Namiko Mori: Recent Episodes

Composer, Arranger, Orchestrator for Film, Documentary and Animation Multi-instrumentarist Namiko Mori broadly explores her music by using many different kinds of acoustic instruments in wide range of music genre, preferring to play piano improvisation. Some her experimental music has been created by electronic tools. She had played classical piano in her childhood. She got into Punk/Rock, exposed to many different musical instruments and started to write songs and arrange band music during her teens. After she learned sound techniques, she has created much more experimental songs to mix Acoustic instruments, organic noises and MIDI sequences. She had experience in writing classical music at Dartington music school in the U.K in 2010. And she studied Film scoring at UCLA and awarded by BMI/Jerry Goldsmith Scholarship in 2014. Also she is elected as one of mentees for SCL mentor program 2015.

神奈川県出身。幼少期からクラシックピアノを習い、10代より独学でピアノやアコースティックギターで作詞、作曲、バンドアレンジなどを始める。楽器好き、エスニック楽器コレクターから、マルチインストルメンタリストとなり、数々のバンドへ多様な楽器担当で参加。パフォーマンスよりも楽曲制作へ力を入れる様になり、本格的に作曲を学ぶようになる。2010年イギリスのDartington International Music School にて作曲科への参加、2014年ロサンゼルスのUCLA extension Film Scoringコースにて、映画音楽を学ぶ。同コース、年に１度のBMI/Jerry Goldsmith奨学生に選抜される。2014年にはCertificateを習得。米国Society of Composers and Lyrisitsが主催する2015年の指導者プログラムに選ばれ、さらなる映画音楽の追求のためハリウッドの最前作曲家へ師事する予定である。 現在はLAにてインデペンデント短編映画、長編映画、アニメーションなどのサウンドトラック楽曲制作に取り組んでおり、その傍ら、自身の音楽やアートへ取り組んでいる。
