The kingdoms of the world could hardly be more different than the kingdom Jesus has in mind. His cannot be reduced to a Roman or Jewish or Christian kind of kingdom. Nor is it enough to say that God’s kingdom is opposite of ours; it has to be “more than”. More than a “place”, God’s Kingdom is an embodied reality. What does it look and sound like in this world? Have you ever gone someplace expecting something good, but what you experienced was even better? That's what happened with the folks following Jesus.
The human tendency is to treat others, especially when we disagree with them, with disdain, animosity and ugliness. The God way is to treat others, even when we disagree with love, respect, bringing joy into their lives. We are called to walk in "The Way of Love”
The story of Jesus feeding the multitude reminds us to take time to sit and take in the spirit of God, enjoy the abundance of God's bounty, and generously give to others. Eat, Pray, Love We receive God’s blessing when we sit down We need to receive what Christ has to offer us. What God has given us, we should share with others.
We are blessed to have been chosen We are blessed to be forgiven We are blessed that we are not trapped by our past.

When facing challenges depend on God. When facing challenges ask God for courage. When facing challenges open yourself to God’s power and presence.
No one is immune from facing difficult situations in our lives. We all have our own "storms" we must face. Just remember, God suffers with us and God's presence can give us courage.
If there was one sin that got under Jesus' skin, it was the sin of hypocrisy. We all have a bit of hypocrisy in us. The only way we can defeat it is by moving our faith from our lips to our lives.

The very essence of the Christian Faith is love--Love for God and love for others. That love is lived out in what we say and do. Love should be our identifying character.
Faith is not so much about sitting around contemplating the goodness of God, as it is about prodding you from your place of comfort to engage the world with God's goodness. Faith is moving. Faith is dynamic, forward looking. People like Abraham are achievers. The greatest acts of faith involve our relationship with others. An act of faith requires a leap of faith
Jesus' disciple, Thomas, is one of the most famous "Doubters" in history. But the truth is that we all have our doubts from time to time. God understands that. And in my opinion, the struggle can lead to a stronger, more mature faith. Many of us can identify with Doubting Thomas There comes a time when we move from doubts to faith. Christian faith can only be analyzed from the inside.
Sometimes, like Jesus' disciples after his crucifixion, we stand helplessly, hopelessly staring into the darkness. Jesus' resurrection gives hope to the darkest of situations. There was a sense of hopelessness among those who followed Jesus after the crucifixion. Help is closer than we think. The victory of Easter is available to anyone.
Sunday begins Holy Week with Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. All seems festive and celebratory. But Jesus knows what is coming later in the week. Let's observe this important time together. The expectation of the crowd on palm Sunday was misguided. God is still at work, even when we can’t see God. It is our job to make God visible to the world.

One of the major struggles of our society is coping with the fact that we are a diverse people. But God has told us that we are all God's children. We should be better at loving our family. We live in a remarkably diverse world. If God created all this diversity, it must be good. As God-followers, we must celebrate diversity and love our sisters and brothers who are different from us.
Our Salvation is a mystery which none of us is capable of fully understanding. But one thing is clear from the scriptures; it has something to do with Christ's death on the cross

Mary was obedient to God. God works through the least and lowest of people and places Christmas is the celebration of God’s greatest Gift---God’s Son.

Main Points: John was a man of great humility John was a man of great courage John was determined to shine the light on Christ.
Main Points: Paul was thankful for the faith and love of his fellow Christians. Paul put his thankfulness in action by praying for the church. Paul reminded his fellow Christians that the greatest reason to be thankful is their salvation through Christ.
The Religious leaders set the wrong example. They lacked humility. Their hypocrisy was even worse than their lack of humility. Jesus was disturbed by their hardness of heart.
In this service we remember the departed saints who have impacted our lives, and inspired us to be better people.
Love for God and Love for neighbor has to come before everything else, or the law has no purpose. If we love God, our lives will be aligned with God’s character and will. The best way to show our love to God is to love our neighbor.

Too often we live our lives pursuing goals that we think are worthwhile and meaningful, only to find out that they're not. Sometimes we need to reassess our goals in light of God's goals so we can better serve God.

The Ministry of Cold Water and Kindness. Matthew 10:40-42 (1) Jesus taught us to be hospitable to strangers (2) Showing kindness to strangers is what the Gospel is all about. (3) We do this because we were once strangers (4) Christ has offered hospitality to us.
