The apostle Paul was known for sending letters to churches and people. His letters called them out, encouraged them, and spoke on cultural issues. Some have said that America could use a letter from Paul reminding us of a few things. What do you think Paul would say to the churches in America and to people who claim to be Christians? This episode takes a guess at what Paul may have said to America based off what he wrote to other churches and people.

The media would rather publicize something other than Jesus. As Christians, should we follow this trend? If we want to get rid of our blindness and see the truth, we will need to take lessons from a beggar who knew keeping it low key was not the answer to his problems. Striving for spiritual growth along with finding confidence in the message proclaimed in the Bible gives us the confidence to move away from low key.

Being fueled by our feelings can lead us astray. Feelings are a part of life, and it's beneficial to be in tune with them properly. But for Christians, there is something we can be inspired by that is more trustworthy than our feelings. The world has changed the name of certain sins to try and make them seem like they are not sins. Switching names is a tactic used to confuse and manipulate people to act a certain way. Watch what others try to call those who want to represent Christian living. Even Jesus had to deal with people trying to call him something he was not.

The most important book a person can read is the Bible. There are some major reasons why people should read scripture and not just be content with letting someone else tell them what the Bible actually says. There are some places anyone can start when it comes to reading the Bible. And even if you feel like you know the Bible pretty well, there are still reasons you'd want to read God's Word.

"Build it how you want" is something we strive to do in our culture. We even use this philosophy with whom we worship and trust. But building a god doesn't make our lives better; it only rejects the God who cares and has sacrificed for us like no other.

The worst kind of friend is one who is really an undercover enemy. A person may be a friend in one aspect and an enemy in another, but how do you distinguish the difference? We have to beware of our greatest frenemy. Likewise, we have to be thankful for our greatest Friend, who has undoubtedly proven his dedication to us.

Is it OK to build a relationship on lies? Well, I guess it depends, because people are now being pressured to call a man a woman and vice versa if that's what a person wants. Culture wants to dictate our feelings and attitudes and will go to great lengths to do this. There are some movements that are geared toward making us allies with the wrong groups and distancing us from our most valuable and important relationship. God wants to dictate our feelings and attitudes as well, and this episode reminds us of the great lengths that he went through for us all.

Another passage from Galatians 6 that C.L. has a tattoo of is a reminder to stop planting garbage. Destruction comes when we plant the wrongs things and our focus is in the wrong place. How much do you love things of this world? What do you love about this world? Our culture promotes and encourags us to become "wordly." Not falling prey to that concept is so important to C.L. that he has a Bible verse tattooed on him that focuses on not showing love to the wrong things. Listen to why he is leery about falling in love with something most are not even concerned about. This is the first of a three-part series dissecting the Bible verses C.L. has tattooed on his arm.

There are many reasons why people don't give the Bible a chance. One reason is that their first encounter with the Word of God is not with actual Scripture but with those who claim to follow Jesus and his teachings in the Bible. If someone interacted or looked at you, would they see the Bible in you? This episode explores why some may or may not view you as a Christian.

What's the price you're willing to pay in order to hear a sermon that relates to you and keeps your attention the entire time? C.L. gathers information from spiritual leaders of different backgrounds and denominations to see how they would respond to a person who thinks the sermons are boring and unrelatable. C.L. has noticed that pastors rarely recommend other spiritual leaders for their members to listen to. Why is that? This episode looks at the reason why.

Our culture consistently tells us to pursue happiness. There is a godly happiness, and then there is a worldly happiness. We often get the pursuit of pleasure mixed up with the pursuit of happiness. There's a noticeable difference in earthly happiness and godly happiness; godly happiness is a fruit of the Spirit that is noticeable especially in difficult situations.

The American Dream is all about going from rags to riches. The story of Joseph in the Bible is one of those feel-good narratives we love becaue he ends up being wealthy and prosperous despite some major hardships. Moses, on the other hand, lost his royalty and ended up being blessed in other ways—he went from riches to rags. Which life would you rather have when comparing these two men?

Too many people answer based off their past, when in reality God has shown he can take any type of past or background and use it for his glory. This episode dives into the fact that although we are all broken, that is not our final fate or form.

This is the final episode in our three-part series on the Parable of the Lost Son, which is found in the book of Luke. The father's love is unique and pretty countercultural based off how the sons treated him and wanted from him. We at times are like one or both of the sons. However, the love of the father can change lives and bless us in a way that the world wants us to overlook.

This era is about self-discovery, freedom, and living it up; but maybe that's nothing new. In the parable of the lost son, there is a younger, wild brother who any of us can relate to because who doesn't want to have fun and enjoy life? We all fall, but how to get up and what we turn to is everything. This is the second episode in our three-part series that looks at the distinct difference in "free spirit" life and Christianity. And once wild doesn't mean always wild.

Friends should be able to talk about the most important things in life; our Christian brothers and sisters should be in this category of friends. For whatever reason, we at times avoid discussing God's Word with our friends. Should talking about God be a point of emphasis with our friends even if we know we believe the same thing? Comfortability plays a factor, and there are ways we can all become more comfortable talking about God and his truths in "friendly settings."

In our culture we are very quick to give lables and titles to things and people to a fault. Information isn't about being accurate anymore, it's about being first and sharing whatever comes to your mind. It's safe to assume most bad things that happens to a minority, are because of poor choices and decisions—not necessarily. So does that mean that if something bad happens to a minority, it was racist—not necessarily.

This world is infected with sin, and we all make mistakes and sin. Every behavior is NOT a learned behavior. Some of the behaviors in us are just dormant. What promotes these negative behaviors, and what keeps these negative behaviors and attitudes asympotimatic will be broken down in this episode.

This is the second in C.L.'s month-long series looking at race.

Are you tired of hearing about race? Some are; some aren't. But the way Christ is portrayed in pictures in church shows how race may matter more than most realize. Jesus wasn't white or black, but in honor of Black History Month, let's take a look at some blacks mentioned in the Bible.

This is the first in C.L.'s month-long series looking at race.

About "The Nonmicrowaved Truth":
How fast do you have to have "IT"? Our culture tells us to find a microwave to speed up the process. C.L. Whiteside, a man who sees and hears multiple perspectives through his life of coaching sports, serving in education, and attempting to conform to Christ, searches for the nonmicrowaved truth. C.L. gets that what’s cool and acceptable now, may not be cool and acceptable tomorrow—and most importantly, may not be what’s best.
