I’m sure by now you’ve heard people give you the advice to ‘put your blinders on and run your own race’...but in today’s show, I want to do a deeper dive into this topic.

I’ll share some signs to be on the lookout for that you’re going off course and how to self-correct. I’ll also share a few strategies you can implement to make certain you keep your eyes on your own paper sort of speak in order to make the progress you want and need and get the results you set for yourself and your business. Most of the information I cover in this episode relates specifically to things you may encounter while building or expanding your business online.

Oh and today I have a little story to share with you of course...let’s get started

Welcome to Episode #39 Of The Pursuit of Online Entrepreneurship

A FEW SIGNS YOU’RE GOING OFF COURSE

  • You check other people’s social media first thing
  • You listen to multiple people with different training styles
  • Starting to feel anxious and overwhelmed
  • Check yourself: are you easily influenced by others’ opinions
  • Do other peoples #wins or #success stories make you feel bad about your own progress
  • Do you compare yourself, the stage of your business to others who may be in a similar industry to yours?

If you have these tendencies, you’re likely to lose your voice, lose your focus, lose your direction and start wondering, floundering and veering off course which will

  • Rob you of joy, fulfillment, accomplishment
  • Sets you back both in progress but your mindset as well
  • Keep you from making the necessary progress
  • Generating the results you set out to when you set your goals

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO SELF CORRECT AND GET BACK ON TRACK (we go much deeper into each of the tips below in the actual episode)

  • Stop consuming other people’s content (we do a deeper dive into this tip in the episode)
  • Stop looking at what other people are doing, what they’re working on and why

If you’re not achieving the level of success you set out to, I’d like you to take a closer look at your own actions and determine if you need to self-correct to get back on course.

RECAP:

  • What information triggers you
  • Who triggers you and why
  • What can you do to set yourself up for success
  • Have more self-awareness and adopt better habits

Be sure to tune in next week when I’ll have an update of what’s coming up with the Podcast and the business.

Are you running your own race? I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website www.veronicasagastume.com/episode39 and share with me, what tips can you share with us to run your own race?

“If I knew then what I know now”

...it’s always so much easier to look back and think that isn’t it?.

Today’s episode is all about sharing some of my favorite and most relevant tips I wish I knew back in the day and I often share with others today.

It’s easy to look back and think of all the things you could have or should have done differently or better. But here’s the thing, we actually learn more when we make mistakes or when we run into challenges.

We come up with ways to work through those tough times, we learn more about ourselves, what we’re capable of and we learn a ton that not only benefits us, and our business, but we can also be of greater service by sharing with our audience and our clients how to navigate these choppy waters of entrepreneurship.

I have a long history of running businesses. My degree is in accounting and I spent 20 years in Corporate America as an accounting, finance and operations executive. Specializing in helping start-up companies in Silicon Valley get started and prepare them for aggressive and massive growth.

Besides that, I also started my own consulting practice back at the end of 2010 and my business was to be the CFO for hire for start-up companies, so I know a thing or two about starting, running and growing businesses of all sizes and at all different stages with different needs and challenges.

But even with all my experience, when I decided to expand into the online space, it required a lot of learning, testing, trying, failing and trying again. This whole pursuit of online entrepreneurship has been one big, long and exciting lesson after another. It’s a ride, and I for one, love roller coasters, I hope you do too.

Today I want to go over 10 business tips I believe you need to keep in mind, remember or know about in order to achieve success in the online space. As you pursue online entrepreneurship you may feel like ‘been there, done that’, especially if you’ve started a successful business before.

I ask that you keep an open mind and just hear me out as I go over my top 10 tips...the list could be longer, but we’ll just go over my top 10.

Ready? Ok, here we go...In this episode, we’ll go over

10 BUSINESS TIPS FOR SUCCESS EVERY ONLINE ENTREPRENEUR NEEDS TO HEAR

  1. Get comfortable being uncomfortable with everything you don’t know
  2. Set it up right to start with - what am I talking about? Your business!
  3. Don’t create what YOU want, create what your audience wants & needs
  4. It will NEVER be the right time, ever, so START today
  5. You DON’T have competition, run your own race!
  6. It takes time to build a successful business, there are zero shortcuts.
  7. You get to build the business YOU want, it’s yours.
  8. Don’t run out of money, make a plan.
  9. You’ll need help, don’t try to do it alone.
  10. KEEP TAKING ACTION

Is this list familiar to you? Did you hear something new or remind you of a piece of advice you had forgotten? I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website http://veronicasagastume.com/episode37 and tell me which of the 10 tips spoke to you the most at this time in your business?

Wait before you go, I have a few things to ask you:

  1. Have you subscribed my Podcast yet? You can do so wherever you listen to my podcast and you’ll never miss a weekly episode because it’ll be automatically downloaded to your app.

Remember to show up and take imperfect action, because taking imperfect action may be so much better than never taking any action at all because you’re waiting for just the right time. Have you ever found yourself overcommitting yourself to the point you're totally upset at....YOURSELF!. I know I have, especially last year. When you're first starting out in business, you tend to feel like you have to say yes to every opportunity that comes your way.

However, when your business starts to gain momentum, grow and gain a reputation, you find yourself (at least I did), in a position where you may feel like you have to say YES to every opportunity that comes your way.

WHAT WE’LL COVER IN THIS EPISODE:

  • What happens when you say YES to everything
  • A common trait of really successful people
  • ARE YOU A PEOPLE PLEASER WHO HAS A HARD TIME SAYING NO?
  • WHAT KEEPS YOU FROM SAYING NO
  • HOW WILL YOU FEEL about that person, event or yourself if you keep saying yes?
  • WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOU START SAYING NO

What have you said yes to that you really didn’t want to DO and what did it keep you from or take away from?

If you reframe saying NO, I bet saying no will come easier to you.

I’m excited to hear about what you’ll start saying NO to first to make room for your more important YES.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s episode. I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website www.veronicasagastume.com/episode34 and let me know, What will you say NO to this week? Passive Income is NOT Passive The definition of “passive income” isn’t creating and selling something that requires no work. Passive Income is doing the most difficult work now, upfront to reap the benefits later.

Look, no matter what method you choose to make money especially while running and scaling an online business, you’re always going to need three things:

  1. A product
  2. An audience And
  3. A method(platform) to promote and sell your product to your audience

Last week in episode #32 I defined what is a Digital Product and I gave you a ton of ideas of what you could create to then promote and sell Digital Service Products. I’ll be sure to link to that episode in the show notes.

While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to make money online, I want to make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons, not just the money. The main source of success from people who made money is to find solutions to problems and be helpful, provide value to an audience who needs what you have to offer.

Passive income starts with what product will you create but then I urge you not to start selling. You have to be strategic with how you show up online in order to start building your passive income empire.

This is where your marketing plan comes into play. While creating the product you’ll want to promote and sell is a priority, you need to create a marketing plan to promote and sell the products you create.

By the way, when I say products, I’m primarily referring to Digital Service Products I’ve encouraged you to create and sell in other podcast episodes. Another episode you may want to check out is Podcast Episode #11 where I shared with you 5 Digital Product Ideas to consider creating to start building your Passive Income.

Remember, in the online space, people buy from people they trust. Trust is built based on relationships and relationships take time. Building a passive income revenue stream will take time but it builds momentum, it’s scalable, be patient, but also be persistent, focused and oh yeah, did I mention be patient.

I’m excited to hear about what you’ll do first.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s episode and your head is full of ideas. I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website www.veronicasagastume.com/episode33 and let me know, are you going to build a passive stream of income? Wait, before you go...have you subscribed my Podcast in iTunes? WHAT IS A DIGITAL PRODUCT?

Digital products are something I’ve been creating for quite a few years now. There are so many different types that I thought I’d create a short episode dedicated to describing what IS a digital product.

In this episode, I want to bring some definition to the term Digital Product and because it seems like everyone is talking about digital products these days so… I’d like to focus on what we service based providers refer to as digital products ok.

Simply put: The term “digital products” refers to information products usually offered online in a digital format. Not an actual physical product, but a digital one that can be delivered via the Internet.

The reason I call them Digital Service Products is because I teach other consultants and service-based business owners how to take services you already offer your 1:1 client, or use as a resource for yourself and create digital products from it.

SOME BENEFITS OF DIGITAL PRODUCTS:

  • Creating a digital product is a great way to monetize of your time, knowledge, experience and effort.
  • You only create it once (you can offer updates when there are some) and it can be sold to many like hundreds, thousands or more...without no limit. (This ensures a certain level of profitability).
  • You can add a significant stream of passive income with digital products and
  • You can create an entire online business around selling digital products

If you’re thinking of creating a digital product and marketing it, then you are definitely on an innovative pathway to success. It’s just how much you want to reap the benefits and the time you are willing to put in.

Digital Products can be created or as a resource, you can create and offer to your audience for free. If you REFER TO podcast episode #11, I do a deeper dive on 5 DIGITAL PRODUCT IDEAS TO SELL ONLINE I also recently released an episode to share ideas to make money online without starting a business which I’ll link to in the show notes as well.

This will give you more ideas as well as a list of resources where you can create and sell these digital service products...go to episode #30.

LET’S DO A QUICK RECAP In this episode we talked about:

  • What is a Digital Product
  • I reviewed a list of potential digital products
  • Potential for passive income

If you’re a service based business owner and have been thinking of ways to grow your revenue, then creating a line of digital service products you could offer your clients, may be just the thing.

Keep an open mind and start brainstorming on what you already know that you could create and offer to your existing or future clients.

I hope you got a lot of today’s episode. I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website www.veronicasagastume.com/episode32 and let me know, which digital service product grabs your attention first? In today’s episode, we’re talking about one of the core keys to build a successful business online...connecting and relationship building...ONLINE.

Having been in the online space now since late 2015 I believe that one of the biggest misconceptions with starting an online business is that you’ll reach success FAST simply because your business is online. Are there exceptions? Of course, there are and what also impacts this misconception is HOW you define as success.

Could you start a business, show up online and start to generate income within months? Yes, that is possible for sure and there are many factors that could impact this exception...like the size of your audience, what’s your offer, what you consider to be successful.

While many of what you read, hear, learn and implement may lead you to a shorter successful outcome...I’d like to speak to the more realistic outcome. I believe that if you know what to expect, what you’re working towards, then you’ll be better equipped for the journey that’s ahead of you. Simply put, building a successful business can take time, sometimes months, sometimes years, but you CAN absolutely build a successful business.

Look, you may disagree with me and that’s ok, but I feel it’s my responsibility to share a perspective that paints a different picture than the Instagram feed that leads you to believe you can show up online on Monday, make an offer on Tuesday and hit 6 figures by Friday.

One of the biggest reasons building a successful online business can take months or even years is because there’s no way to consistently make a profit without building a genuine connection to human beings, also known as your audience. Grow your audience? Grow your business!.

A conversation builds trust before you ever ask for anything.

How do you define “perfectionist”?

Do you see yourself as one?

Lots of entrepreneurs get bitten by the perfectionism bug. We do everything we can to grow our businesses, and yet, we trip ourselves up over the tiniest details. We keep ourselves from progressing forward if everything isn’t just right . . . And let’s be real: Nothing is EVER just right. So we idle. We put projects on the backburner, and we feel super bummed out when we don’t meet our own ridiculously high expectations.

As a recovering perfectionist, I know firsthand the damage this kind of attitude can have on an online business. I also understand where the desire to be perfect comes from—we’re putting our precious work out there online for everyone to see! The internet is forever! It has to look professional!

Do these excuses sound familiar? Don’t be embarrassed, I’ve made them too. But if I’ve learned one thing in my years as an online entrepreneur, it’s this:

DONE is better than PERFECT.

So today, I’m talking to you about my experiences with perfectionism, pointing out the harm you may not even realize your perfectionism is causing, and of course, teaching you how to EMBRACE your imperfections and get the heck out of your own way.

I’m on a mission to leave perfectionism in the dust, keep my own business on the up and up, and help others grow their businesses, too, along the way. Care to join me?

In today's episode we discuss the following:

  • What Does Perfectionism Look Like?
  • Taking pride in your “perfectionism.”
  • Setting unrealistic expectations for yourself.
  • You’re terrified of failing.
  • Getting defensive when you feel inadequate.
  • Your self-esteem is directly proportional to how “successful” you feel.
  • You’re a procrastinator.
  • You think of yourself as a “high achiever.”

One of the most harmful myths out there about perfectionists is that “perfectionist” is a synonym for “high achiever.” Sorry if this rubs you the wrong way, but that’s not true! See, high achievers are people who push themselves to do great things. Like perfectionists, they value success. But UNLIKE perfectionists, high achievers see the value in the journey. They enjoy making mistakes because it means they’re learning and growing. They use imperfect experiences to fuel themselves and climb to new heights. Perfectionists, on the other hand, get bogged down by their shortcomings and almost always end up achieving less than your typical high achievers because we get in our own way.

Do you recognize any of these traits in yourself?

If you do, don’t worry. I’ve been exactly where you are. For brevity’s sake, I’ll leave it at that, but be sure to listen to the full podcast episode for the scoop on how I realized I was facing a perfectionism problem in my business and what I did to overcome my perfectionism.

So What Can You Do About It?

Look—this isn’t going to be easy or comfortable, but nothing worthwhile is. I broke out of my perfectionism cycle, and today, we’re going to break you out of yours too.

LISTEN TO THE FULL EPISODE FOR MY GO-TO STRATEGIES FOR BEATING PERFECTIONISM & ADOPTING A HEALTHIER ATTITUDE:

  • Embrace Progress & Push Forward.

  • Ignore the Haters.

  • Take Imperfect Action.

  • Enjoy the Journey!

  • Reflect on How Far You’ve Come.

WRAP UP

Today’s episode is a little different. I typically cover very tactical step by step type of episodes, but today we’re getting personal.

I launched my Podcast back in August of 2018 and have experienced a lot, learned a lot and had a few wonderful surprises. With all the ups, there were also a few mistakes and realizations that I chose to see as learning opportunities.

WHAT I COVER IN TODAY'S EPISODE:

  • Why I started this Podcast
  • What impact I thought a Podcast would have on my business
  • What has actually happened
  • Why I took a 2-month break from creating or publishing episodes
  • A few mistakes I made I’d like you to help you avoid
  • What’s next? What you can expect from the Podcast in the future

Let's talk about driving traffic to your core content - Also known as Content Distribution.

With all the original content you create, you’re most likely only sharing it once or in only one social media platform, therefore, not giving your audience enough opportunities to see your valuable original content.

Which means, you’re focusing on creating your content but aren’t focusing enough on content distribution. With so much content available online these days, you need to make sure you’re doing everything you possibly can, to get your content seen...share your message - repeatedly - in all the right places.

In the past few episodes, we’ve talked a lot about content creation, best practices, tips, and strategies to repurpose that content. But today, I want to focus on making sure your valuable message gets seen by your audience.

You spend time creating your original content, your primary focus is to help your audience with your message, so while we’ve talked a lot about the different types of content to create, and the different mediums to create it in, now, we want to have a strategy for your content distribution.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN ABOUT:

  • 80/20 RULE TO KEEP IN MIND
  • LEVERAGE YOUR ORIGINAL CONTENT
    • Drive traffic to your core piece of content to extend the life of your content and give your audience the opportunity to absorb your message
  • 10 PLACES TO SHARE YOUR ORIGINAL PIECE OF CONTENT - I’ll go over how this may look in your own online business.
    • Your Website Blog
    • Your Facebook Business Page
    • Yours & Other Facebook Groups
    • Your Instagram
    • Instagram Stories / IGTV
    • Linked In
    • Pinterest
    • YouTube
    • Your Email List
    • Guest Blogging

Of course, there are many more places where you can share your content. This is just a starting list. You have to take into consideration where your ideal client hangs out and focus on sharing your content in those places.

If you’re worried about sounding repetitive using this strategy, DON'T. You get new followers all the time that won’t have heard or read your original content. And for those that have, you can simply remind them of the topic.

How does that sound?

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN…I hope you got a lot of today’s topic and can see the opportunity for extending the life of your original content. I know this strategy alone has been a game changer for me.

I'd love to hear from you - head on over to my website WWW.VERONICASAGASTUME.COM/EPISODE26 scroll all the way down and leave me a comment...What is your first piece of original content you’ll be focusing to drive all traffic to? Wait, before you go...have you subscribed my Podcast in iTunes? Repurposing Your Original Content Today is all about repurposing your content to make it work for you! You’re gonna want to grab a pen and paper or sit down at your computer to take some notes because I’m about to drop some value bombs!

Think about it this way: Each piece of original content can result in three, five, 10, 20 or more pieces of content to either share your message on different platforms or extend the life of your original content.

MY 3 R’S: REVISIT, REPHRASE, REPURPOSE: 1. Revisit: Look back at what you have with a plan to move forward. 2. Rephrase: Rephrase original content to refresh it. 3. Repurpose: Extend the life of your content—don’t reinvent the wheel.

I’ve been using this system for over three years. Like I said earlier, I used to call it “Upcycle and Recycle.”

If you’re feeling confused about how to do this with your own content, take a deep breath! I’m here to help. In this episode, I walk you through my step-by-step process to implement The 3 R’s for my own content, and how you can adopt the system as well.

And I have a freebie for you as well...a ONE-page framework or blueprint to maximizing your content repurpose strategy.

What’s The Difference Between Free and Paid Content? Question: What grows your online business faster than anything else?

Answer: Share your knowledge and expertise through the different social media platforms you use to show up in, and especially those your Ideal Client is in.

Whether you focus on ONE platform to start with such as Facebook or various platforms such as you blog, Youtube videos, weekly FB Live Show or a Podcast, in each of these platforms you’re showing up as an expert and sharing valuable information that showcases your expertise for FREE.

It’s a constant balance to decide how much FREE valuable content you give your audience. We have to give our audience enough FREE content for them to feel like we’ve helped them and they feel supported enough to want to continue in their journey with us. Versus giving them so much FREE content that our audience feels like they have everything they need from us for now, where they believe they don’t need our paid service offers.

The main question we want to focus on today is how do you know where to draw the line or set a limit between your free and paid content? A question that often comes up is “Am I giving away to much for free”? And “What is the difference between Free vs Paid content”?

That’s what we’ll be talking about in today’s episode.

  • My three MAIN differences between free and paid content
  • PLUS a few examples of how I do this in my online business with different types of platforms such as prerecorded video, facebook lives and a podcast.

YOUR TURN:

I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode, I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website www.veronicasagastume.com/episode22 and let me know what type of valuable FREE content will you create and where will you share it?? How to stand out as an EXPERT and authority in Facebook Groups and get the best results out of them.

So maybe you feel like you have a decent idea of how to interact in Facebook Groups at this point…But how the heck do YOU STAND OUT as the expert, and authority you are in the first place?

Like everything else I share with you, you HAVE to have a strategy when it comes to showing up and not only ttracting, but connecting with your audience…the right audience in the Facebook groups you’ve researched, joined and now want to be part of.

If your intention is to grow your online business, or to grow your business ONLINE, then it’s time to really get intentional about it. That’s what we’re talking about in today’s episode.

In the past few episodes, we’ve talked about reasons why you should join FB Groups in episode #16, The types of FB groups you should consider joining episode #17 and how to search for these groups to join in episode #18…and before I forget, I also covered How to make a GREAT first impression when you show up in those facebook groups in episode #12…I’ll link to those episodes in the show notes ok.

Today we continue with our podcast mini series about How Facebook Groups can play a critical role in growing your business online.

I want to give you some best practices to stand out as an expert, an authority in your industry, when you show up in Facebook Groups to get the best results out of them – as soon as you join the community.

You may have heard some of these tips before, but I promise you, they work.

  1. YOU NEED TO BE CONSISTENT (with frequency & message)

  2. CREATE AND SHARE ORIGINAL CONTENT (what is this?)

  3. SHOW UP FOR YOUR FANS, YOUR AUDIENCE, YOUR FUTURE CLEINTS (show up for the right reasons)

  4. START AND CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION – (be and stay curious)

Get to know the members of the community…

Here are some ways you can engage and ways to be curious about your community:

  • LIKE OTHER POSTS
  • GIVE THOUGHTFUL RESPONSES TO POSTS
  • REPLY TO ALL COMMENTS LEFT ON YOUR OWN POSTS.
  • HELP OTHERS TO CELEBRATE
  • LEND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE COULD USE IT
  • PARTICIPATE IN FUN POSTS TO LET OTHERS GET TO KNOW YOU AND OF COURSE
  • DON’T FORGET ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO START ENGAGING, INTRODUCE YOURSELF…I SHARED A LOT MORE DETAILS ABOUT HOW TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN NEW FB GROUPS OR TO RE-INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN FB GROUPS YOU’VE BEEN A MEMBER IN FOR A WHILE…GO TO EPISODE #12.
  • REMEMBER THAT EACH TIME YOU RESPOND TO A COMMENT, IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO SHARE YOUR VOICE, YOUR MESSAGE, START AND CONTINUE A CONVERSATION, BE THOUGHTFUL WITH YOUR REPLIES OK.

Yes, it takes work, in the beginning it will take a little more time, but you’ll get the hang of it and then it will become second nature.

This level of quality engagement will help accelerate your know, like and trust factor which is key to building your online relationships which will ultimately convert to paying clients.

BONUS: Showing up consistently in your newly joined FB Group Communities, sharing original content, and connecting with your audience, WILL Catapult Your Online Visibility, SO GET READY FOR THAT LITTLE SIDE EFFECT.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN… I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode, I’d love to hear from you. Go to the comments section of my shownotes www.veronicasagastume.com/episode19 and let me know which one of these tips resonated with you the most? Have FB Groups been working for you? If you’d like to connect to targeted groups of people, and be more visible on Facebook to network with your potential clients and customers, then you’ll love today’s episode... because today, we’re talking about how to find the right groups to join, guidelines to follow to join the RIGHT groups and how to keep your research organized to have an endless supply or resources where your clients are at.

There’s a strategy to searching for FB Groups that are relevant to your purpose, industry, focus and where your clients may be.

I’m going to walk you through HOW TO SEARCH FOR FB GROUPS WHERE YOUR IDEAL CLIENT are, how to Use the FB Search Bar, the importance of Keywords, the difference between public and closed groups as well as some guidelines the group must have for you to join and much more.

But Before You Start Researching Which Group To Join

Let me share a few things with you, as of the recording of this podcast episode, FB allows each one of us to join up to 6,000 Facebook groups, but of course, that number is just to high. As we go through the steps of researching & organizing your research, I’ll give you some guidelines that will keep you sane, while also ensuring you have a access to a long list of groups where your clients may be in.

Before you join a group, I’d like you to think about a few things to help you make sure the group or groups you join, are a good fit for you and for your business.

I’d like to recommend you come up with your criteria, that way, as you begin to research the groups, it’ll be a lot easier and faster for you to know which to join and ‘test out’.

Let’s start by coming up with some key criteria elements for you to follow: for more detailed show notes www.veronicasagastume.com/episode18

  • CLOSED VS PUBLIC GROUPS: there are actually two types of groups that will show up in your search to choose from: Public and Closed,

  • SIZE OF GROUP: here’s where I’d say, size does matter and size isn’t everything...Don’t get sucked in by huge group numbers when you consider which ones you’ll join.

  • KEYWORDS/PHRASES: Make a List of Keywords based on industry, focus.

The next criteria element I’d like you to pay attention to is the group description.

  • GROUP DESCRIPTION: You’re looking for FB Groups with a strong, clear description of the type of community you’d like to join
  • GROUP RULES: You're looking for strong rules (sign of a great community)
  • TRACK DON’T DECIDE: You’re in Research stage don’t select top 5 yet; just document

Which leads us to organizing your research for today and the future

Track your research data in a google spreadsheet (to prioritize):

Fields your google spreadsheet should have:

  • Number
  • Name of FB Group
  • URL of FB Group
  • Copy & Paste Group Description
  • Summarize group rules
  • Promo allowed?
  • Date requested to join

Keep in mind, Some criteria won’t be visible until you join the group. Have a guideline once you join so that you can determine if the group you just joined is a good fit or not..it’s perfectly ok to determine a group is not for you!

GUIDELINES ONCE YOU’VE JOINED THE GROUP

  • Are members active
  • Does the Group leader show up?
  • How is the vibe of the group? Upbeat, helpful, inspiring, or whiny, negative, complaining?
  • Can you review posts and comments and determine if you can 1) add value and 2) answer questions?

If you join and find the group isn’t for you, don’t feel bad if you leave right away.

I’ve also got a great resource for you

GO TO THE SHOW NOTES ON MY WEBSITE TO Watch The Short Video For A Step-by-Step How To Search For FB Groups

PRO TIPS:

Start off by joining 3 - 5 groups (from your research list). While you can join as many Facebook groups as you would like, it’s difficult to actively participate in too many. So start out small.

Keep track of your groups. At first, it was hard to keep track of the Promo Days because they’re all on different days of the week. So, this is another reason that I put together the comprehensive spreadsheet of the groups that I think are the most awesome for business owners and bloggers. I also include their size, host name(s), focus area, URL, and Promo Days, and Social Share Days.

When you join a Facebook group, please be a good participant and contribute. You will get the best results by adding value to the community.

I’ll dedicate a future podcast episode on this topic alone.

Also,

When you follow these tips and participate in Facebook groups regularly, you’ll be amazed at how quickly things can happen in your business.

Not only will you get leads and clients, but – if you show up regularly – you’ll be asked to form strategic partnerships, get referrals, be invited to speak on podcasts and Facebook live interviews, and much more!

I’ve also got a great resource for you to have access to, go to the show notes and there I’ve shared a 9 minute video with you, walking you through how to search for FB Groups.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN... I’d love to hear from you. Head on over to my website

There’s definitely a strategy to joining the right FB Groups, the ones that can truly make an impact on your business. I’ve personally observed that it’s best to join groups where the host shows up often and there’s an active engaged community.

But, before we get to deep into why you should join these groups, let’s first go over the different types of FB Groups you should consider joining and why each type could be important in your business.

In episode #16, I went over 9 Reasons why you should consider joining a FB Group as part of your business growth strategy.

But in today’s episode, we’ll talk about the different types of FB Groups there are, and how each type can help your business.

There are 5 types of Facebook groups I recommend joining to grow your business: (don’t gasp just yet, you don’t have to join all of them at once, it happens organically as you need them).

Alright, let me quickly review the 5 FB Groups and then we’ll get into more details for each one.

  1. The FIRST type of FB Group to join: where your ideal clients are
  2. Next we have the FB Group where other entrepreneurs from different types of industries / with different experiences, hang out
  3. The THIRD Groups you should join is your peers/associates from the same industry are in
  4. Next, I recommend joining the type of software that comes with software / Resource you use to run your business and
  5. Lastly if you invest in a course, program, or digital product that may include a FB Group Community, I highly recommend you join that group.

While that may seem like a lot, I’m not suggesting you join all of them at once nor am I suggesting you actively show up in each of them every day...let me explain, because I promise you, they each play a specific role in your business life.

I dive a lot deeper into each type of FB Group and the benefits of each.

In today’s episode I’ll share with you how joining Facebook groups can help you accelerate the growth of your business with many more side effects that catapult your online visibility.

Let me confirm something you may have already heard...Facebook groups WILL grow your business

If you’re thinking about or have already been leveraging Facebook to grow your business and build your email list, then there’s a good chance you’re already a member of one or more Facebook groups.

I’ve personally started leveraging Facebook groups for the past 3 years and I can tell you, they are a fantastic source of information, support and clients.

I never thought I’d say this but I love them. (loved them so much so that I started my own FB Group in April of 2016...)

I want to share with you 9 REASONS you should consider joining Facebook Groups as part of your Business Growth and Business Profitability strategy...Ok, here we go.

FACEBOOK GROUPS ARE...

  1. An excellent way to CONNECT with your fans, and ideal audience
  2. Where YOU can SHOWCASE your knowledge, authority, expertise in your zone of genius.
  3. Facebook groups give you direct, INSTANT ACCESS to connect with your potential customers or followers and start building meaningful relationships.
  4. They are a fantastic way to SHARE your message, your stories, case studies, show your training style to build the all important Know Like & Trust factors.
    1. Just be sure to connect, add value and build relationships first
    2. Don’t just show up on promo days
  5. Not all FB allow PROMOTIONS but the once that do...They are a great way to promote your EVENTS, products or services...your call to action..
  6. When done right and with a strategy, these Facebook groups you ENGAGE IN will help you grow your traffic, increase your email list, and grow your revenue.
  7. A side BONUS I found, was that members of the FB Groups I was showing up in, were other entrepreneurs I could network with...that’s something I did not anticipate but have also leveraged in my own business growth strategy
  8. SUPPORT & COMMUNITY...beyond the initial intention of connecting with your clients, FACEBOOK Groups allow you to interact with other business owners, to brainstorm, celebrate our wins, talk through moments of frustration, get support, give feedback, and the best surprise, make friends.

FINDING CLIENTS: The last thing I can tell you is that yes, you can find and get new clients through these FB Groups which ultimately help to grow your business and revenue...

So as you can see, we’ve got a lot more to talk about when it comes to Facebook groups as part of your online business growth strategy.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN... Let me know what has your experience been with Facebook groups? Have you found your peeps? Have they led to more clients? Business?

Based on what I just shared with you in this episode, out of the 9 reasons you should consider Facebook Groups to be part of your business growth strategy, which ONE resonated with you the most?

Before we go, have you subscribed to my podcast yet? It takes less than a minute and future episodes will be automatically downloaded so you won’t miss any future episodes.

AND REMEMBER, imperfect action is always better than waiting until it’s perfect and never starting at all.

I thank you for showing up for me, for yourself, and for your business.

A few weeks ago I attended and was a Keynote speaker at a conference in San Francisco. The late afternoon session was a panel discussion and the conversation included talking about your personal brand...in this room, that meant, your reputation.

That got me thinking about how we show up online and how we’re constantly representing our business and ourselves. I totally agree that our reputation, the way we show up, how we speak, how we look, the message that we share, the value we add, it’s all about representing our brand which in turn means, WE ARE ALWAYS SELLING ….OURSELVES!. That’s right, I said it, we’re selling ourselves. Especially if you’re an online service provider, YOU, Me, the person behind the business, we are the SALESMAN selling our service, our program, out course, etc.

In this episode, I share a different way you can start thinking about your role as a SALESPERSON and embrace it instead of dreading it.

I hope this episode will inspire you to take action on one or more of these strategies to accelerate the growth of your ONLINE business and start to LOVE selling your products and services. Go be of service and provide value!

If you’re ever feeling a little stuck or maybe even a bit bored with what you’re doing in your business, chances are it may be time to shake things up, try something new and strategize on ways to grow your personal brand (your business). That’s exactly how I was feeling earlier this year and in today’s episode, I’ll share with you the different strategies I decided to start trying, testing and ultimately decide which I’ll keep, and which i’ll let go of.

Before you can start to strategize about what new methods and tactics you’ll be testing in your business, it’s important to look at what’s going on in your current business model. What’s working, what is still generating results, have the results hit a plateau? Then also look at what may be feeling a little boring or a little stuck to you.

Below is a summary list of the different strategies I’ve been testing and tracking to grow my ONLINE business to the next level.

Listen to the Podcast to get more details behind each of my strategies.

  • Podcast - Launched Aug ‘18

  • Weekly FB Live Show: on my FB Business Page - Launched May ‘18

  • Blog - Hosted on My Website - Launched 2018

I believe that a combination of these strategies will be a great way to explode my business. These strategies allow me to expose my brand and my business to a lot more people as well as reach my existing audience in a new platform to build and strengthen my relationships.

I hope this episode will inspire you to take action on one or more of these strategies to accelerate the growth of your ONLINE business.

Often times WE are our worse bully.  We would never put up with a ‘so called friend’ who says the types of things to us that we allow our inner critic to say to us.  So what would you say to a friend who is mean, says hurtful things, rattles your confidence right before a big moment in your life or belittles a huge milestone you’ve just achieved?...I’m guessing she would not be around very long and would not be a close friend….so why are you allowing that bully in your head to have any say in your life?.

I’d like to share 5 ways you can exercise silencing your inner critic.  These are all techniques I’ve used myself for my own critic as well as guided my clients to the exercises of quieting their negative self-talk.

I’ll be sharing FOUR common characteristics of how our inner critics sound. Typically, not all 4 show up at once, but a least a couple of them could. See if you Recognize YOUR inner critic. It’s important to know these different inner critic voices, because when you’re clear on what YOUR critic sounds like, you can identify yours when it speaks up – and separate yourself from its voice.
