Silence. Waiting. 400 years.
And then Jesus was born… God entering the world.
Hope had come.
And yet…. Many did not realize.
Do we realize his coming in our own lives and days? What about when he feels silent or distant from our real struggles?
When you don’t know how to express how you’re feeling– a great place to turn is the Psalms. Real people expressing real emotions, real questions, to God.
So today let’s pause with a Psalm, and allow yourself to feel whatever you need to feel.
Psalm 42:1-4
As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”

As Jesus and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus.
