Hungarian K12 education is peculiar in that it is highly flexible. It could also actually be longer than 12 years. Twelve years could be spent in the same school even. These and other oddities from a teacher's perspective are featured in the episode. We also touch on teacher training, university-run practice schools, the fierce rivalry among prestigious high schools, and possible reform on both the K12 system itself and teacher training. Feedback as always is much appreciated:)

In this back to school special (totally a coincidence by the way), I talk to a med school student headed for his 5th year in med school. Fifth-year, did I say? Well, he is from Hungary and the education system is a little different there so the fifth year is not the result of failed exams. This is a conversation about the admission process, how much study it takes to keep afloat and to pass the exams, and how med school students release stress (spoiler alert, not the healthiest way). Feedback as always is much appreciated.:)

Under lockdown, we start to miss and appreciate better the simple(-ish)  things in life like bars, cafes, sports matches. But do we know how much work goes into organizing an event for our enjoyment? In this episode, a  good friend of mine leads us behind the scenes of a top tier equine  championship and shares other stories about equine sports and horseback riding. Feedback as always is much appreciated:)

In this episode, I get to know more about a real-life Phileas Fogg.  Chris recounts how he began traveling, memorable moments from Thailand,  Vietnam, Cambodia, the US, Hungary... and this is not even half of the places that he's been to. Even if you're not particularly interested in traveling, there are hilarious stories in here so give it a go. Feedback as always is much appreciated:)

In Episode #2, I sit down with a high-school friend who has been the epitome of "the international life". She shared her experience in Denmark as an international student, her impressions of Danish society, cultural differences between Denmark and Hungary, her brief trip to South-East Asia and Japan last year. Culture shock to the power of... whatever number. Feedback as always is much appreciated:)

I am incredibly lucky to have my cousin on in the very first episode of the podcast. We talked about how he entered the gaming industry, the brief but tumultuous history of gaming, how it emerged from "geek culture" to the mainstream, his experiences at the 2014 World Championships and whether the name esports is appropriate or not.

We recorded the podcast on basically the opposite sides of the globe and the WiFi connection wasn't always perfect so the sound goes a little rough around the hour mark, please bear with us for those few minutes.

I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did. Please let me know if you have any thoughts, comments, or questions on any social media platform or in email.
