Headed by the show's two hosts who are from rural North Carolina, Isaiah Woodie and Cameron Hunt, these two young men dare to take a chop at a wide range of topics from political issues, masculinity, and Christianity. Feeling good is temporary. Being good is eternal. This quote has found its way onto the vision board that I keep in my office, and for a good reason. There is a profound difference between fleeting moments of pleasure and the lasting impact of living a life rooted in goodness. Understanding the inheritance of temporary pleasure and eternal fulfillment can help us make the correct decisions, and ensure that we get what we want out of this life. The pursuit of temporary satisfaction can often leave us feeling empty, while cultivating enduring virtues leads to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Every one of us has to make a choice of who we will serve. The Bible makes this very clear. But what isn’t so clearly written, is the responsibility that we hold towards that service, as well as everything that we are accountable for. On today's episode we talk about what it means to serve God, what we are accountable to God for, and how we can serve God properly in every area of our life.
Observe the world around you long enough, and you will find that the world is full of lies. From the media, to the politicians, to Hollywood, everyone is trying to sell you a version of reality that just isn’t true. So how do we deal with such deceit in the world? The answer is simple. Accept nothing less than the absolute truth. The truth is like a mirror, it will show everything that stands in the way of its reflection. Regardless of how ugly or beautiful it may be, what is shown in the mirror is a simple and honest reflection of what truly is. What matters is how we respond to that reflection. Will we reject the image it gives us, and demand that reality bend to our will. Or will we accept the truth, and live at peace with the image we see, knowing that genuine effort is the only way we will ever improve the reflection that we look into.
We have heard it said that power corrupts. As far as history can tell, that saying holds true. No matter what form of government, corruption always finds its way into the heart of those who wield power. It was for this reason that our founding fathers instituted a republic with separation of powers, and checks and balances, that is subject to the will of the people. But over time, the power that we the people hold has been diverted to the bureaucracy. And the transparency and obedience that we expect from our elected officials has been all but forgotten. As frightening as it may be, it requires someone to stand up against it if it is ever going to get fixed. And in one very famous and specific example, we can see exactly what happens when one man decides to stand up against this kind of corruption.
Ambition, courage, and conviction are all noble attributes to possess. But any one of these values, if not sustained, can quickly lead to us burning out and leaving our passions and skills behind us. We need all three of these attributes if we are ever going to turn our passions and skills into anything worthwhile or profitable. But in order to count on all three, there is a fourth virtue that we must possess. A virtue which ensures the other three and holds them together like glue. Consistency. Consistency is the greatest superpower that anyone can have. Often times the difference between success and failure, isn’t talent or ability, but consistency. A man who can consistently do a good job, is more desirable than a man that can do a great job on an inconsistent basis. Sticking with our passions and skills is the great divider between those who really want it and those who don’t. If you can’t do something over a long period of time, you will never see the progress that you desire.
Having a high level intelligence is one of the most coveted attributes on the planet. Everyone wants to be considered smart. This is because being smart is naturally linked to a higher level of success. Of the most famous figures throughout history, there are very few, if any, that we would consider dumb. It is intelligence that increases your potential for success, and the intentional application of intelligence that allows you to achieve that success. I strongly believe that in today's society, we are seeing a decrease in average intelligence. You can blame the public school system, or lazy parents, but I personally would place the blame upon something much larger and much more important. The lack of truth, and subsequently, the absence of pursuit of truth. When a society is no longer provided with truth and the ambition to pursue it, idiocy prevails.
Discrimination is a word that has been thrown around a lot throughout American history. Whether de facto or de jure, people widely agree upon the idea that discrimination is evil. But practicing discrimination isn’t always unjust. It is ignorance, hatred, and malice that pushes discrimination across the line towards injustice.
You are the bad guy. This phrase is one that nobody wants to hear. But thats what makes it so important. Every one of us needs a person in our life who is willing to tell us when we are in the wrong. Just like we need to be able to accept the fact that we can be wrong. And we also need to be willing to understand that some people will always think we are in the wrong, no matter what we say or do. For all of these reasons, we all need to get very comfortable with the idea that we are more than capable of being the villain. In fact, you are very likely already the villain in somebody else’s story. Or perhaps the villain in your own story.
The physical world is only 1/3 of our being. Then why do we make it our entire focus? Especially when it is actually the least important aspect of our existence. It is this undue attention on the physical world that makes our life more difficult than it needs to be. There is more pleasure to be found in this life. But we will never find it in the physical. It can only be found beyond the five senses.
Chess is life. Its difficulty to master and satisfaction to win makes it both a frustrating and worthwhile endeavor. It can not be won easily. There is no cheating, no card counting, or rule bending that can tip the game in your favor. It’s all about what you do. Your ability to perceive the board around you and respond with the best possible move. Your ability to outwit your opponent, and beat them by sheer superiority of your actions. The game alone is a comparison for life. But the lessons that can be extracted from strategy and understanding the job of each piece on the board is what has made chess into the most important board game in history.
The world is lonesome. I see it as no mistake that God would make us as individuals. Responsible for our own lives, and capable of making our own decision. There is a cruelty and a kindness to such a design. On the one hand, we are free. To speak, act, and think as we wish is the greatest kindness God could bestow on His creation. However it is this kindness that leads us in to trouble most often. Despite this fact, it would be a cruelty for God to take this ability from us. For us to give it to Him, however, is an entirely different concept. The freedom of man makes him lonely. But a man who gives this freedom to God, will find that God is willing to exchange it with something much greater. His presence in our life.
As the 2024 election season is ramping up, Babylon is roaring. But all of this chaos was designed, or at least allowed.
Winston Churchill's famous "Never let a good crisis go to waste" is the mantra of the Kingdom of Babylon. As the world descends into crisis, Babylon rises like a phoenix from the ashes. With 4 BILLION people going to the polls to decide their leadership this year, now is the perfect opportunity for Babylon to make its checkmate move to work its way into the drivers seat. How will we respond?
Leadership is a very crucial and coveted position. The ability to call the shots, make the decisions, and direct the outcomes. It’s all that anybody wants. It’s why people will spend their whole life trying to climb the corporate ladder, or risk it all to start their own business. The position of leadership, in and of itself, is an inspiration to those who admire it and a motivation to those who aspire for it. So then it stands to reason that a leader should be someone who is equally respectable as the position they hold. A person of great moral authority and responsibility. Someone who will not shirk from great challenges, but gladly welcome them. Who in the midst of their failures will humble themselves at the mercy of the people they serve, and accept their due consequence, without excuse or casting blame. And in the midst of their victories will step aside, and exalt all those who would otherwise get no recognition. We all know the quality of a leader when we see one. So why don’t we examine the leadership we have now?
Modern Christianity is at odds with its traditional counterpart. Historically, Christianity held a very strict attitude against sin, and its affect on the life of a believer. Christians have been known for their abstinence towards a life of sin, and have even been criticized for their sincerity to the word of God. But that is only historically speaking. Today, the line is becoming blurred on what Christians constitute as sin, and what they are willing to tolerate or even allow. The modern church has become a friend of sin, by allowing clear contradictions to Gods word to find its way into society, as well as its congregation. Many modern Christians will tell you that they believe God doesn't care about sin as much as we have been told to believe. This line of thinking is wrong. The God of the Old Testament has not changed. It is Christians themselves that have changed. Just as Israel left God, the church is now guilty of the same. Abstaining from all appearances of evil is more important now as it has ever been.
Each day is a new opportunity, where everything is possible, and anything can happen. This is true of every life that exists on this earth. So then why do we allow each day to pass us by while we mindlessly live within our routines. Routines, in and of themselves, are neither positive nor negative. It is the direction in which our routines steer us that determines their worth or the lack thereof. A passive routine will lead you into a life of complacency. Living each day with no aim, no purpose, and no ambition. A cog in the machine. A pin in the wheel. Living just for the sake of getting by. Each day sinking lower and lower into the pit of inaction. But an active routine has the exact opposite result. It will lead you to the life you have dreamed of. By living each day with direction, purpose, and ambition, you will find yourself developing the machines that others are a part of. No longer a pin in the wheel, but the person in the drivers seat. Living for the sake of the next great achievement. Each day compounding your successes and growing exponentially. I believe this is the life that most of us want. So then how do we achieve it?
If Genesis 1:1 is true, and the story of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ is true, then the rest of the Bible is applicable to our life.
The fact that we are existing in a created universe, with evidence for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that can not be refuted, is testament to the importance of the Bible.
With all of that being true, it must mean that there is a greater purpose for Christians and humanity as a whole. This calling is directly tied to the divinity of Christ that was revealed through his resurrection.
On January 20, 1961 John F. Kennedy repeated the Oath of Office and was sworn in as America’s 35th President. He then turned to the great audience around him, and in keeping with tradition, delivered his inaugural address to the nation. The conclusion to his address began with perhaps his most memorable words. “Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.” But he didn’t stop there. The last sentence of his address reads as follows: “With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own.” In a speech with such powerful patriotic messages, this last line seems to be a subscript at the end of the page. Forgotten by those who heard it, and the generations that have heard it since. But this line is not just a closing remark. Any great writing teacher will tell you that a conclusion paragraph should be the most powerful and relevant section of your speech or writing. It is a gift you give to your audience. Your opportunity to show them that what you said should hold significance in their life. It is the glue that holds the rest of your writing together. The single point that binds everything together. And how beautiful it was that JFK referenced our obligation to God.
We often find ourselves looking to history for examples of great renaissance men. Men whose interests covered a vast array of topics and whose expertise was apparent in several areas. Men who were philosophers, warriors, tradesmen, and artists. Men who could satisfy the requirements of any situation. This caliber of man seems to be mostly lost to history. With the stark contrasts of white and blue collar life being used to divide men into separate camps that demonize the other side. The sleazy businessmen never seeking to understand the values of hard-working tradesmen, likewise the uneducated worker rejecting the virtues of sophistication. It’s a tale as old as time itself, but no longer should it last. Why do we accept this division? Should we not seek the good in all things and implement what is helpful? Certainly nobody would disagree with improvement. Why then do we refuse to participate in it?
As I look around society today, I notice a lack of purpose and order in the lives of most people. It seems that western culture is lacking a true sense of direction and perspective in life. Despite the wealth of information available to us in the 21st century, we seem to be no more wiser than the generations that came before us. As the noise of a thousand voices attempt to pull society in all different directions, the average westerner sits quietly in the middle fantasizing about a simpler time. Are times worse now than they were before? Certainly that can’t be true. How can the most enlightened and liberal setting in all of history create such a nihilistic and apathetic society? And what is the cure for this aimlessness?
Fun and Joy sound the same, but they couldn’t be more different. While both of them are associated with happiness, there are stark differences between the two that we must take into consideration. Today we will talk about those differences and why joy is a more admirable pursuit than fun. As people who aspire to find meaning in life, we will oftentimes have to sacrifice fun in order to find a deeper joy that may await us. And while this may get us some weird looks from people in the short term, we will find that it will be much more worth it in the end.
Babylon wages war against Zion. It is the tale as old as time itself, but few will listen or understand its truth.
The only war that matters in this world is not Russia and Ukraine. It isn't Palestine and Israel. and it isn't America and China. In fact, the participants of this war don't have physical borders. They have no earthly resources. No arms, no weapons, and no munitions.
This war is a spiritual war. A war that exist between good and evil. Between Zion and Babylon. And though it casts itself into physical reality, it is fought solely on the spiritual plane. LISTEN AND LEARN the reality of the world we live in.
Integrity is the foundational virtue of a good character. If that is true, then it begs the question: "Why is there such a lack of integrity?"
It is true, and the lack of integrity in todays society is the root cause of a lot of the problems that we are seeing manifest in young people. Depression, anxiety, pessimism, self-hatred, and many of these negative emotions are directly linked to the lack of integrity in a persons life. We were all created for a purpose, and it is our duty to fulfill that purpose.
God calls each of us to serve. Many of us wish to serve, but feel as if we don't know how, or that our attempts at service are not well-received. the Bible tells us exactly the attitude to exhibit as we serve others, and how to appropriately serve. All service begins and ends with God in mind. I myself have been a victim of the consequences that my selfish service has produced. When we walk in the Spirit, we will learn to serve in the Spirit.
Without order, there is no way you can fulfill you purpose. Order is the value that creates an environment for success. If we are going to be productive in our daily lives and provide stability for ourselves and those around us, we have to learn the art of establishing order.

Tyrannical Governments hate one thing more than anything else: Capable, Confident, and Contrarian citizens. As tyranny begins to creep back into American government, it is important that we understand how to defeat this tyranny before it takes ultimate control. The only way to do this, is to live a life that is in complete rebellion to the life that they want you to live.
Today’s episode is a little different, but it fits the theme. In life. There will be days where you don’t feel like showing up. There will also be days when you are ecstatic to show up. The most important thing, and the common denominator, is actually SHOWING UP. Without showing up, we can’t expect any results.
The majority of society today prioritizes their comfort and pleasure above most everything else. If it feels good to them and makes them happy, they do it. That is the narrative that has been pushed on society recently. "Do what makes you happy."
However, Christians need to reject this idea. As a Christian, you are called to flee pleasure. In todays watered down version of Christianity, you may be made to believe that God wants your life to be easy and full of satisfaction. This could not be further from the truth. God calls his followers to flee pleasure and pick up our cross daily.

Americans have gotten fatigued with the news cycle the past two years. It seems like every time we turn around there is a new aid package or funding bill that Americans will never legitimately benefit from.
In this episode, Isaiah shares his opinion on the newest Ukraine/border spending bill. Not from a policy or foreign relations perspective, but from the perspective of a fatigued American patriot. Americans are tired of the lip service and empty spending bills that seem to be flying out of the halls of congress and wrecking our American economy. It is time for a change. Americans have a desire for action.
On this episode of Mens Monday, we talk about keeping things simple. Often times we tend to overcomplicate things in order to spur along results quicker. This tactic leads to a quicker burnout and can even drive us away from what actually works. Regardless of what level of progress or success you are at, it is important to keep things simple if you want to continue to succeed.
