We were born like Jesus – the Holy Spirit, the seed of God, breathed life into us and recreated our spirit in the image of God! We have been given a gift – God committed to us His very Spirit on the inside of us! The mark of maturity and growing in the Lord, is your awareness of the Holy Spirit, being sensitive to His promptings and directives. God has a plan for each of us to be different and LIVE different– sensitive and tender to the Holy Spirit. You’re born of God to live like Jesus!! The thinking -- that’s Jesus and I’m not like Him – has kept the body of Christ living in the flesh. If you make that excuse, you are living in the flesh!! Oh people we need to repent and repent quickly – that means change our way of thinking! You have within you the Spirit of God – the ability to live above the old ways, to live not by the flesh because YOU ARE BORN OF GOD – but by His Spirit!!
We live in a world with other human beings and someone will say or do something that gives you the opportunity to be angry, disappointed, feel mistreated, or betrayed. Each of those thoughts and feelings are devices of the enemy – the devil has a plan to turn believers, followers of Jesus away from the spirit - keep us consumed with ourselves, self focused and fleshly soulish people or as Paul calls it - CARNAL CHRISTIANS – Romans 8:5-6 tells us what that is – those born of God who set their minds on things of the flesh and live according to the flesh and not the spirit...

Jesus went into the temple of God – the place where the people of God gathered to worship – He went to be with His Father and those gathered to worship and He began to drive out all the people that were there just to make a profit, buying and selling stuff for offerings or sacrifices—He turned over the tables of the money changers or the cashiers taking people’s money and selling the animals to sacrifice (basically taking advantage of them). And then He made this statement – It is written “My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves." A house is a dwelling place, a home, a habitation for a family or someone specific, it’s a household – a place of living and interacting. What Jesus was saying is the place God is welcome and feels at HOME is the place that will be marked by people ENGAGING with Him – relating to Him. When Jesus turned over the tables and brought in the presence of the Lord– HE set things right in God’s house -- and people were drawn to Him and were healed and restored!!
That is the very same today – I believe the Lord is doing a reset so He can draw people to Him – He’s turning over the tables in our churches and our hearts to set things right! So His presence is can move so strong among us that people are moved and drawn to Him!

Christmas - the celebration of Jesus birth is the most likely time where there is tension, heated arguments, anger and division between people. We want our dream of a happy, jolly, wonder-filled time with family and friends to be reality. Well, the truth is it can be – but it has to start with us BELIEVING RIGHT – not buying the lies. God gave all of us believers a great gift! If we open it and give away from what we have been given, we can have that peace, goodwill and joy with others. But there is something each one of us needs to GIVE away that we’ve been given. God has a plan for each of us to have that peaceful, joy-filled, wonderful time with each other – if we will just GIVE the right gift? And I’m not talking about getting people what they have on their list – buying what will please them – I’m talking about a gift we’ve been freely given that God is asking us to draw on, make use of, understand and share. Join Pastor Larry McGinnis as he talks about God’s pattern, model, and framework for THANKS GIVING. God's ways are higher than our ways and we need to develop a life of thanksgiving, not just on the 3rd Thursday in November and not just when we get something or are grateful for another person. Giving thanks to the Lord is an act of worship! You’re expressing gratitude not only for what the Lord has done for you but beyond that gratitude to the One who changed your life! Giving thanks puts you in a position to receive all God has for you! But here’s the kingdom pattern – sometimes we must offer thanksgiving while we’re still in the struggle, while we still don’t know how this is gonna turn out, that’s the place we give thanks IN ALL THINGS. The Word of God doesn’t say to be thankful for everything, but in everything. We give thanks for who God is and His goodness, mercy and truth.
Jesus came so we could SEE and HEAR what non-believers or those who are in darkness cannot. Believers were recreated to hear His voice. He wants to talk to us! John 10:27 says My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me. This is the framework of the kingdom -- those that follow Jesus HEAR God’s VOICE in a personal way! We live in a culture where there are many voices speaking to us or at us at all times – TV, radio, phones, emails, texts, social media – voices that pull for our attention and can drown out the Lord’s voice. Where we can be so busy – even busy doing God’s work that we don’t put ourselves in a position to hear Him. He wants to be the loudest VOICE, the loudest whisper in our lives. Jesus also came to CALL OUT to the nonbelievers and the sinners. That means He was speaking to EVERYONE!

That word GIVE means to freely transfer something of value to another without expecting or receiving anything in return. REAL GIVING – God’s way – is not about what you get. Matthew 6:21 says “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” TREASURE here is STUFF laid up, stored up, invested in - what you value and put your money into. But the root word for treasure is a horizontal posture, to bow down or kneel – to put something in a place you bow to – to worship, kneel before. The word heart means feelings, affections, thoughts, desires, thoughts, choices – it’s to tie our SOUL to something -- to literally give your time, attention, resources and your affections to that thing. That’s worship! To devote yourself – bow down to - to give your heart to what or whom you treasure or value. God's model of giving is to freely give our worship to Him, before anything else, and not to bow to money or whatever we are investing our lives into, but He wants us to invest in Him!

COMMUNITY/FELLOWSHIP/KOINONIA - It’s that connection where a group of people care deeply about each other and feel they belong together – linked by what they have in common, a shared unity in purpose and direction in Jesus! To find a bond deeper and stronger than blood, that’s by the Spirit of the Lord!! It’s the place where you fit and where you feel like you belong! It’s participating in each other’s lives – doing life together, being real, open, honest, even vulnerable with each other -- not holding back out of fear of being judged, but opening our hearts and sharing with an intimacy and depth – communicating beyond just surface stuff – This is how Jesus designed the church – His people – what we are to be to each other – to be a PEOPLE who live different -- outside the norm -- sharing of ourselves with others -- who lay their lives down for each other and show His love to the world by how we love each other!

In this message, we look at the first one - the Word of God REVEALED! We believe as a church that the Bible is the inspired Word God – that’s 2 Timothy 3:16 – All scripture is given by God – one translation says GOD BREATHED, inspired and spoken by Him – it’s more than just a book, it’s the will of God that men wrote down as God spoke through them. We believe that the Word is absolute, infallible TRUTH. In John 17:17, Jesus was praying and says Father sanctify – set them apart – through Your TRUTH. Your Word is TRUTH ! We believe that He speaks to us through His Word and by His Spirit – that it is a revelation of His love for us! His desire is to make His Word known to us!

This message is an introduction to a series about what makes us who we are and what God has called us to be and do - the vision and mission of Reveal Community Church. 1 John 4:9 In this the love of God was REVEALED toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. This is the verse from which our name was chosen.
Do you have spiritual dyslexia? Do you really know how to love God and how to let Him really love you? Most people need a revelation of His love from His Word to fully grasp it. God’s love is not contingent on your performance, on some virtue you possess! Listen, nothing you do or don’t do can change how God loves you. You’re not that powerful! God is love and that’s our foundation! What we build our entire life on as a follower of Jesus is ‘HOW GOD LOVES US.” Join us as Pastor Larry McGinnis shares this message on the love of God and how we must let God love us.
Most people do not want to go through storms, but when we do, we want to be prepared. People that live on the coast and have been through a hurricane (storm) are pretty calm and know how to prepare. Likewise, we need to know how to prepare to go through a storm.

ETERNAL JUDGEMENT is different for Believers and Unbelievers! Each and every one is going to be judged – we can’t avoid it – BUT there’s a difference how we will be judged based on one very important truth. There is a difference based on what you BELIEVE! Because there are two very distinct separate judgments – both part of this FUNDAMENTAL, Eternal Judgement. Both are in the Bible – the great white throne judgment and the judgment seat of Christ.

Have you learned to look at death through God’s eyes? Even though we have born again spirits, a part of us that is eternal, with the God kind of life inside of us, we haven’t renewed our minds to the truth about death! John 11:25 says “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
Death was not God's plan. Death only came in through sin of man. See Romans 5:12. Death is inevitable — it happens to each of us and we can’t avoid it. BUT JESUS!! In John 8:51, Jesus said that you, as a born again believer, are never going to see death. Because Jesus rose from the dead, the first born of many brethren risen from the dead to new life – we will live forever with Him because He lives! When a believer dies, death is not the end!

In the Word of God, we find that there are very specific purposes for laying on of hands -- To put a blessing on someone, to set a person apart for ministry, God’s calling, to impart a spiritual gift to, to pray with someone for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and TO HEAL, restore and deliver. Jesus had a ministry of LAYING ON OF HANDS! TOUCHING PEOPLE!! And many times He ministered healing by the laying on of hands – He showed us how!

FAITH TOWARDS GOD is a key to our walk with Jesus! The definition of FAITH is a “complete trust or confidence in someone or something” In Hebrews 6, the word translated FAITH, means assurance, belief, believe, strong unwavering conviction, a commitment, persuasion of the truthfulness of God, confidence, a reliance, a relating to God. Hebrews 11:1 in the amplified bible says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen (the conviction of their reality – faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses).
Romans 12:3 -- For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. THE MEASURE OF FAITH … what was apportioned to every one of us. He gave all of us the same amount! Faith is like a muscle … you don’t get more muscles when you exercise… you build up what you already have. Faith that isn’t actively working is dormant, like a seed in the ground waiting for spring … life is still there. Faith is on the inside of you ready to rise up. Every believer has faith inside! And the Word of God tells us how to build-up our faith, not how to get more!

This is a continuation on the FUNDAMENTAL OF THE DOCTRINE OF BAPTISMS. There are 3 BAPTISMS! BAPTISM means to be immersed, submerged, to go completely under – to be all in – to DIP fully. To be IMMERSED IN something like water – but it really means - ALL IN – a permanent change. 1 John 5:8 says there are three that bear witness or testify on the earth: The Spirit, the water and the blood and these three agree as one. THREE. The blood, the first baptism which is salvation- The water, the second baptism and the Spirit which is the third – the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

What happens in water baptism? Romans 6:4 TPT-- "Sharing in his death by our baptism means that we were co-buried with him, so that when the Father’s glory raised Christ from the dead, we were also raised with him. We have been co-resurrected with him so that we could be empowered to walk in the freshness of new life!" In water baptism we go down in the grave by faith and leave our old sinful self behind in the grave – dead – buried! Baptism is a funeral for the old man! We make a public declaration that we belong to Jesus, that we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and we bury our old man (life) in this point of contact called baptism! The blood of Jesus saves us from sin - and the water buries the old man and is where we personally identify with the power of the resurrection! Baptism is a statement I believe in the resurrection power in me!!! He raised me from the dead – I’m fully committed to Him!! I belong to Him!
Hebrews 6:1-3 says "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith towards God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection from the dead and of eternal judgement."
In Matthew 28:19, some of the very last words Jesus spoke before He left earth were Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. This is so important it was a last command, a directive – a fundamental. BAPTISM does mean to be immersed, to be submerged, to go completely under – to be all in – to DIP fully. This message is the first in our foundations series based on these verses - Hebrews 6:1-3 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection not laying again the foundation therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith towards God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection from the dead and of eternal judgement.
So that first one is the FOUNDATION – of repentance from dead works.. This was written to a church – believers – born again, followers of Jesus – who needed to go back to what the foundations of what they believed – the basic, elementary principles of Christ. Foundations or fundamentals are the basics we build on.
God is renewing, reviving, and burning into us to stand fast in the freedom that is ours in TRUSTING Jesus as LORD … TRUST IS AN ACTION …. to have a heart that believes and acts on the promises of God – what He says -- even when you see the opposite. God is eternal and by His grace we have been given eternal life. So if you set your mind, your focus, your gaze on temporary (world) things, you won’t be able to understand an eternal book! They are eternal words – if you read them with a temporary (world) mindset, you won’t UNDERSTAND the mysteries of the kingdom, God’s ways, His miraculous ways! Colossians 3:1-2 says “if then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above … set your mind on things above not on things of the earth! WE DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT OUR EYES ARE ON YOU! God is preparing our hearts to be GOOD GROUND when we fix our gaze on Him!

This week we are looking at a passage from Luke 8:15 – But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who having heard the Word with a NOBLE AND GOOD HEART KEEP IT and bear fruit with patience. Good ground represents a good heart. Having a heart that is prepared to receive the seed – which is what the sower sows - The Word of God. We must have a heart that is open to receive the Word. A GOOD HEART that is ready for the Word to produce. Many believers aren’t seeing the Word produce. Join Pastor Larry McGinnis as he shares more on this series The Making of a Disciple.
Prov 3:5 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths." What does it mean to you to TRUST THE LORD – not just TRUST God, but the LORD!? Romans 10:10 says if you confess with your mouths that JESUS IS LORD and believe in your hearts that God raised Him from the dead you will be SAVED – born again, recreated on the inside, your spirit come alive! From that very first moment we believed, we said JESUS IS LORD – we proclaimed Him to be our MASTER, the One on the throne of our life, the One in control, the One who has the authority and the One we have FAITH in beyond what we see, feel, think or have experienced.
There’s a process, a renewing, a learning to TRUST Him as Lord, to LEAN NOT to our own understanding, to ACKNOWLEDGE Him in all our ways!!! AND giving Him control is not sitting back and being PASSIVE and accepting everything in your life as good! LORDSHIP means hearing His Words and understanding who He is, how to come to Him in faith and how to hold fast and fight for what He has already given us! They have confessed and believe in Jesus Christ but no-one has said "You are important enough to give of myself to apprentice you, to teach and train and lead by example to FOLLOW Jesus" –to BE a disciple. The enemy is out to stop DISCIPLESHIP at all costs!
Matthew 28:19 says "Go therefore and MAKE DISCIPLES of all the nations, baptizing in the Name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Our mandate, our mission, what we are here on this earth to do is to make disciples – this was Jesus' command before He left the earth! That word DISCIPLE means TO FOLLOW. We must be followers of Jesus Christ in order to make followers of Jesus Christ! Join us as Pastor Larry McGinnis shares the first message in a series on making disciples.
We all have areas of our life that are unfruitful, not producing or barren. Most of us are very aware of areas where we lack and the enemy of our soul is usually present to remind us. He also tries to destroy the connection we have with God regarding that lack. How will we respond?

Proverbs 4:23 says 'Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it spring or flow the issues of life." Pastor Larry has, in the last few weeks, been sharing about the Word of God defining and changing this part of us – our heart – our soul -- our thoughts, feelings and choices. To KEEP our heart is to stay connected with what God says and is saying over us – to rightly divide the Word of Truth – to let the Word purify and wash us. This message will help us to understand how that happens and how it does not so we don’t fall for the bait of the enemy!
Acts 3:19 says "repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, so that time of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." You know that word CONVERT? We think it means to become a Christian, accept Jesus, and be converted, but that is not just talking about being converted in your SPIRIT (to be born again and made new with a resurrected spirit). THIS is talking about letting God change your mind (that’s repenting and being converted), changed in your SOUL (your thoughts, feelings, choices) – being given a new identity that impacts the whole you. And how does that happen? The same way you received NEW LIFE. By hearing what God says, you were born again (when we heard God speaking and responded, believed in our heart and confessed with our mouth). It started with the Word of God – Him speaking to us! That’s the same way our soul is upgraded (converted, renewed, saved). That’s the way Jesus becomes our Salvation!! Listen as Pastor Larry McGinnis shares a message about how the WORD changes us!

Our souls are a pool of what we've experienced, what we've learned, what's been said about us, what we have thought, felt and the choices and mistakes we've made and, also, what we believe. • Ephesians 2:13 – in Christ Jesus you who were once far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
• Romans 5:9 – having been justified by His blood we are saved from wrath
• Hebrews 10:19 – having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of the Lamb
• Hebrews 9:14 – how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to the serve the living God?
• 1 Peter 1:18-19 – ransomed from our futile ways --- with the precious blood of Christ, like a lamb without spot or blemish.
