This wraps up yet another season. On the final episode of Season 2, Sudhan and I had an interactive session with our Dutch partners about discrimination and biases. We shared conversation, challenged each other, listened and learned from one another.
Sudhan and I will explore the importance of setting boundaries. We will go through every relationship in our lives: ranging from ourselves, our friends, our significant others, family and siblings and finally the relationships at work.

What does belonging mean with globalization? Is a sense of belonging tied down to a place, a community or a feeling? When do we as immigrants or expats become Dutch? What defines being Dutch? Does socializing within the country help us feel more included within the communities, or excluded? When will we feel like we belong? Join Sudhan and I as we contemplate what it takes to belong.
We will talk about the lockdown in the Netherlands. Sudhan will speak more about how he adjusted when he lost his job. I will share my perspective on working from home and how COVID has influenced a positive change to prioritize employees physical and mental health, in some corporate companies. Together we will explore privilege, self-care, the lessons learnt from the pandemic, and the how difficult it is to be far away from our loved ones in these times.
On this episode, Sudhan and I tackle marriage, career vs love, gender roles in sharing responsibility and striking a balance with your significant other when it comes to house hold duties and the million-dollar question of the episode: is financial contribution the biggest contribution in a relationship?

Introducing, Sudhan. We will reflect on our lives and the decision behind relocating to the Netherlands, the difficulties we faced along the way that influenced our choices, and he will be schooling me on samenleving – translating to Living Together - and what an ideal plural society should look and feel like.
I had the pleasure of hosting Ken and he walked me through his life, having been born and raised in The Netherlands but being of Suriname background. We tackled conversations in regards to racial injustices, feeling empowered and having the courage to stand up for what's right.
Together with Elena and Eva, we shared personal experiences and frustrations when it comes to lack of knowledge in consent, rape culture, men not being held accountable and the various instances in our lives as women that we are affected by sexism and how we can gather the courage to stand up.
