Michael Schwartz, a gun rights advocate from San Diego who used to belong to the members’ councils, confirmed Dezarea Payne’s account. “The attitude from Paul Payne was very strange,” Schwartz said in regard to an NRA convention trip he made at Payne’s urging. “He was treating it like it was some kind of covert military op, which was beyond ridiculous. He had us staying at a hotel that was away from the convention center. We were told not to talk to any NRA employees or any NRA board members. We were told not to tell anybody why we were there.”)

DC AG’s Complaint “In recent years, the NRA has experienced financial problems related, in large part, to low membership and the NRA’s decision to continue to waste funds on improper, lavish spending. To plug financial holes caused by its own poor management, the NRA turned to the Foundation’s funds. Because the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and executives are dominated by the NRA, and the NRA had subverted the Foundation’s independence, the Foundation has allowed itself to be financially exploited through, among other things, unfair loans and management fee payments to the NRA.”

Gangsters of Capitalism "Rigging the Election" In the episode, NRA instructor and member Dezarae Payne describes how her husband, Paul Payne, from whom she is separated, has since the late 1990s worked secretly to tilt board elections in favor of LaPierre. Paul Payne has been an NRA employee, administrator of the NRA Members’ Councils of California, a state affiliate, and a liaison to LaPierre.

The Trace (I know) reported that according to court documents Wayne LaPierre said, "...numerous times that Mr. Brewer was the only person that was going to keep him out of jail.” Pressed on why jail was a worry, Montgomery swore that LaPierre told “everyone in the room that, ‘you don’t know what you don’t know.’”

New York Charges the NRA with Violating insurance laws, deceiving members

Lockton was fined $7 million by the New York regulator in May 2018 over its involvement with Carry Guard.
The Department of Financial Services is seeking up to a $500 penalty for each of the 28,000 policies issued to New York residents. 500 x 28000 = $14,000,000. Annual Memberships at $45/14,000,000 = 311,111.1.

NRATV Wanted to Become a 24/7 Newsroom Using NRA Funds: Ex-Host
- ex-host Grant Stinchfield claimed in an affidavit filed last week that now-defunct NRATV streaming platform once had aspirations to be a full-fledged news operation. -The Daily Beast
- “In the final 18 months, AMc representatives progressively discovered that LaPierre and his executive team, with the board’s oversight and approval, were marketing false products and narratives to NRA members, covering up sexual harassment, attempting to intimidate public officials, disrupting internal investigations about Russia, spending member money for personal benefit and more,” the ad firm further railed against NRA in a statement last month.
- Newsweek - The Oklahoma-based firm, Ackerman McQueen, told Newsweek Tuesday that it would counter allegations from Grant Stinchfield, the former host of a self-titled NRATV program, with its own "legal action" against him. Ackerman claims that Stinchfield, who served as host from 2016 until July, provided "inaccurate information under oath" in an affidavit that was filed earlier this month in the NRA's federal lawsuit against the firm.

- According to a 2016 Charity Navigator study, the average nonprofit CEO makes a little more than $123,362 a year. That is only 5% of WLP’s 2018 paycheck reported by the WSJ.

A Well Regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
For us at Save the Second; loving, honoring, enjoying and personally upholding the Second Amendment is who we are. Reforming the NRA is what we do. Second Amendment supporters need the NRA to be at its best. Right now, not next week. Not next year, not in 2021. Now, obviously, it is far from at its best. The NRA is in a discouraging and horrifying state, currently. The reforms that need to happen will not happen without your help. You must be involved. You must be engaged! In order for the NRA to be strong, relevant, effective and accountable, we must reform the NRA leadership and bylaws, reduce the amount of absurd wasteful expenditures, and refocus the NRA on the primary task of providing firearms training and education and protecting the Second Amendment. It is not what the Second Amendment can do for you, it is what you can do for the Second Amendment. Similarly, it is not what the NRA can do for you, it is what you can do for your NRA.

- “The most recent loan in 2017, for $200,000, was given to Hammer – who earns $110,000-a-year as the group’s executive director – so she could “refinance and purchase” real estate, according to Unified Sportsmen’s regulatory filings. Florida Statute 617.0833 prohibits not-for-profit corporations like Unified Sportsmen from loaning money to their directors or officers. “A loan made in violation of this section is a violation of the duty to the corporation of the directors or officers authorizing it or participating in it,” the law says. The loans of charitable assets were approved by the group’s board of directors.”

Executive Session - Executive sessions are generally closed discussions of a board of directors that may include invited attendees such as an executive director or certain staff members.
