Everett, WA | 7/22/21 - The 2021 Clay Cup at Deming Speedway had great weather, racing, and awesome to see all the fans come out in full force to support such a great event. Before the races Friday Shaun talked to the Thursday night restricted winner Axel Oudman, Colin Mackey, Thursday night 1200 winner Chance Crum, Dominic Gordon, and Thursday night 600 open winner Mitchel Moles. Then with Shaun being asked to do victory lane interviews for the track he figured out how to hold 2 mics and so you hear from the 600 open winner Dominic Gordon, Jr Sprints hard charger and 3rd place Braeden Wager, jr sprints winner Brooklyn Constance, 600 restricted winner Jaydon Huppert (sorry I forgot to hit record at beginning), and 1200 winner Brock Lemley. Then Saturday Shaun talked to the lone Canadian entry Brody Ferguson about how they got down here. Then on Saturday night the Clay Cup tradition is Paul brings out the podium so first we have the victory lane podium for Jr Sprints 3rd place Brooklyn Constance, 2nd place Avery Askvig, and winner Braeden Wager, then 600 Restricted podium of 3rd place Mallory Fisher, 2nd place Austin Wood, and winner Jett Barnes. Alex Peck held off the hottest driver of the Northwest Focus Midget series Nick Evans and won the Chuck Evans memorial at Skagit Speedway. This is Pyles Motorsports first win and Alex's first dirt win and sets them up great for a really busy 5 nights of racing in the next 2 weeks.
Cam Smith keeps up on his strong season picking up his 3rd win at Skagit Speedway this year setting himself up really well for the next two weeks when the ASCS National tour comes to town for the Brownfield and Dirt Cup.

On Friday night Shaun talked to first time 600 winner Parker Hadlock, 1200 winner Chance Crum, Focus Midgets winner Nick Evans, 600 restricted winner Corbin Ramsey, and first time Jr Sprint winner Clayton Jalakas. Then on Saturday night before the races I talked to the newest driver in the Northwest Focus Midget Series Tyler West, and Sprint Car driver Bailey Jean. After the races I talked to first time Tuner winner Mike MacPherson (note that I pulled a rookie move and forget to start the recorder and had to do the interview a second time and really missed out on some true emotions so sorry Mike and thank you for being patient with me), Northwest Focus Midget Winner Nick Evans, Modified winner, Adam Holtorp, 2nd place Sprint Car Jason Solwold, and Sprint Car Winner Cam Smith. In this long form one on one interview with Fred Rannard Jr in part 1 we talk about how he got into racing, and the Skagit and Northern Sprint Tour years among other things. Fred has seen a lot of great things and has great stories so it was great to be able to sit down for an in depth interview with him.
Shaun In The Dirt Podcast Deming Speedway 2020 Championship Day/Night
Everett, WA | 8/29/20 - The final race of a very strange 2020 season at Deming Speedway raced on Sunday afternoon due to weather. Shaun was down in the wet sloppy infield and talked to a lot of the podium drivers on the final day. In the 600 open hear from the winner and 2020 track champion Evan Margeson, runner up Blaine Granberg and 3rd place Parker Hadlock. In the funnest and never know how the interviews will go part of the podcast Shaun went to the Jr Sprints winners and talked to the winner and track champion Kane Van Sickle, 2nd place Dustin Ramsey and third place Jayce Medcalf. In the 1200 I talked to winner Alex Lewis, 2nd place Dakota Drake, and 3rd place and track champion Chance Crum. In the 600 restricted i talked to winner and track champion Levi Hilier, and 2nd place Peyton Drake. Another fun and exciting season at Deming Speedway and the support from all of the teams and drivers was amazing.

Everson, WA | 7/19/20 - Up at Deming Speedway for the 3rd night of Clay Cup at Deming Speedway before the races Shaun talked to Derek Holmwood, Jayden Whitney, Baker Fagerlie, Ryan Rocha, Ryan Holz, Isabel Barnes, Brad Hannum, Dominic Carter, and Jake Andreotti. After the races we talked to Jr sprint winner Kane Van Sickle and for the third straight night on the podcast (runner up) Drake Hadlock. In the 600 restricted division Shaun talked to winner Dominic Carter, runner up Jayden Whitney, and third place Levi Hilier. In 1200 division Shaun talked to winner Chance Crum, and the hard charger Devon Borden. In the 600 open division Shaun talked to winner Chance Crum, runner up Jake Andreotti, and third place Mitchell Moles. Under the circumstances of a pandemic with social distancing and no spectators it was great all the support Paul and the family at Deming Speedway got to run the 2020 Clay Cup Nationals with full advertised payout and it was a huge night for Change Crum.

Everson, WA | 7/17/20 - The first night of Clay Cup was a fun hard night of racing. Teams were busy getting ready and drawing in and getting track packed in so I just did victory lane interviews. Hear from 600 winner Chance Crum, 600 restricted winner Tyler Conley, and the podium in the Jr sprints Drake Hadlock, Ryan Bright, and Cooper Anderson. It’s always so fun to talk to the little guys and hear them answer your questions cause you never know if your going to get a one word answer or a long answer or an unexpected answer and with 2 new drivers up there it was fun. I owe Clennon Holloway an interview as somehow I missed him out front but there is always tonight as by far that was the race of the night on Night 1. Before the races at Agassiz Speedway I had the honor of interviewing Robert Hunter. Robert has so much knowledge and has seen so much through his lens over the years and I hope this is just the first in many interviews I can do with him. I have a special treat for you. I saw Steve Dyer riding in after getting his pit pass so i pulled him to the side and did an interview with him. I know he is not doing well medically, but that didn't matter when you start talking racing with him.
