Pro in Practice is a podcast for independent therapists working in private practice spoken by Daniel Woods, the Founder of PT Kids: Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy.
Started as a way to keep in touch with the growing team at PT Kids, Pro in Practice is now popular with other practice owners too.
Pro in Practice will give you all the personal development tools you need to maximise your skills in the world of private health care and develop a strong & positive mindset that will accelerate your therapy career.
This will be of particular interest to those professionals who work with children and specialise in paediatrics. This is what we are passionate about!
Pro in Practice is our way of showing that we are committed to developing our team personally as well as professionally because we strongly believe that personal improvement is one of your greatest tools on the pathway to professional improvement.

Episode 10 is recorded as part of one of our Team PT Kids CPD Sessions and asks the team to debate the big questions:
What is more important with regards to getting the best therapeutic outcomes:
Quality of input or quality of movement
Quantity of input or functional movement
We argue the merits of each side and then discuss the points raised as a team before taking a vote on which side of the argument we support.
I'm sure you're first thoughts are......surely it's quality and there is no debate, we'll listen in.
Would you stop a client from performing an independent or functional activity because of the quality of their movement?
Is normal movement or normal development a good measuring tool for our neurodiverse clients?
Tell us you thoughts on social media via @proinpractice on FB/Twitter and Insta!
Pro in practice is aimed to get you thinking about your own clinical practice and to develop your mindset to help you become the best therapist that you can be!
Episode Nine is recorded as part of one of our Team PT Kids CPD Sessions and asks the team to debate:
Who leads goal setting? We pitted Therapist Lead Goal Setting vs. Parent (and child) Led Goal Setting
Arguing the merits of each side and then discussing the points raised as a team before having a vote to see which side of the argument we support.
Which do you support? Let us know via social media @ProinPractice
Episode Eight is where PT Kids Live transforms into Pro in Practice! Rebranded & Relaunched for 2021!
In this episode we recognise that 2020 was a very different year......but different is OK! We tell you why.
In independent practice we earn our income differently, on output, and that is OK too!
Dan will very openly share with you the impact of 2020 on his income as a full-time self employed physiotherapist - this only includes the income from client facing work at an associates rate to make it comparable to if you were an associate of PT Kids!
If Dan can do it....so can you!
With all of the above taken into account, we whole heartedly believe that independent practice is the place to be last year, this year and in the future!
You're in the right room.
If you're interested in taking your career in a different direction in 2021 please contact us on office@ptkids.co.uk
