What is a covenant? Why did God make covenants at Horeb then at Moab? Of the covenants, which one - rather Who - cleansed our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God?
In spite of the problem of our hearts that are spiritually dead to the truth of reality, God offers us the solution : our Saviour. It is Christ Who is the mediator of the New Covenant. Jesus at the Cross Who died to set us free from the sins committed under the first covenant. That He would be our God, & that we would be His people.

Curses are the invisible spiritual barriers that prevent us from receiving the full blessings of God. To move from curses to God’s blessings, we need to make the right choice. We need to choose to obey God’s words. We need to identity the cause of a curse in our lives. We need to believe that Jesus has already made full the provision of blessings in our lives. We need to know that the work is finished when we accepted Christ in our lives. We need to renounce any allegiance with any foreign gods, repent and release. Then, we receive with thanksgiving God’s full blessings in our lives.

Our Heavenly Father promises to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, & the hearts of the children to their fathers before the second coming of His Son. By pouring forth the spirit of Elijah through the operation of the Holy Spirit in the church.
As prophesied in Malachi 4 : 5-6, hear how families are key in God’s end-time strategy alongside the ministry of Elijah that challenges the spirit of the age.
Then as promised in the same Scripture, hear how God out of His great love for us will restore families by revealing His heart to us. Through His Son, the Holy Spirit & the church.
In the absence of the Bible & the Holy Spirit, our only reference to the Heavenly Father’s love is our earthly fathers. But not every earthly father loves his children. But thank God for He is Father to the fatherless, & to His prodigal sons & daughters.
Earthly fathers, let’s ask our Heavenly Father to reveal His heart to us, to turn our hearts to our children. Let’s fight for our children’s heritage. Let’s fight for our marriage covenant & build family altars.

Do we pay back what others have done to us with eye for eye? Do we practise mercy and compassion when practising justice? Is it alright for us to have anger for justice? Jesus encourages us to do it differently. God provides gracious refuge for those seeking recourse for both justice and mercy out of a situation not of their own doing. It is far more important to look beyond the provision and to look to the provider. Look beyond the material to the spiritual.

When Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave the church the great commission and days later, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the church. It is time for us as a church to run our race well and nothing will stand in our way if we fight with the Spirit of the Lord and not with our own strength and flesh. The time has come for us to break through the walls we have put up and reconnect with the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit, we will never have to be discouraged, disillusioned and directionless.

The Levites had no inheritance but the Lord is their inheritance. They received a portion of the sacrifice. They depended God on their sufficiency. As the Israelites are moving into the promised land, there are certain principles that people of God must have before they enter the land. They must cleanse the land off any foreign gods and practices, set themselves apart and be aware not to combine God’s ways with the local ways. They must congregate, come back and celebrate together. They must only put their confidence in God. In the same way, we need to adopt the same posture. We can’t break all the traditions which are not Godly alone. We need God to help us break them. The Israelites were held in Egypt for 430 years. God needed 40 years to take the Egyptian culture out of them. How about us? Are we still clinging to our old cultures and beliefs?
