THE LONELINESS EPIDEMIC
Studies show that chronic loneliness is as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. In the 1920s, about 5% of Americans lived alone. As of 2013, 27% of Americans now live alone. God made us to be social, and whether you are lonely or not, someone you know is. We address the loneliness epidemic head on, giving practical advice, and challenging Christians to help bring community to our increasingly lonely culture. PORN-PROOFING YOUR KIDS - PART TWO We live in a 'pornified' world. Continuing on the subject we began in episode one, in this episode we address the guidelines, strategies and resources for porn proofing your kids. We are focused on the “how” question in this episode, giving specific guidelines and strategies for parents. Meet Josh and Betsy Desch. Josh is the Pastor of Community and Discipleship at Northeast Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Betsy is a Les Mills instructor, mother of four, and in her free time, a ‘cultural anthropologist.’ In this inaugural episode, Josh and Betsy introduce the podcast, define culture, talk about future episodes, and even discuss why fake weddings have become a popular attraction in Buenos Aires.
