A show devoted to the happenings in and around the beautifully restored Brownwood Lyric Theatre in downtown Brownwood TX. Built in 1946, the Lyric is now host to plays, musicals, movies and concerts! Our biweekly podcast will primarily shine its light on our Lyric Stage Performers as well as those who make the magic from behind the scenes. Created, hosted & edited by Paul Underwood. Drex and Alisa welcome Aizlyn Denton and Ben Blanton, two of the featured performers in the Lyric’s upcoming production of Puffs. Even though rehearsals are only a few days in, they share their first impressions of the magical mayhem, what it’s been like stepping into some of the show’s biggest roles, and what they’re most excited to discover as rehearsals continue. They also reflect on the hard work that recently helped them advance to the Texas UIL State competition in high school and how that experience has prepared them for the adventure ahead. It’s a fun, early look at a production that’s already full of laughs, heart, and plenty of wizarding mischief

Billie Harvey's contributions to the Lyric have been wide ranging, innumerable and indispensable. She and husband Jonathan first appeared in 2007's Fiddler On the Roof where Billie played Fruma Sarah. Since then, she's served as Lighting Director, Set Designer, Technical Director, Director, Chorus and Lead Actress; spanning well over a dozen shows. If there was a Lyric Hall of Fame, Billie would be well on her way to induction!
I sit down with Jeff inside Teddy's Brewhouse. Beers (and a few tears) flow as we discuss the legacy of his father, his beautiful family, numerous life re-inventions, his love of American history, oh... and a little theatre talk as well.
