in the city to be trained by Express FM as part of their new community news hub concept.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) will open a major exhibition to commemorate the Battle, 36 Hours: Jutland 1916. This will be the most comprehensive exhibition ever staged on the subject, and will highlight the essential role of the British Royal Navy in winning the First World War. At the exhibition, Cheryl spoke to Jock McGrigor, son of Sir Rhoderick McGrigor who fought at Gallipoli, Jutland and in the Second World War.

Today, on the 100th anniversary of the declaration of the first world war, Portsmouth Football Club unveiled a memorial to the Pompey Pals paying tribute to the battalions who recruited at Fratton Park.
The teams new home kit was also launched today, which incorporates the names of the fallen Pompey Pals in the pattern of the shirt.
