We sat to analyze the Poem Blind With Eyes Open by one of the original members of Love Calling Evangelical Repertory Theater. The conversation comes many years after performing "Be Healed", the very first full length production of Love Calling. The work is a compilation of dialogue and poetry which depicts the state of many of us as we work towards and achieve a level of professional success only to find ourselves bereft of fulfillment and peace. An invitation to Be Healed of the void left when we fail to move forward with out Faith in God leading us . It was a wonderful work created by Cokie Fisher copyright Circa 1982 Janice Genovia. Permission to use any of the poetry quoted in this conversations must be obtained from Janice Genovia, Love Calling Evangelical Repertory Theater, A ministry of Rehoboth Institute of the Arts at pel.riota3@gmail.com
Saturday September 5, I received word that our elder, friend, Soldier for justice and Redeemed of the Lord, Rev. Gil Caldwell entered the eternal presence of our God. I extend my sympathies to his family and pray for their comfort and peace from the Lord that passes all understanding. When our work is finished, we too will rest. In the words of the old hymn
I'm going where the wicked shall cease from troubling and the weary shall be at rest.
And all of the saints of the ages are going to sit at his feet and be blessed.
And as it is stated in the Revelation of Jesus Christ 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
How were we so blessed to have him talk with us in the very last month of his life. To share from his wellspring of experience and wisdom. I pray that in some way, We conveyed to him our sincere gratitude. I thank God for allowing me to know Rev. Caldwell. I shall forever cherish the gift God gave us in this earthen vessel - Reverend Gilbert Caldwell.
A Conversation with Dr. Betsy L. McNeil
Bumping Into Purpose and fulfillment as we follow Christ is inevitable, as the life of Dr. B.L. McNeil reveals.
A Conversation with Rev. Gilbert Caldwell
Conversations in Creative Evangelism
It is written:
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us
Rev. Caldwell is a living vessel whose treasure exudes the excellency of the power of God. His life is a valuable insert into the history of African American's quest for equality and justice in this country. Please listen. Because he called in by phone, his voice recorded low. Please increase your volume so that you hear all that he shares with us. His perspective and experience informs our understanding of the present as we once again, find ourselves standing for justice. It is the prayer of Rehoboth Institute that Rev. Caldwell will have more conversations with us. He is one who has paid a price with his life to work towards justice and order in the United States. If you want to contribute to the work of Rev. Caldwell, please don't hesitate to let us know. All donations will go toward publishing an account of his experiences in the Civil Rights Movement along side Dr. Martin Luther King. Please share your comments with us, and share with the people you know.

Jan and I talk shop. Every artist has a process which unlocks the message held within. If we are in Christ and are driven by our relationship with Him, we probably spend a lot of time in prayer before or we just obey the voice of and leading of the Holy Spirit. sometimes the work delivers us from challenges we face or have faced. Other times the message is to the masses. Either way, God is speaking. Even if the message brings the artist to understanding or deliverance, the testimony is like a ripple in the stream, and others who hear it can be delivered also. I pray this conversation speak to you and helps you unlock the gifts God has given you to lift up the name of Jesus so that others are drawn to him.
