Love is hard, right? Love is often described as a feeling, which is true, love is something we feel. But love is also something we choose, an action that we decide to do for others. So how do we live lives where we are always looking for ways to love other people, including the people we don’t like? Jesus says that we should love our enemies, but how does that work? What is love, practically speaking? And how can we change our attitude and outlook to be more like Jesus?

In this episode, we hear from Bro. Terry Gladstone who talks to us about love practically speaking, including a look at the 5 love languages.

This talk was recorded live at CYC on the 03/10/2020.

We have the Bible. It feels like it has been around forever, and if we have grown up as a Christian, it has been a constant in our lives. But the Bible started somewhere, and it didn’t just magically appear. There are 66 books with 1189 chapters and a whole lot of words! But some Bibles have extra words or extended chapters than others. These were all written, collected, compiled and reviewed by men. Who were these people? How did they decide that some verses, chapters and books were inspired and others weren’t? How do we know we can trust these ‘inspired’ words in the Bible, and how should we consider the Bible in regards to inspiration and its context? In this episode, we hear from Bro. Dave Burke who talks to us about the origins of our modern bible.

This talk was recorded live at CYC on the 5/09/2020.

Turning the other cheek is a concept we are all familiar with, but what does it mean in practice? The concept is about more than just being patient and not seeking revenge. When Jesus asks us to turn the other cheek, he is essentially asking us to play by different rules than the rest of the world and this can be really hard to remember and to do.

In this episode, we hear from Bro. Andrew Boyd who talks to us about what it means to "turn the other cheek."

This talk was recorded live at CYC on the 15/08/2020.
