Elly Gotz, graduate electronics engineer, pilot, businessman and author of “Flights of Spirit” tells his moving story of surviving the Holocaust, choosing love over hate and living life to the fullest - including skydiving at age 82!
Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, Elly spent his teenage years in a Nazi Ghetto in Kaunas and later in concentration camp Dachau, Germany, where he was liberated in 1945 by the American army.
After the war he lived in Germany, Norway, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. Elly came with his family to Canada in 1964 and now lives in Toronto.
In December 2025 Elly was honoured with the Order of Canada.

In this heart-warming episode, Jeff talks to Fadi Dekaidek, an Arab Muslim from Beit Hanina in East Jerusalem and learns his incredible story about becoming part of Israel's emergency medical system, Magen David Adom (MDA). When Jewish medics from MDA were saving the life of Fadi's father, Sameer, Sameer's words to his son changed the trajectory of his life: ‘I want from you one thing: to be like these people, to learn to save lives, to live like the Israeli community. You know the Jewish people; they are good people. If I’m still alive, I want to see you like them: a good man.” Fadi went on to become the first Arab from East Jerusalem to join MDA and has saved countless lives ever since. The light he has brought back into his community in East Jerusalem is inspiring. And the incredible community of Jews, Muslims and Christians that work on his team tells a different and hopeful narrative that contradicts what mainstream Media conveys.

He is also Founder and Executive Board Chairman of the Joseph Project International (josephproject.org), the humanitarian arm of the MJAA responsible for providing more than $170 million worth of humanitarian aid to Israel. The Joseph Project International is the largest importer of humanitarian aid in the state of Israel.
Chernoff is also Board Chairman of MJAA Ethiopian Relief (www.mjaaer.org), caring for and advocating for the final exodus of the Ethiopian Jews to Israel. In 2024, the Ethiopian government recognized it as one of top three non-government organizations (NGOs) in the country.
Founder and Board Chairman of Alliance for Israel Advocacy (www.israeladvocates.org); and Executive Secretary of International Messianic Jewish Alliance (www.theimja.org), encompassing national Alliances in 18 countries.

Since October 7, 2023, Canada has experienced a significant surge in antisemitism, marked by a 670 percent increase in incidents compared to the previous year. This rise has included violent attacks, such as shootings targeting Jewish institutions and arson attacks targeting schools, Synagogues, and other community institutions. Despite Jewish people comprising only 1.4 percent of Canada's population, they account for 70 percent of religious hate crimes.
In this interview, Jeff talks to Pastor David Larmour about his outstanding solidarity with the Jewish community in Canada, his recent trip to Israel and his thoughts on how Christians should and can support Israel and the Jewish people in this desperate hour.
David is an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) and serves as Lead Pastor of King Street Community Church (Oshawa), where he has served this local church for almost 20 years.
In addition to his pastoral work, David is a Registered Psychotherapist, providing care and support to his clients at Voice of Hope Counselling and Wellness Centre in Whitby. His academic achievements include an undergraduate degree in Theology, a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, equipping him with a strong foundation for both Christian service and mental health care.
David is also a committed Zionist and a passionate and positive voice for the Jewish community, advocating for their well-being both locally and globally. He is committed to interfaith dialogue and standing in solidarity with the Jewish community.

David Blease is an American pastor, Christian influencer, and podcast host. He is the Teaching Pastor at “Gateway Center for Israel” and a host for the “Covenant & Conflict” podcast series. David graduated from The King’s University in 2016 with a degree in Christian Studies.
In 2012, David attended the Gateway Conference, where he learned the Jewish context of scripture which significantly reshaped his understanding of the Bible. This newfound understanding helped deepen David’s relationship with God, his passion for Israel, and his love for the Jewish people. He now dedicates much of his time to teaching the Church how to develop and foster a sincere love for Israel and the Jewish people. David Blease and his wife (Mikayla Blease) have three children and live in Dallas/Fort Worth.

He is the author of Grafted In: Understanding God’s Role for You and Your Jewish Neighbors and has a deep passion for leading Christians to Israel—a land he has visited thirty times—to cultivate a heart for both the people and the Land. In his spare time, he loves to surf.
Justin Kron lives in Chicago and is the Founding Director of the Kesher Project—an organization that helps connect Christians to the Jewish foundations of the Christian faith and to their Jewish friends and neighbors. Justin is a graduate of the Moody Theological Seminary and now serves as an adjunct professor in the Jewish Studies program of the Moody Bible Institute.
In 2021, Todd and Justin produced and released an award-winning documentary film called HOPE IN THE HOLY LAND: Delving Beneath the Surface of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. They are now preparing to release a new feature documentary called OCTOBER 7: Bearing Witness to the Massacre.

In this episode of our FAQ Series, Jeff talks to Ze'ev Orenstein about the discovery of an ancient coin found just south of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, just before Tisha B'Av (the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av) 2025. The coin reads, "For the Redemption of Zion" and is evidence of a very ancient longing for Jews to be sovereign over Jerusalem as God promised. Little did those ancient Jews know that their longings would be fulfilled roughly 2000 years later. The concept of Zionism is an ancient and biblical concept, and idea that Jesus supported as a Jew who obeyed and followed the Hebrew Bible.
Ze’ev Orenstein is the Director of International Affairs for the City of David Foundation. To that end, he is responsible for strengthening awareness of and support for the archeological site among those shaping public policy and opinion. As such, he has delivered briefings in the White House, the State Department and on Capitol Hill, as well as led in-person tours of the City of David for countless diplomats, dignitaries, faith leaders, journalists, and members of Congress.

In this exciting conversation, Jeff talks to Omri Toppol of Temple Mount Soil (https://www.templemountsoil.com) a business developed to raise funds for the Temple Mount Sifting Project in Jerusalem and to get the precious soil that was carelessly removed from the Temple Mount into the hands of those who really care about it.
When Muslim authorities of the Temple Mount permitted 250 Truck loads - over 5000 tons - of soil to be removed from the Temple Mount and dumped in the Kidron Valley without any proper archaeological excavation, the Temple Mount Sifting Project began. Since then, Archaeologists and volunteers have been carefully sifting through the discarded soil and have discovered 600,000 precious artifacts, many of which are directly linked to biblical and Jewish history on the Temple Mount.
Although the soil from the Temple Mount is considered "garbage" to Muslim authorities on the Temple Mount, it is precious to those who revere and respect Jewish and biblical history on that sacred Mount - the holiest place in Judaism and a site that has special value to Jesus and to Christians everywhere. In order to raise funds to continue the excavation process, Omri has founded TMS which collects certified soil from the Temple Mount that was discarded, and markets it to those who treasure biblical history.

In this interview, Jeff talks to Pastor Ryan Warren of Gateway Church in Dallas Texas. Ryan's journey into ministry took an unconventional path. He began as a professional hip-hop dancer alongside artists like Destiny’s Child, Carrie Underwood, and Kari Jobe. Before long, he traveled the country, bringing the art of dance back to a heart of worship.
In 2015, Ryan joined the Gateway Church staff as a Creative Director and a Pastor to creative artists. Currently, he serves as the Discipleship Pastor at the Dallas Campus, where he is passionate about serving the congregants and the surrounding Jewish community. He is deeply involved in Jewish advocacy, being a part of Patricia Heaton’s O7C, as well as Holocaust and Historical Antisemitism from the Christian Church education. Ryan received his Bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in biblical studies at Dallas Baptist University and is currently pursuing his Master’s of Divinity in Messianic Jewish Studies at The King’s University.

Rabbi Michael Freund graduated from Princeton University and got his MBA from Columbia. He lived in Israel for 25 years, where he served as Deputy Communications Director under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and went on to found Shavei Israel, a nonprofit that has brought more than 10,000 Jews from far-flung places on Aliya to Israel, including descendants of the Lost Tribes. He has been a syndicated columnist for the Jerusalem Post for two decades and authored two books. Freund has five grown sons, 4 of whom are reservists in elite IDF combat units and fought in Gaza and Lebanon over the past year. He is a loyal New York Mets fan.

In this podcast, Jeff talks to Dr. Charles Jacobs, President of the African - Jewish Alliance about the similarities between the massacre that occurred in Israel October 7th and what has been going on in modern-day Africa. Jeff shares his experience watching over 40 minutes of October 7th footage from Hamas cameras while Dr. Jacobs compares it to what he has witnessed happening today in Africa.
Dr. Charles Jacobs is an author, journalist and activist who over two decades has founded human rights and pro-Israel organizations, some of which have become nationally known.
In 1993 Charles joined with African Christians and Muslims to found the American Anti-Slavery Group. He flew several times ILLEGALLY into Sudan on rescue missions that freed thousands of slaves. Coretta Scott King presented Charles with the Boston Freedom Award for his abolitionist work. In 2008, in response to the threat of Islamic radicalism’s rapid penetration of American society, Charles, along with Professor Dennis Hale and Sheikh Ahmed Mansour, founded Americans for Peace and Tolerance.
Charles has recently formed The African-Jewish Alliance to educate the public about the Islamist onslaught against Africans today. The AJA consists of American Jews and Africans living in America whose people are under assault.
Charles was once named by The Forward as one of America’s top 50 Jewish leaders. He has been widely published, including in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Jerusalem Post, and the Encyclopedia Britannica. He has appeared on local and national television and radio, including CNN, CBS, Fox News, NPR, and PBS.

In this interview, Jeff talks to Robert J. Wolf MD, author of "Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man's Fight for Freedom." Published by Amsterdam Publishers, this 4-time award winning book is based on Robert’s family’s history, first living under the Nazis, and then under the communist regime in Hungary. In 1944, almost half a million Jewish Hungarians were deported to Auschwitz. Among the few surviving Hungarian Jews of this era was Robert’s father, Ervin Wolf, who was conscripted into the brutal Forced Labor Service, cut off from the outside world, and ordered to endure inhumane brutalities and servitude. Once freed, a new oppression took hold as communist rule under Stalin turned friends to foes, enveloping Hungary with fear and suspicion, testing everyone’s character and strength. In this interview, Jeff talks to Sondra Baras about the legitimacy of the Jewish claim to the Land of Israel, and in particular, the area referred to as "The West Bank". Sondra explains why the "West Bank" should only be called "Judea and Samaria" and she unpacks why it is inappropriate to refer to her - or anyone else in her community - as a "Settler" because of the legal and biblical right all Jews have - and have always had - to the heartland of Israel.
Sondra Oster Baras is an Orthodox Jew, born and raised in the US. She and her husband moved to Israel in 1984, and shortly thereafter, she became an active spokes-person for the communities of Judea and Samaria.
In 1998, Sondra Baras founded CFOIC Heartland, a Christian organization which focuses exclusively on the communities in the heartland of Biblical Israel. CFOIC Heartland raises funds for these communities,and they are the primary resource for connecting Christians from all over the world to the people of Biblical Israel. In September 2023, Sondra Oster Baras retired as Director of CFOIC-Israel and assumed the position of International President. She and her husband Edward raised five children in Karnei Shomron, where they still reside today. She recently joined the Jerusalem Institute of Justice, where she has joined her own people in an existential struggle for survival.
JIJ is an Israeli human rights organization based in Jerusalem. For 20 years, JIJ has fought for the rights and well-being of vulnerable people in Israel and the Middle East.
Within Israel, JIJ provides free legal aid to survivors of human trafficking, Israeli civilians who have been internally displaced since October 7th, and new immigrants arriving from around the globe.

In this episode of "Keeping it Israel" Jeff talks to Prof. Yosef Garfinkel, Head of the Institute of Archaeology at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem about what he's discovered in the 5 years he's been excavating at Khirbet al-Ra'i. According to Yossi, the site is ancient, Ziklag, found exactly as described in the Bible. The finds there are consistent with the Bible story about King David and his complicated interactions with the Philistines. From 2007-2013, Yossi excavated Khirbet Qeiyafa and discovered a fortress dating to the time of King David (1000 BCE), overlooking the valley where the bible says David slew the Giant Philistine, Goliath. There, among other incredible finds, he unearthed an inscription that is possibly the earliest Hebrew inscription known. According to Yossi, the Bible story about King David and the Philistine giant Goliath is not as far-fetched as some might think.

Until the Pandemic put the brakes on, Canadian Filmmaker, Chris Atkins had been going to Israel multiple times a year since 2005. “I know Jerusalem better than Toronto,” Chris tells Jeff. In this episode of “Keeping it Israel” we learn about Israel from the unique lens of the filmmaker who has experienced and observed it from the sky, up-close-and-personal, and literally (or archaeologically) inside-out. Having sampled food all over the country, multiple times, Chris insists that Israeli food is unbeatable in flavour and variety; he talks about how as a creator of media he is infuriated by how Israel is constantly misrepresented in mainstream media; but what has impacted Chris most about his constant contact with Israel are the ‘Indiana Jones’ style adventures he has experienced there – crawling through ancient tombs and tunnels, and exploring the Israel Antiques Authority Warehouse – experiences which have confirmed for him, that the Bible is not just a “book of fables.” In fact, from his perspective, “If you don’t appreciate Jewish culture, you don’t fully appreciate the Bible or Jesus himself.”

Isaac talks about the weekly, solitary tours he takes around his ancestral homeland; he is shocked by the closed and empty holy places in Israel – sites that are normally flooded with tourists. But there is hope: Israel is slowly opening up its borders to travellers and there is no doubt that we will all soon be able to visit the Land of the Bible once again!

To honour International Holocaust Remembrance Day this week, Jeff interviews author and researcher Kelvin Crombie from Perth, Australia. Kelvin and Jeff were together on a tour of Poland's concentration camps to study the Jewish life then and now as well as learn about the Holocaust. Kelvin has also been involved in a research project documenting the Jewish Christian Victims of the Holocaust. Jeff teaches about the significance of the Magdala stone found at the archaeological site of the home of Mary Magdalene and what is now the Magdala Tourist Center on the shores of Sea of Galilee near Migdal, Israel. Learn how the markings on the stone give us insight into one of the purposes of the first century synagogue as a place for worship and how they point to the temple in Jerusalem.
