In a world that often feels increasingly hostile, especially toward Jews and Christians, it’s easy to grow weary. Recent events—the tragic antisemitic terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney during Hanukkah celebrations, ongoing violence against Christian communities in places like Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo, rising incidents of harassment and vandalism worldwide—remind us that evil is active and bold. Yet, in the face of such darkness, God’s Word offers timeless encouragement.
Psalm 37:1-13 in the New Living Translation speaks directly to this moment:
Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither.
Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper, it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.
Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.
The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming.
David reminds us: The schemes of the wicked may rage now, but they are temporary. God sees it all, and He has a plan. Regardless of the attacks on God’s people—whether Jews facing resurgent antisemitism or Christians enduring persecution—do not lose heart. Trust in Him, commit your ways to Him, and rest in His ultimate justice.
Here are some practical ways to live out this truth today:
- Do not back down in speaking the truth of the Gospel. The enemy wants to silence believers, but we are called to proclaim Christ boldly. As the wicked “plot against the godly,” stand firm in sharing the hope we have.
- Be prepared to answer questions about your faith—train yourself. Apologetics isn’t just for scholars; it’s for every believer (1 Peter 3:15). Equip yourself with reasons for your hope so you can respond wisely and graciously to skeptics or opponents.
- Remember, Jesus said we are the light of the world—even in the political realm. We shine brightest when we engage culture with truth and love, including politics. Don’t withdraw; let your light expose darkness and point to Christ’s kingdom.
- Don’t give in to online rage bait. Be aware of the issues—antisemitism, persecution, cultural shifts—but don’t let inflammatory posts stir fear or anger in you. Stop being angry; it only leads to harm. Scroll wisely and respond with peace.
- Pray for all that is going on in the world, especially for those led astray. Intercede for victims of violence, but also for perpetrators and those deceived by false religions or dangerous belief systems. Pray for eyes to be opened to the truth of Christ.
- Be at peace. The Lord laughs at the plots of the wicked because He knows their end. Wait patiently for Him to act. Delight in Him, and find your heart’s desires fulfilled in His presence.
Brothers and sisters, the grass withers, the flowers fade—but the Word of our God stands forever. God has a plan, and it includes victory for His people. Do not fret. Trust, do good, and watch Him work.
In every generation, the people of God have faced cultural distractions capable of pulling hearts away from Christ. Today, one of the most subtle and destructive distractions is the rise of conspiracy theories. They spread quickly, appeal to emotion, create an “us vs. them” mentality, and often claim secret knowledge that others—including the church—have supposedly overlooked.
But conspiracy thinking isn’t new. And the danger it poses to Christians—our witness, our unity, and our trust in God—is real.
Followers of Jesus must learn to recognize the landmines of conspiracy thinking, resist them, and keep their focus on Christ and His kingdom.
1. History Warns Us: Conspiracy Thinking Has Hurt God’s People BeforeSome of the most destructive chapters of history began with conspiracy thinking—especially when societies blamed the Jewish people for the world’s problems.
The Black Death (1348–1350)During the bubonic plague, rumors spread that Jews were poisoning wells. These claims were completely false, but mass paranoia took hold. Jewish communities were attacked, exiled, and murdered.
The historian Norman Cohn writes:
“Fear, suspicion, and hatred combined with wild rumor to produce a conviction that Jews were conspiring to poison Christendom.”
(The Pursuit of the Millennium)
The “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” (1903)This forged document claimed Jews were secretly plotting to take over the world. It was debunked many times—but conspiracy thinking doesn’t rely on evidence. It fueled decades of antisemitism and helped pave the way for the Holocaust.
Historian Richard S. Levy notes:
“The myth endured because it gave simple answers to complex problems and created a villain people felt justified hating.”
(Antisemitism: A Historical Encyclopedia)
Nazi Germany (1933–1945)Hitler built much of his propaganda on conspiracy theories: that Jews secretly controlled banks, media, and world governments. These ideas were not factual—they were deadly.
“The Holocaust was built on a conspiracy theory.”

The church must remember these examples. When Christians entertain conspiracies today—especially those that demonize groups of people—we echo the same dangerous patterns of the past.
2. Why People Are Drawn to Conspiracies: Insights From Modern PsychologyModern psychology gives us important insight into why conspiracy theories are so appealing—and why believers must be especially careful.
A. Conspiracies offer simple explanations for complex problemsLife is complicated. Evil is real. Politics is messy. Conspiracy theories offer what psychologists call “cognitive closure”—the comfort of clear, simple answers.
Dr. Karen Douglas, a leading researcher on conspiracy thinking, writes:
“Conspiracy theories provide people with a false sense of understanding when the world feels unpredictable.”
B. Conspiracies help people feel special or ‘in the know’Researchers call this “epistemic ego boost.” It makes people feel like they belong to an enlightened minority who can see what others cannot.
This is spiritual quicksand for Christians.
C. Conspiracies create a sense of identity and belongingPsychologists note that conspiracy groups form strong communities centered around shared suspicion.
But this is a counterfeit church, built on fear rather than faith.
D. Conspiracies reinforce fear-based thinkingStudies show that when people feel powerless or anxious, conspiracy beliefs go up sharply.
This is why they thrive during pandemics, elections, and cultural unrest.
But God has given His people a different foundation.
3. Why Conspiracy Thinking Is Spiritually DangerousA. Conspiracies distract Christians from the gospelPaul warned Timothy:
“Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.”
— 2 Timothy 2:23
When believers spend more time spreading theories than sharing Christ, the enemy has already won.
B. Conspiracies undermine trust in God’s sovereigntyAt their core, conspiracies imply:
“Someone else is secretly controlling the world—and God is not.”
But Scripture teaches:
“The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.”
— Psalm 103:19
C. Conspiracies harm Christian unityThey create suspicion, factionalism, and an unhealthy spirit of fear.
But Scripture calls us:
“Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit.”
— Ephesians 4:3
D. Conspiracies damage our witnessIf Christians spread untruths, exaggerations, or sensational claims, unbelievers begin to distrust the church’s message even when we speak truth.
“Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”
— Colossians 4:6
A conspiracy-soaked church cannot be a gospel-centered church.
4. What Should Christians Focus On Instead?A. Focus on truth, not speculationJesus said:
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
— John 8:32
Truth requires humility, careful thinking, and discernment.
B. Focus on the mission, not the rumorsThe early church lived in a corrupt empire filled with real conspiracies—and they still focused on:
- preaching Christ
- making disciples
- caring for the poor
- living holy lives
Jesus didn’t call us to decode secret plots. He called us to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:19).
C. Focus on Scripture, not speculationConspiracy thinking offers fear.
The Word offers clarity, peace, and direction.
“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure.”
— Philippians 4:8
D. Focus on Christ’s kingdom—not earthly paranoiaConspiracy theories tell you the world is spinning out of control.
Jesus tells you:
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
— John 16:33
The church must not be known for the conspiracies it spreads—but for the hope it offers.
5. Final Call: Stay Wise, Stay Humble, Stay Focused on ChristHistory shows us where unchecked conspiracy thinking leads:
fear, confusion, division, hatred, and violence.
Psychology shows us why people fall for it:
the desire for certainty, belonging, and control.
Scripture shows us the better way:
truth, love, unity, humility, and trust in God.
As followers of Jesus, let us:
- Be wise (Proverbs 14:15)
- Be discerning (1 John 4:1)
- Be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9)
- Be focused on Christ and the gospel
And may our faith be shaped not by the shadows of suspicion,
but by the unshakable truth of God’s Word.
In recent days, a wave of anti-Christian sentiment seems to be rising across the West. One of the most alarming examples has been the morbid celebration surrounding the death of Charlie Kirk, a prominent Christian and political activist.
Disturbingly, this reaction is not isolated—similar hostility has been directed toward others who profess faith in Christ.
Where is this coming from? Is it merely the work of a few disturbed individuals, or is something deeper at play?
As believers, we understand that spiritual warfare is real—but it is shocking to see it manifest so openly. Times of great turmoil on earth often point to intense battles taking place in the heavens. And that reality should call us to prayer.
Persecution against Christians has undeniably increased around the world.
Global Persecution Is a Present RealityWhile in America we have long enjoyed freedom of religion and freedom of speech, many believers around the world do not share that privilege.
Open Doors, an organization that tracks Christian persecution, reports that 4,476 Christians were murdered for their faith last year, 7,769 church properties were attacked, and at least 380 million Christians endured some form of persecution worldwide.
What is persecution? It can involve slander, the loss of certain freedoms, imprisonment, or even giving one’s life for the sake of the gospel. Jesus and the apostles did not shy away from warning us of this reality:
Matthew 5:10–11
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”John 15:18–20
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”2 Timothy 3:12
“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”1 Peter 4:13–14
“But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.”
These passages remind us that persecution is not a sign of God’s absence but rather evidence that we belong to Him. The world’s hostility toward Christians ultimately stems from its rejection of Christ Himself.
Concerning Trends in the WestWhile persecution has long been a reality elsewhere, we are now witnessing troubling signs within Western nations. Freedoms once taken for granted are beginning to erode, especially for those who hold to a biblical worldview.
In Great Britain, 12,000 people were arrested in the past year for sharing something on social media that authorities deemed “objectionable,” “offensive,” or “hate speech.”
Imagine sitting in your home when police knock on your door, question you, and potentially arrest you over a post you made online. That is no longer hypothetical—it’s happening.
Canada is also considering legislation that would silence free expression through the threat of fines and imprisonment. Similar trends can be observed in Europe, Australia, and even parts of the United States, where biblical convictions are increasingly portrayed as dangerous or hateful.
Spiritual Warnings for the Last DaysPaul’s warning to Timothy paints a sobering picture of the spiritual climate in the last days:
2 Timothy 3:1–5 (NLT)
“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!”
Although this passage is broad, the intensity of these attitudes is clearly increasing. There is a growing cultural desire to “throw off” the influence of Christianity—often described in activist and academic circles as dismantling the “power hegemony” of “Christian supremacy.”
Terms like Christian nationalism or Christian identity movement are increasingly applied to ordinary Bible-believing Christians.
Whatever ideology Satan can use to stir up hatred toward the Church, he will exploit. This is not merely a political shift; it is a spiritual battle.
How Should Christians Respond?So what should we do in light of these realities? Jesus has already given us the answer:
- Pray for our enemies and those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).
- Love our neighbors as ourselves, even when they misunderstand or oppose us.
- Stay grounded in a Bible-believing church community where we are strengthened by God’s Word and fellowship.
- Anchor ourselves in Scripture daily. We will need its truth for the days ahead.
Standing Firm in Shifting TimesWe are living in a time when hostility toward the Church is becoming more visible and more intense. But this is not the time to shrink back in fear.
It is the time to stand firm in truth, pray fervently, love boldly, and live faithfully.
The challenges ahead may test us—but they will also refine us. As persecution increases, may we be found faithful, holding fast to Christ and shining His light in an increasingly dark world.
I am sure if your like me Your a little bit emotionally exhausted with all that has gone on the past two weeks. From watching one of the most impactful Christians leaders in this generation be Martyerd for Christ right in front of his family to the shock of watching pure evil manifest itself in those who gleefully were celebrating Charlie Kirks Death. I will tell you, this one hit me hard. Not only because we lost one of the most fearless and effective communicators of the gospel but he was also instrumental in breaking through to younger generations with a Biblical worldview. He was able to contrast Christian values with the ideas that were being taught on college campus’s all over the country. He challenged students to think about why they believed what they believe. He opened a lot of eyes the truth of the gospel.
Why then all the hate? Well unfortunately the western world has been overun with belief system that is set on dismantleing the Christian influence on our culture in regard to marriage, the family, leadership, justice and basically common sense. it was and still is an attempt to rewrite our history and completely transform western culture. Charlie took this belief system head on. Jesus warned us when we stand for him we will be persecuted. There are also some videos where clips where taken out of context to make it look like charlie was supporting something he was against or vice versa. Bottom line is that people are going to believe what they want to believe but you and I as Christians need to be wiser than that. So what should we do?
First of all be ready to share the gospel because there is now a hunger among many to know the truth. At Charlies Memorial the gospel was preached multiple times. there was an altar call and many gave their lives to the Lord. 200,000 people attended and this was seen by millions of people all over the world.at least 100 million online and millions more are going to be watching it this week. Be a person of prayer. Pray that the hearts of those you know would be open to receive Jesus. Maybe you have felt like giving up. but don’t. something is happening in the spiritual realm. God is moving and we need to be moving with him. And last of all guard your heart. Don’t be distracted or led astray by those with would twist the the truth. Keep your eyes on Jesus
We all live with expectations—about God, people, church, and ourselves. What happens when those expectations don’t match reality?
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
— Isaiah 55:9 (ESV)
The Problem with ExpectationsThere isn’t a person alive who hasn’t wrestled with unmet expectations. Expectations are assumptions in our minds that may or may not line up with reality. Some say the safe route is to expect nothing so you’ll never be disappointed—but who wants to live that way?
The goal isn’t pessimism or optimism; it’s biblical realism: placing our hope in God while recognizing the world as it really is.
Even as believers, we form pictures in our heads of how God should work and when He should act. Those preconceived ideas can set us up for disappointment—and sometimes tempt us to quit right before God moves.
A Case Study: Naaman’s Expectation (2 Kings 5:1–14)Naaman, a Syrian commander, sought healing from the prophet Elisha. He arrived with status, gifts, and a mental script for how the miracle should happen.
“Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me… and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.”
— 2 Kings 5:11 (ESV)
Instead, Elisha sent a messenger with simple instructions: “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times.” Offended, Naaman almost walked away. His servants pleaded: “Will you not do it?” He humbled himself, obeyed—and was healed (vv. 13–14).
Lesson 1: God Doesn’t Work by Our ScriptsNaaman’s expectation nearly cost him his miracle. God’s plan often makes sense after obedience, not before.
Lesson 2: Pride Blocks; Humility UnlocksPride says, “Do it my way.” Humility says, “Your word is enough.” When Naaman humbled himself, he received more than he imagined.
What We Can Expect from GodLet’s anchor our expectations to a biblical worldview:
- Power over sin (Rom. 6:6–14)
- Eternal life (John 3:16)
- Christ’s abiding presence—especially in trouble (Matt. 28:20; John 16:33)
These are guaranteed. What isn’t guaranteed are the extra assumptions we often tag onto the Christian life.
Three Common False Expectations1. “Obedience always brings worldly blessing—right now.”
That’s a subtle prosperity gospel. Jesus promised hardship and His presence: “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33
2. “Life should be fair, and people should always treat me kindly.”
We long for justice, but life in a fallen world isn’t fair. Our response?
* Do good without demanding return.
* Serve because of who we are in Christ, not what we’ll get back (Gal. 6:9–10).
3. “Church people will never hurt me.”
The church is an oasis of grace—but it’s still full of people who need grace. Don’t place others on pedestals that set you up for disappointment. Scripture calls us to a rhythm of mutual encouragement and presence: “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works… not neglecting to meet together… encouraging one another.” — Hebrews 10:24–25
Three Practices for Healthy Expectations Stir one another up to do good for God. * Keep meeting together—show up, don’t isolate. * Encourage each other*—give the grace you hope to receive.
ConclusionWe all carry expectations. When they aren’t shaped by Scripture, they set us up for frustration. But when we align our hopes with God’s promises and our actions with His Word, the weight lifts.
“Take my yoke upon you… For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:29–30

A Simple Prayer
Lord, align my expectations with Your Word.
Replace my pride with humility, my scripts with obedience,
and my disappointment with Your peace. Amen.
Tomorrow billions of Christians around the world will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. He still remains the only hope that we have. We are living in difficult times where the truth is under assault from all directions.
Today I woke up to president Biden declaring that the 31st of March a day of transgender visibility. Now some have said this has been going on since 2009 but they know that the 31st of March this year is Easter Sunday.
I will be honest. I found it very insulting and an affront against Christians everywhere. That is those Christians who actually believe in the Bible as God’s Word and don’t try to change its meaning to fit today’s changing morals.
The proclamation itself reads like a declaration of war against Christian parents, churches or anyone who would try to protect children from being subjected to bodily mutilation that is euphemistically called “gender affirming care” or who object to the sexual indoctrination of their children in the public schools. And taking away parent’s rights to raise their children as they see fit.
European countries from Sweden to France have been putting the brakes on offering cross sex hormones and surgery to treat those who exhibit “gender dysphoria” particularly minors.
what has been term “rapid onset gender dysphoria” is, to put it bluntly, the result of brainwashing our youth to believe gender is fluid. this is not only against what the Bible teaches. it is anti- science and medical mal practice.
Unfortunately, those who really do struggle with the various forms of body dysphoria, rather than getting the counseling and help they really need are exposed to this medical quackery as a solution.
as Christians we need to stand for truth and be the light even when the darkness yells back. light is stronger because it comes from God. Don’t give up. share the gospel with those who will listen. pray for those who call you bigot or ignorant because you don’t affirm the lies they believe. And pray for God’s mercy on this country that we might see a revival.
Jesus never said it would be easy. But he is with us through it all. Stand Strong brothers and sisters in Christ..

On October 7th of 2023, Innocent Israeli civilians were attacked by Hamas as well as by various groups of Palestinians who broke through the fence boarding the Gaza Strip. They killed raped and pillaged. They murdered babies, killed parents in front of their children, and took more than 200 people hostage. These are well-documented facts. As a result, Israel decided to finally do what needed to be done. Confront their enemy and dismantle the terrorist organization that has been in charge of the Gaza Strip since 2005.
How did America react? News organizations, which have already been losing credibility with the public completely and uncritically accepted propaganda from Hamas as real news. No verifying of information, no checking sources. They just saw what fit their narrative and published it, Repeating the lies of Hamas that Israel is committing genocide when that is the goal of Hamas. Israel is at war with genocidal terrorists who train their children to hate Jews and think of them as non-human.
Meanwhile here at home, we have young people on our college campuses protesting Israel’s war in Palestine and chanting slogans like “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free” which calls for the complete eradication of the Jewish state. We have also seen multiple cases of antisemitism right here in our own country, a place where Jews should feel safe. Why is this happening? How can so many people be fooled into supporting the Palestinian agenda? Unfortunately, it is far more than just misinformation.
The oppressor vs the oppressed mindset
By now most people have heard of Critical Race Theory or Neo-Marxism. If you have not then here is the short version. CRT takes communism and rather than dividing the world by working class vs the rich it uses Race, gender, or sexual identity (intersectionality) in place of the working class or the oppressed, and the rich are replaced with those who are perceived to have the most power in society which we have been told are rich white Christian males, otherwise known as the oppressors.
The idea is to overthrow the oppressors so the world will be good and full of rainbows and unicorns. Sorry for the sarcasm but this belief system, by its nature, is a a very childish way of understanding the world. However, this belief system has been ingrained in our colleges which were supposed to be institutes for higher learning. As a result, our colleges are churning out teachers who are taking this to elementary schools and intend to teach this to children of parents who are Christian, or of other faiths or beliefs that completely contradict CRT, gender queer theory, and neo-Marxism. This is done intentionally to drive a wedge between children and parents so the next generation can rise up and throw off the “oppressor”
The problem with this mindset is that it divides the world up in a way that ignores history cultural context and common sense as well as human nature. For one Israelis are not the occupiers they are the indigenous people of the land we call Palestine. They have been there for 3500 years. This is the homeland of the Jews. The occupiers are those non-Jews who are in the land and are refugees and settlers from the Arab world. The Jews have had to deal with many occupiers over the years, The Persians, the Romans and the Ottoman Empire. There is no such thing as ethnic Palestinians. It has the same meaning as calling those who live in California being called Californians.
The Lack of historical education
We should not be surprised when children are not taught about World War II or the holocaust the genocide of 6 million Jews, or the communist revolution that killed 50 million people that they are easily swayed by the very propaganda that led to the slaughter of all these people in the last century. When they do not learn about Hitler’s Youth who marched through the streets and were radicalized by nazi ideology and turned against parents and religious leaders they are prone to follow in their footsteps.
Not only have we omitted to teach important history to our children but they have been exposed to a rewriting of our American history that paints the past with a broad negative brush such as with the 1619 project rather than a balanced approach that speaks honestly about both the negative and the positive.
When we teach history, we need to acknowledge that slavery and segregation were evils but we also need to celebrate the Civil Rights Act and overcoming discrimination. Otherwise, we dishonor the heroes of our past such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. Things are not the same as they were in the 50’s or the 70’s we have moved forward. But if we continue to allow this nonsense to be taught in our schools, we will produce a generation that has no hope for a better future.
Our education system is failing on a massive level not only by not preparing our students to be competitive in the global market but also by filling their minds with useless and harmful views that do not reflect reality making them anxious and afraid and placing them in a perpetual victim mindset rather than preparing them to reach for their dreams and hopes of a better future.
The false moral equivalence view
The view that all belief systems, religions, groups, or organizations are all equal or all have both good and bad actors is false. This is a case of people believing what they want to believe rather than accepting things as they are. For example, Israel and Hamas are not the same. Hamas is a terrorist organization that seeks the total elimination of the Jews. They do not accept and never have accepted the idea of a two-state solution. They do not believe the state of Israel has a right to exist. They teach their children to hate Jews. They use their people as human shields. They have no problem with involuntary martyrs to further their cause. On Oct 7th they committed genocide against innocent civilians and held little children as hostages.
Israel has done none of this. Before they attacked Gaza, they communicated through various means including leaflets dropped from planes into Gaza warning what was coming. They do not target civilians but civilians’ casualties will happen as they do in every war. Israel did not go into Gaza and rape or torture women or kidnap children. They brought incubators Into the hospital in Gaza for the babies. Those demanding a ceasefire and a two-state solution have no clue what they are talking about. Israel has bent over backward under international pressure to do what no other country has been asked to do during a war. When critics are confronted and asked what would they have Israel do. There is silence. They have been asked to do the impossible. How can you possibly avoid civilian casualties? War is a horrible thing. But when evil people take away your right to live in peace what are you to do?
Losing our religion
Where has common sense and critical thinking gone? Why can’t people who disagree with each other have conversations without going ballistic? Why is the American mind becoming so weak and malleable and disconnected from the reality of what is happening in the world? Western civilization and America itself were built upon a mindset that was heavily influenced by Christianity and the Bible.
Many of the freedoms which we enjoy, the ethic of hard work and resilience, and hope for the future did not come out of a vacuum. That, My friends, comes from a Christian worldview. Those who are so quick to dismiss the Bible and could care less about Christianity and are convinced the “patriarchy” must be overthrown do not realize that they are washing away the very firm foundation our society was built upon and they are replacing it with a sandy shifting foundation based in failed communist ideals of the last century. If we continue down this road it won’t be long before we see the destruction of our country. My hope and my prayer is that we are not too late.

Misinformation, propaganda, and unfortunately the lack of will to do any basic historical research leads to so many being not only uninformed but promoting hatred towards the sovereign nation of Israel. Here are some fast facts to help you get up to speed when discussing current and unfolding events in this part of the world. The easiest way is to present it in the form of a timeline. I will keep it as concise as possible. so here it goes
Israel is the historic home of the Jewish people. and has been for more than 3,000 years. Since the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D the Jewish people have been dispersed throughout the world until this past century. However, Jews have always continued to live in their homeland even when occupied by foreign entities such as the Romans or the Ottoman Empire. To go into detail about all the conflicts would take too much time so we will deal with a very brief description covering the past 100 years.
1917 After WWI the League of Nations, a precursor to the United Nations, was formed and declared the right of the nation of Israel to Exist. over the next 20 years, many Jews began to return to Israel from all over the world fulfilling the prophecy in Ezekiel of a regathering from the nations.
1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the establishment of a Jewish State
resolution 181 was a plan to portion out land for a Jewish state but also to allow arab settlers to stay in Palestine. keep in mind that the United Nations had no concern for the actual boundaries given to Israel by God according to the Bible.
1948 following WW2 on the heels of the holocaust in which at least 6 million Jews were exterminated by the Nazis the United Nations declared Israel’s right to exist Israel declared official statehood. immediately following this peaceful declaration they were attacked by 5 Arab nations Lebanon, Transjordan, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt. who disagreed with Israel’s right to exist. this went on until 1949 as a result the state of Israel ended up not only controlling the proposed area by the United Nations but also took control of Jaffe, Lydda, Ramie and Upper Galilee
1967-Six Day War-in this conflict a resurgence of issues from a 1956 conflict regarding the Suez Canal emerged. After aggressive Action by Egypt to close the Tiran Straits and after a number of other aggressive attacks Israel launched a preemptive strike against Syria and Egypt which dealt a decisive blow to their ability to carry out threats, especially by incapacitating Egypt’s air force. as the third major conflict came to a close Israel had gained more territory including the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, Old City of Jerusalem, and Golan Heights.
1973-after years of smaller conflict Egypt and Syria launched a major assault on Israel which went on until a cease-fire was signed in 1974 and the Sinai Peninsula was returned to Egypt. A peace agreement was signed between Egypt and Israel in 1979.
Over the past 50 years, Israel has had to endure attacks from neighboring Palestine (ancient Canaan) also known as the promised land in the Bible that God gave to the Israelites. this group known as the Palestinians has been represented by the PLO, the PLA, and since the 2006 elections Hamas, a terrorist organization dedicated to the full genocide of the Jewish people and the eradication of the Jewish state.
in this most recent conflict, Hamas did not go after military targets. Like ISIS they targeted civilians killing men women and children in the most gruesome manner and videoed it for all the world to see. This has left Israel with no choice but to respond in the strongest way possible to secure their safety.
Often much of the mainstream media only shows pictures of the Palestinian causalities and not what is happening to Israel. There is no excuse for what Hamas did and anyone claiming that Israel brought this on themselves is speaking in Ignorance. no other country would put up with as many incursions and attacks on their sovereignty as Israel has.
Who are the Palestinians? technically they are settlers and refugees from various arab speaking nations. But Palestine itself is not a country like Egypt or Syria. it is a territory. If we go back to the First World War we learn that this piece of land was ruled by the Ottoman Empire which fell. This land was conquered by the British who following World War 1 set a plan into motion to eventually recreate the state of Israel and call her people back home.
So-called Palestine has since become a front for Israel’s hostile neighbors to attack Israel. and so when Israel defends itself Hamas sells the narrative that Israel is creating a humanitarian crisis when all along it has been arab leaders and terrorist organizations that are in fact creating this crisis.
all Israel wanted in the first place was to come home and be at peace with her neighbors. Israel’s declaration of independence echos this
“THE STATE OF ISRAEL will be open for Jewish immigration and for the Ingathering of the Exiles; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice, and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
THE STATE OF ISRAEL is prepared to cooperate with the agencies and representatives of the United Nations in implementing the resolution of the General Assembly of the 29th November 1947, and will take steps to bring about the economic union of the whole of Eretz-Israel.
WE APPEAL to the United Nations to assist the Jewish people in the building-up of its State and to receive the State of Israel into the comity of nations.
WE APPEAL — in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months — to the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to preserve peace and participate in the upbuilding of the State on the basis of full and equal citizenship and due representation in all its provisional and permanent institutions.
WE EXTEND our hand to all neighbouring states and their peoples in an offer of peace and good neighbourliness, and appeal to them to establish bonds of cooperation and mutual help with the sovereign Jewish people settled in its own land. The State of Israel is prepared to do its share in a common effort for the advancement of the entire Middle East.
WE APPEAL to the Jewish people throughout the Diaspora to rally round the Jews of Eretz-Israel in the tasks of immigration and upbuilding and to stand by them in the great struggle for the realization of the age-old dream — the redemption of Israel.”

Lord Jesus, we thank you for watching over us and being our light in the darkness.
We pray that on this day You would place upon the hearts of your people and those who do not yet acknowledge you to vote for those who will uphold righteousness and justice in the land.
We pray for the godly men and women who have answered the call to serve in civil government and for those who support our values to be a voice for the voiceless, those who are unborn.
We pray they would uphold the constitution as our founders intended and protect us from unjust legislation that would seek to take away the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and parental rights, and promote sexual immorality among our children.
We pray they would be a guiding light for common sense policies that would protect our economy, our borders and our people from violent crime as well as lead us away from unnecessary international conflicts
We pray for the integrity of our elections and that you would move upon the hearts of those who believe in you to make their voice heard and vote.
We pray that there would be an awakening among the nation and that your light would expose what is in the darkness, that the lies that are being told by those who desire to hold power would be laid bare for all to see. And that righteousness and Justice would be upheld in the land.
O Lord, we put our trust in you. Only you can restore us. Be our guiding light and our hope Today.

When it comes to understanding politics I realize that many people feel overwhelmed, and disappointed and would rather avoid it altogether. However, it is still an important part of our lives. Who we vote to represent us affects the economy, taxes, the price of food and gas, health policies, and how free we remain as a people. The Bible was written during the time of the Monarchs which of course is very different from what we have today. So there is much debate about how involved Christians should be in the political arena. For me it is simple. Jesus said that we are the light of the world and I am pretty sure he wouldn’t have said: “except for politics”. We just have to know that our trust is ultimately in Jesus Christ and to let him guide us in that area as well. So how do we decide who we vote for?
Know the Platform of the party you vote forOne of the falsehoods that we are led to believe is that we vote for the person, not the party. This is entrenched in many minds because we hear it repeated often and it sounds genuine. But when you live in a state that only has one party really holding all the power and nothing seems to change you really need to ask yourself if that is true. What you may not realize is that each party has its own platform which clearly states the ideals and goals of that political party. For your convenience, I have attached links at the bottom of this post so you can read for yourself what each party considers their priorities. I would highly encourage you to read the Resolutions. Even the ones that go back a few years. This will give you a clear-eyed view of just exactly where their values lie.
My opinion, they both use words like freedom but one party seems to value religious freedom and protecting children from exposure to inappropriate sexual infromation while the other party seems antagonistic towards religious freedom and intent on exposing our children to all kinds of sexual subjects. To be fair that isn’t the whole of each of the platforms. They speak of environmental concerns and other things. Sure, I have strong opinions as a pastor but I want you to read for yourself and do the work so that when you go vote it is with eyes wide open. Click the Links and read them for yourselves. You decide.
If a particular party champions freedom of speech and thought and freedom of religion then you might have room for candidates that vary in secondary positions. However, if the party that you choose has a collectivist mindset where every candidate is expected to think the same and where freedom of speech and thought and religion is not only not highly valued but suppressed then can you really say that you are voting for the person and not the party?
looking past the “Word Salads”Politics is known for being a place where people are skilled at using a lot of words without really saying anything. In our past there have truly been masters of the art, However, we are living in a time where there isn’t as much patience for that kind of rhetoric. Our culture has definitely shifted to where politicians are saying the quiet part outloud and there is no putting that genie back in the bottle. Its here to stay. With that being said it is still important to act civil. Straight talk doesn’t need to be profane or crass. just simple and civil. So when you watch the local debates take notice of those who use many words to skirt around the issue. I have more respect for people that just answer the question. The word Salad person either doesn’t know what they are talking about or they are trying to appeal to a very wide base. They would be better off picking a target and use a laser beam focus with straight talk. We don’t want word Salads we want solid meat positions and values that we can understand clearly and get behind.. So first pick the party that reflects your values the most and then look for the candidates within that party that brings out some solid positions that you can sink your teeth into

This morning I awoke to some good news for those of us who believe in the sanctity of life. The landmark case that ushered in a culture of death, devalued the life of the unborn, and also devalued motherhood has been overturned. This gives the power back to the states to decide on abortion laws. Make no mistake this battle is not over. However, it no longer enshrines abortion, the killing of an unborn child, as a federal constitutionally protected right.
Not everyone is going to be happy about this decision. In fact, we can expect to hear outrage and lies about abortion flooding the mainstream news media. For those of us who follow Jesus, this should not surprise us. The Apostle Paul warned us about what humanity without God looks like.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Today our country is at a crossroads. Many Christian prayer warriors may soon realize an incredible victory in the fight for life, namely, Roe V Wade which in 1973 took control of abortion restrictions away from the states and encouraged a new era of permissiveness in regards to using abortion as a means of birth control. Contrary to much of the fear-mongering and propaganda that we are seeing this decision by the high court will not outlaw abortion nationally. However, it is a victory against a culture of death and destruction.
While we praise God for any victories we have much to pray for in our nation and around the globe. Would you join me as we intercede in prayer?
Father God,
We are so thankful, most of all for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to save us from sin and destruction. We thank you for our families, for your church for this state and the nation where we have the privilege of being able to worship you freely and openly without fear. We humble ourselves and ask your forgiveness for our sins and the sins of our nation against a Holy and righteous God.
We pray for the Military, Police, and First Responders who place themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe. Please give them the strength they need this day.
We pray for our Families that you protect them from the enemy’s influence in school, media, and the workplace. That you give parents the knowledge and the courage to stand strong against the tide of teaching that is counter to your word and those who seek to corrupt the minds of our children.
We pray for our churches and spiritual leaders for wisdom and discernment in these times. Let us not be caught up in false teaching or hollow and deceptive philosophies of the day but remain faithful to teaching your Word.
We pray for our government leaders from the president and leaders of our nation all the way down to our local representatives that you would open their eyes to the truth. We pray for Godly men and women to rise up all over this nation and be willing to serve in public office, restore law and order, and promote righteousness in the land.
We pray for the wars and conflicts, especially in Ukraine, that there would be an end in sight. that the bloodshed would stop and peace might prevail.
Most of all Lord we pray that many more would open their hearts to you and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who has died for our sins and rose again from the dead that we might have power over sin and receive eternal life.
We know that in the end you are a sovereign God who controls the events that we see. We put our trust in you pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus
