She's been gone for a minute, now she's back with the jump off... no but seriously it's been a while since I last posted an episode of this podcast. I have wanted to come back for a while but I didn't have the words to express what was going on with me. Today's episode seeks to do just that. Please sit tight for this candid conversation about what happened to me and what I plan on doing next.

Hey my little care bears.  I decided that we should probably have an honest conversation. I'm single. I know, I know. But to be completely honest with you guys I don't inherently mind being single. I think being single can be a well needed break from the monotony of constant relationships and constant social media posts, and really discuss why one should be single.

This  one is another episode that's off the cuff, and while usually I  would  include all references to the materials used to help formulate  some of  my ideas, which would be linked under the  References for TOEBW  tab on  my website, however this episode was recorded long before I created that tab.

As always, for additional information you can visit my website (which    is officially  live now) tregeekchic.com, you can follow me on all of my socials  @tregeekchic, or you could email me if you'd like at tregeekchic@gmail.com.

Hey my little care bears. I would like to first apologize for getting this episode out so late, I had a few technical difficulties that kept me from posting (again). To solve the problem I figured rather than wait an extra day or so I could just post on Monday, I also feel as though can construct the entire episode in advance and release it on the day of. These are logistical problems that you guys probably don't care about. But I figured I could still say sorry and let you know what I can do to fix it. A couple of months ago, I posted an episode about being a shopaholic and why it might be detrimental to my future (and not much has changed). During that episode I explained that I wanted to record an episode detailing what happens when we normalize capitalism. I am by no means anti-capitalist. I love to shop, I love to spend my money, I love nice things. I do believe that we need to be cognizant of our spending and what might induce spending at such high volumes.

Hey my little care bears. I would like to first apologize for getting this episode out so late, I had a few technical difficulties that kept me from posting. I figured rather than wait the extra day I could just post on Saturday. Lately (and by lately I mean over the last couple of months) I have seen a lot of rhetoric surrounding black female rappers and the glorification of the stripper aesthetic. While I think there is some valid criticism about what is happening to the body positivity movement, I often see that these criticism are lodged on Black women. Black female rappers are often perceived as too sexy and too vulgar for average consumption. I decided we could take a moment to look at why this might be, and why their fairer counterparts don't receive the same criticism, as well as take a moment to discuss how their lyrics is viewed as empowering. In this conversation I took a quick diversion to talk about the infamous Lana Del Rey post from two months ago because I think it reinforces some of the critiques that I levied in the first part of this episode.

This one is another episode that's off the cuff, and while usually I would include all references to the materials used to help formulate some of my ideas, which would be linked under the References for TOEBW tab on my website, I decided to forego the extra work it would take because Lana Del Rey's statement is still accessible via her Instagram and the songs that are referenced can be found via google (I don't want to be copyrighted).

I have finally set up the sponsorship link set up. While my podcast and my website are still relatively small, there have been costs associated with maintenance. I don't want anyone to feel like I don't love filming this. It's a way for me to clear my head and speak my truth in a safe space. You guys are really great. I thank you for your support in this, and if you do find that you love this podcast please donate. Donations range as little as a dollar a month (which would help me more than you can imagine), or you could donate more.

Hello my little care bears, thank you for coming back. Look, I'm trying to be productive and consistent. That means there's actually a Wednesday episode this week. Y'all did you know Quavo and Bryson Tiller are members of the 2020 class? I am so proud of these black men for going back to school to better themselves. The shaderoom posted Byrson Tiller's gradaution post and I couldn't help but notice the comments from stating that school wasn't for everyone and that everyone doesn't need to be educated to be successful. Ummmm can we take a moment to evaluate that? Where did this myth come from? What are the implications of these thoughts? How might they be harmful to our communities? I figured we could spend a moment discussing this today. This one is another episode that's off the cuff, but I'll include whatever links I might have referenced. It will be linked under the References for TOEBW tab on my website.

Hey my little Carebears. I would first like to apologize for taking a long hiatus. I wasn't joking when I said I wasn't mentally okay, and I needed the time to get there. Now that I am refreshed (at least I got some rest), I thought we could kick start this return here. I know we all mean well, but I wanted to have a conversation with y'all. Can we please stop accepting apologies that aren't for us? Yes, I mean it that way too but y'all know what I am getting at here. In the last several weeks we have seen celebrities and brands coming forward to apologize for their implicit biases and racism, sometimes their colorism. The gesture is nice, but I think affected parties are cautious about accepting those apologies because they are still largely harmed by the stereotypes and bigotry that these people engage in. And that's okay, it's okay to feel it in the moment, and okay to discuss the repercussions of these things. We don't want to move back to pre corona America. That America did not work for everyone. The goal is to move towards a more inclusive America, and in order to do that we need to be able to hold people accountable. Accountability is difficult when people dismiss the actions and accept apologies that aren't for them (see what I did there). Anyways, I figured we could have an honest conversation about this behavior and why it's harmful to the people some of y'all purport to support. In this time it's okay to let people sit in their discomfort. We can't keep avoiding conversations because people don't like them. So, this is what I have for y'all. It's off the cuff but I genuinely felt what I said. Hey my little care bears, it's been a long couple of weeks for me and I wanted to check in about how everything is going. Yesterday was the last day of mental health awareness month, it was also the 99th anniversary of the Tulsa Oklahoma Massacre. With everything going on, I thought I could maybe use my platform to help some of you see the pain that your minority friends feel. I'm sorry this isn't a clean, concise, or proper message. I didn't have it in me to do any of those things. So, here's my contribution to the conversation surrounding racial injustice. As always, you can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter @Tregeekchic. You can also email me any questions that you might have at tregeekchic@gmail.com. Lastly, check out the website Tregeekchic.com for information on my posting schedule and for additional treats.

Hey my little care bears. I was supposed to post this yesterday but due to a series of unfortunate events, I ended up at an orthopedic doctor's office yesterday. I am feeling significantly better so let's get this conversation started.

Today's podcast is about maintaining your peace. Girl, on this journey of life I am trying to remove as much negativity as I can. You can't remove all negativity in your life but you can remove a lot of it. 2016 was the year that I decided that I needed change, that the phrase "this is just the way it is" didn't apply to me. I think you can accomplish whatever you want in life, other people don't get to decide that for you. And yes it'll be hard (anyone who tells you otherwise is setting you up), but if you change your surroundings and change what you consume, you'll start to change your lens of life. Change can only happen when you allow for it, and we've come full circle. Step one of this process is being committed to loving yourself and protecting your peace. I've already posted a podcast about the importance of loving yourself on this journey, so let's talk about maintain your peace.

As always for additional content please check me out at Tregeekchic.com and if you have any questions please feel free to email me at Tregeekchic@gmail.com. I should start saying this, but if you like what I'm doing here please feel free to favorite/subscribe to join my carebear clan.

Hello my little care bears. I am sorry, I missed Friday's episode because I'm studying. I figured this week we could start off with something light. I don't know if I've told any of you, but I'm a nerd. Like not a casual nerd, but a full on weiaboo at times (only at times though). I grew up with a crush on Sesshomaru from Inuyasha. That's why I was so excited to hear that there was going to be a sequel but I have a couple of question. Also, I favorite story about a sparkly vampire and a stoic teen is back. I was such a twihard growing up but now as an adult, I don't know. Anyways, process this information with me. I know you want to. If you like what you hear please favorite my podcast or come join me at tregeekchic.com. You know you want to.

Good afternoon Care Bears. I would like to first apologize, this was supposed to be Sunday's episode. In my infinite wisdom, I thought I deleted it. Turns out, I didn't. Can we please to a moment to thank the universe. Full disclosure: this was a low moment y'all, but it's here because I love it. I think sometimes we forget that life isn't always rainbows and sunshine. It's full of hard moments, and moments that just exists. And it's entirely okay if your life isn't always Instagram worthy, it's not supposed to be. So I decided to post this so that y'all can see the real me. The me that isn't always the most productive, the most happy, or the most sure of herself. And that's okay, because it's simply just part of my process.

Anyways, today's episode it about learning to love yourself through your process. I think it's great to have goals, and it's great to want in life. That's just the nature of progressing through life. I also think that we need to learn to love the here and now. We set these goals, and envision our happiness and success at moments in the near or far future, without being grateful for who and what we are today. And, because of that, it's easy to get caught in the cycle. It's easy to believe we're not enough in the moment. It's easy to feel as though we're never going to make it to our goals.

I always strive to be better, but I think as I get older, I'm learning to love myself as is. I want to be healthy and work out, but there's also nothing wrong with loving my plus size body now. I want to be an attorney, but there is nothing wrong with having love and admiration for my less than stellar upbringing. We can do both. I think if you can acknowledge the beauty of the moment, and learn to love the self that currently exists, you'd accomplish so much more in life. Anyways, I'm rambling so I'll leave you with this Dr. Seuss quote "Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you! Shout loud, ‘I am lucky to be what I am!...’”.

Good evening my little care bears. I want to first start this episode with an apology, I usually get a moment to review my content but because I am currently studying for finals my episodes are going to be a little rough around the edges. I could always not post, but I wanted to continue to engage with those of you who come regularly to listen to my podcast. That being said, this is a particularly hard topic for me to deal with. Another one, another black man killed for no reason. As a person of color in the United States I cannot even begin to explain the heartache and the anger I feel surrounding Ahmaud's death. So, I figured we could discuss it together and process through our feelings here. Cooler heads need to prevail at this moment, but on the same token I don't want to tell anyone how to grieve.

Anyways, if you have a moment, please check out my super dope and super new website. I'm still working on the kinks and the layout, but all of my research, and all of my activity on other social platforms will be posted there. Website Pending: http://tregeekchic.com/

Good evening my little Care Bears. I figured that in light of how heavy the last two episodes have been I could make today's episode a little lighter ahem a LITTLE ahem. Also, there's controversy surrounding Robert Downy Jr.'s role in Tropic Thunder. Now I will not tell any person who was uncomfortable to not feel uncomfortable; however, I will tell some people to leave me alone and not tell me what to feel about it. I vote you listen to my take and hear why i'm not offended, and maybe we can have a conversation moving forward. If you have not even watched the movie, maybe sit this one out (because so much is being taken out of context here). Overall, check out today's episode and let me know what you think.

Hey my little care bears. I don't even know anymore because it's stupid that I have to even really address it. But here, after three tries I finally was able to record this episode with some level of intelligence. Please feel free to use this as a start to a very necessary conversation.

Hey my little care bears. It happened again, and at this point I have no fancy words to describe the situation. If you don't know a battle rapper named George Castro is trending on social media for his anti-black woman rhetoric. I'm tired but we can address it again if you'd like.

Hey my little care bears. I figured I'd spend my time rambling about my path in law school, how I got here, and where I'm currently at. It's definitely not the best quality, but it does provide some insight into my life and my thought patterns.

Hey all of my Care Bears. Can you take a moment and just STOP!!!! Before you exit this podcast because of the title, I want you to know that this isn't supposed to come off as accusatory (even if it marginally does for a minute or two), its actually supposed to be a conversation on some of the pressures that we might feel to engage in our capitalistic structure. As of recently, because of corona and the fact that I've run out of useful things to do, I decided I wanted to take an in depth look at some of my spending habits. I wanted to use this podcast as a way to start the conversation on consumerism in the black community, and thought it might be best to just jump in some where. You might feel the compulsion to shop, even when you are doing so outside of your means. This podcast seeks to understand it, or rather it is just a free flowing ramble about why I engage in consumerism and what I'm going to do to less its impact in my life. All garbage, but I think maybe if you took a listen you'd understand where I was coming from.

Hey my care bears: On this Journey of my life, I have had quite the struggle trying to figure out who I am and what I wanted to be. I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer very young, but as I got older I also decided that I wanted to be happy. In the early days I didn't realize what might have barred me from being happy, but now I realize that happiness is a choice. I can control what I feel and when I feel it. Long ago I learned how to manifest the things that I wanted (my career, my happiness, and my stability). This podcast is just a window into how I do it. Please do note, I am not an expert. You should probably still read up on the concept of the Art of Attraction, maybe read "The growth mindset", and maybe talk to others about how they started manifesting. This should only serve as an example as to how one can do it, and what manifestation can be used to do.

I don't even know how to describe the buffonary of what is going on right now, but in case you wanted to know Bhad Bhabie got called out for being black and then asked who wants to be black. Me, I do! Outside of the ignorant outburst I think we should take a deeper dive into the the appropriation and erasure of black culture, and why we might rightfully be mad about it.
