Jake Jordan is one of the best humans on the planet. It might be because we’re both very similar, Hufflepuffs and ENFJ’s babyyy! We used to work on a project together, The UnLearn Show…and I’ll just speak for myself, but it was deep and healing in so many ways.

In this episode we talk a lot about human optimization and how to find clarity. If you’re feeling stuck, it likely comes back to a lack of clarity. Get clear on you, implement what you find, and see how your world shifts. We discuss how to stop living a life for everyone else, writing your obituary, and the frameworks of life.

Jake is a passionate, cause driven individual that works with cause driven individuals + organizations.

Laura is an incredible human, I’ve known her since kindergarten as we re-discover on this podcast.

Sometimes we see the people around us as infallible or “having their shit together” and then you discover that so much of what we go through is very similar. The exact series of events may differ, but what we feel and experience is very much the same.

In this episode, we chat about:

*💜 understanding & owning your worth

🍷 alcoholism and getting sober*

☠️ the importance of facing death

Amos is hands down one of my favorite humans and not just because he is my boyfriend and partner on this wild ride of life. He holds strong opinions, yet is always genuinely curious about the other perspectives. He has a unique outlook oh AND…he was brought up in a religious cult of sorts and has been spending a lot of time UNlearning.

We chat about what it was like for him growing up, then beginning to challenge some of the antiquated ideas, and what it looks like now.

Alex Galviz is an incredible writer because she is authentic to her core. She left her corporate job after having a quarter life crisis and has been on an evolution journey ever since. I highly recommend you check out her Linkedin channel and read some of her works. Alex has been on a wild ride, from a miscarriage to a quarantine break up—this year did not go easy on her.

I love this episode because we get to dive into the “woo” side of life…alternative modes of healing, shamanic work, akashic records, and lots of other fun things that you have to stretch your mind a bit for. Plus, we just get really REAL.

Tim Salau or Mr. Future of Work is an all around amazing human, committed to community. During his college days, he repped brands like WeWork & Linkedin (his content has garnered more than 40 million views). After graduating, he jumped on board with Microsoft until he became founder and CEO of Guide.

Back in 2017, I was scrolling on Linkedin—right around the time that they launched video and I came across some of Tim’s content. It wasn’t your usual business professional buttoned up content, it was REAL.

I still credit him as one of the reasons I started creating content on Linkedin.

In this episode we chat about building an abundant life, purpose versus passion, and how to cultivate a beginner’s mindset.

Getting REALLY real as I try something new today.

If you're new to The Dying Project, it's based on an actual project that I did in 2018 where I lived like I was actually dying for 6 months. In addition to long form convos, I'm adding in journal entries from the actual project.

Be advised: there is some strong language used associated with Erik’s past experiences.

IN 2018, I flew halfway around the world to meet someone I met on the internet. Linkedin to be exact. Weirdly, some of my most favorite humans have come to me by way of Linkedin and Erik is one of them.

ANYWAY—I got to Barcelona, ate some French fries, and passed out on his couch. What I loved about this trip was that there were ZERO shallow conversations to be had. To this day, it is one of my most favorite trips I’ve ever taken. I’m so grateful for Erik and this kind of friendship. This conversations is no different than those convos we had in 2018. We talk about money struggles, connecting with humans, and dive deep into identity.

Diana Sullivan is my intuitive. When I can’t make sense of life, she helps bring clarity. What’s interesting to me is that there can be such an aversion to astrology, yet we love shit like Meyer’s Briggs and other personality tests that are based on Carl Jung’s archetypes. Those archetypes are based on…..drum roll please…ASTROLOGY! Essentially in nature there exist patterns, Jung called them synchronicities (he actually coined that word). These exist on the macro and the micro, they don’t necessarily indicate causation—yet they still EXIST. Astrology takes these patterns and says here’s how to work with this energy and that’s exactly what Diana does.

Kira Day knows her shit when it comes to passion, way beyond the buzzword. Our conversations typically devolve into rambles about the science behind the ‘woo’. We chat about what passion actually is, ways in which we are learning to set boundaries, and why social and emotional intelligence is the most integral part to the solution needed in the world today.

She and I are working on some cool things together and I can’t wait to let y’all in on it.

Mackenzie Selby is the most honest and mentally/emotionally strong person that I know. I value her insights and talks more than any other person on this planet. I've known her since high school and we went down some very dark places together...not only that but we also started our healing together. We went from a life of debauchery all before ever taking a legal drink to getting sober and doing the work--and continuing to do the work.

She has worked in the mental health space for the past ten years and knows the in's and out's of helping folks get on the right path.  We talk a lot about our own shit, including relationships, sex, and things we've learned this past year.

Disclaimer: Mackenzie is one of my oldest and closest friends and confidants, we tend to use colorful language more than normal in this episode.

Welcome to The Dying Project! Happy to be back podcasting and connecting with you fine folks. I realized that I'm going to be asking my guests to get honest, so I should do the same. In this episode, I talk about navigating some pretty serious health issues that I ran into late last year that were compounded with the quest for balance with ongoing mental health issues. That plus whatever tangents I veer off for--can't wait to share the upcoming episodes where I chat with other people besides myself.

Sustainable League Ep. 21 X Catherine Sherlock Change the World, Change Yourself

This is one of my favorite conversations, recorded pre-pandemic. Before we started this podcast we took 6 deep breaths and I would encourage you to do the same before listening to this. Catherine spent 20+ years in the environmental space before making a shift into something that would allow to have deeper impact, something that she used most of her life—MINDFULNESS.

  • Evolve.
  • Less about meditation, more about brain states.
  • Your ego is not bad.
  • Your emotions, ALL OF THEM, are okay. Don’t push them away, connect with them instead.
  • Mindset Shift > Environmental Changes

Clay Thomas, previously VP of Marketing at Green Lotus Hemp and now Founder of Denton Creative, is a wiz in all things branding, marketing, and technology. If you don't have the marketing resources, but need help in any of those arenas...check out his AMAZING blog. It is chock full of resources that would be insanely valuable to any brick & mortar where—you didn’t put much into digital before and are having to make that transition now. Or hire him, NOW. Seriously.

We’re seeing tons of smaller/mid size businesses shutting down as this pandemic continues on and I personally don’t want to live in a world where small businesses don’t exist. As a community, as businesses, as individuals—we can pull our resources and lend a hand where we can. Whether that be through volunteering efforts or offering up your years of experience in marketing or whatever skill it may be.
