The TeamDCU Podcast - from Dublin City University - gives secondary school students an authentic sense of what it’s like to study a wide range of DCU courses, as well as life at the university.
The ‘TeamDCU’ podcast series was launched in April 2020, and has 14 episodes
The podcast series features interviews between DCU’s student ambassadors and Spin 103 broadcaster and recent DCU Communications graduate Leanne Hanafin.
The wide range of courses featured are from across DCU’s five faculties: DCU Institute of Education, the DCU Faculty of Science & Health, DCU Faculty of Computing & Engineering, DCU Business School, and the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences.
The series features interviews with current DCU students from Business Studies, Accounting & Finance, Aviation Management, Business Studies International with Spanish, Business Studies Global German, Analytical Science, Science Education, PE with Maths, Psychology, Enterprise Computing, Early Childhood Education, International Relations, Economics, Politics and Law, and Communication Studies.
In the interviews, students explain why they chose DCU; what to expect year by year; what supports are in place if students are struggling to cope; the importance of work placements; exams and assessments; campus life outside of the course; and life after DCU.

Enda talks about the reason why he chose to pursue Sport Science and Health and the crucial role of INTRA in this career field.
"Make an informed choice in your CAO. Do the research. Talk to a student and talk to a lecturer. Find and email the people you need to talk to. And the last big thing would be, before any course you do, consider yourself wrong. Be open to new ideas and think of how you're going to develop on this course and go from there."

Host Sinead McCrohan talks to John Kirwan, a third year student in Applied Language and Translation Studies.
'I chose this course specifically because I really wanted to just give all of my attention to language studies in their essence, and not do something like business with the language, or maybe journalism with the language. 'They're great options as well. But I knew this was the one for me in that sense.
'The processes of translating and even interpreting and learning about those things really interested me as well,' he said.
John is also very involved in clubs and societies in DCU, and discusses life on campus.

Kate Goodman, a third year Aviation Management student in Dublin City University, chats with broadcaster Leanne Hanafin about why she chose the course. The first three years of the course provide students with a general introduction to business analysis, the aviation sector, technical aspects of piloting and industry relevant work experience.
