Doc Severinsen, Shires Artist Recorded at the Hyatt Regency downtown Miami during the ITG conference on July 11, 2019 Forget that he’s 92 years old, Doc held court in the Shires room at ITG all week long. Doc is the real deal and is as enthusiastic about trumpet as he’s ever been. We also talked about his new CD which is a compilation of lost recordings from the mid 80’s. In talking about a certain track Doc had to pause and prepare himself to talk about it. I’ve never seen him so tenderhearted and vulnerable as he was during this part of the interview.
