As two 21/22 year olds living in Chicago, Erin Reynolds and Marykate O'Meara often find themselves trying to navigate the waters in between youth and adulthood. Monday nights at 9PM CT at radio.depaul.edu, your two lovely hosts explore these complexities among a variety of other topics surrounding current events, lifestyle, and everything IN BETWEEN.
In this episode, Erin and Marykate are joined by a music aficionado, Benji Shefler, to discuss the merging of music and film genres and what affect that has on the industries and cultures surrounding it. We examine Lil Nas and Billy Ray's "Old Town Road" and other examples such as Maggie Rogers, Bebe Rexha, Hulu's Atlanta, etc.
In this episode, Erin and Marykate are joined by their great friend, Christian Heinzel, in an intriguing discussion of weddings, would you rather, and werewolves (maybe).
In this episode of The In Between, Erin and Marykate welcome two guests on the show, Julian Martinez and Yael Reynolds, who discuss their experiences of living between two cultures. Julian, whose mother immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico before he was born, details his experience of growing up in American culture while balancing his Mexican culture. Yael, who moved to the U.S. from Israel when she was in her 30's, discusses her persistent feeling of foreignness and various cultural clashes she has encountered, particularly when she was raising her children.
In this episode, Erin and Marykate analyze the way in which women often face social pressure to either hold a career or motherhood, and are not given equal opportunity to do both and are often forced to pick one or the other.
