In this first season, we launch on a quest to uncover how to activate our senses of purpose in our work, and redefine our visions of design. Triggered by real contemporary problematics and the big questions we try to wrap our heads around, we bring on friends, designers and professionals around the table to assess, dream and potentiate. Together, we discuss if design can really play a part in tackling the issues we face in our modern world - things like climate change, gender inequality, the migration crisis…. This is for all of us juggling with our chaotic reality and the thirst to discover how to contribute to the creation of an improved world. Join our collective journeys on the path to furthering our own agencies, as we discover, step by step, that everyone can become a designer.
“ We identify with each other and distinguish ourselves through stories. And those can be completely false narratives, too. So stories can be used for positive outcomes - but stories can also be used to marginalize and to oppress. And so there is so much power in storytelling - and so how we tell stories and who is telling them is incredibly important. ”In this episode, Alice, Valentina and Lou discuss the power of crafting stories, framing new narratives, and the guts it takes to assert ourselves as designers, in particular as women in male dominated industries.

Architecture, Policy Making and Collaborative Design to mitigate climate change.
‘‘Change is the only constant in the universe - I love that idea. So we know changes are coming. So the question is, as a designer: how do we create spaces that are resilient and adaptable to inevitable change? And although that work's tough and scary and it can feel overwhelming... that is exactly the right place to be. We have a better opportunity now, more than ever before, to shift the paradigm we're living in to one that is more in line with the sort of world that we think we should be living in.”In this episode, Lou and Finn discuss their journeys towards design, why it's essential to rebel against institutions, the dangers of hustle and performance culture, key steps to creating tangible change and how to cope with feelings of inadequacy and climate anxiety.
Activism and community creation as tools to create regenerative cultures.
‘‘Rebellion is an act of love. It is saying: I''m prepared to do this, because I have such love for humanity and I want to see humanity flourish. And that means everyone flourish - and I am prepared to cause this disruption to make this happen. So I do see rebellion is like a massive act of love. If I didn't love humanity, I would allow it to run burn, but there is so much hope and beauty and creativity in humanity and in the world and in nature. And if we're not going to protect this, what are we doing on this earth? ”In this episode, Daze, Valentina and Lou discuss the power of activism and community as tools to regenerative cultures - within ourselves, and our social networks. In this passionate episode, Daze walks us through regaining independence, fostering systems of care and alternative models for life rebellion.
In this episode, Rafa, Lou and Valentina discuss activism and community care as tools to create regenerative and resilient cultures. With a profound and spiritual outlook, Rafa shares her experience reconnecting with her indigenous roots, her repair work in Brazil, and the necessity to decolonise our minds, our communities and our planet.
