The Exile Podcast was born out of a need for faithful community within those of us who have scattered outside the traditional structure of faith. Gathering together various voices and approaches to holy texts, The Exile Podcast is the meeting place for open minds and seeking hearts of the wanderers in wild and holy places.
Listen, nobody looks great in the late 1920s. Nobody, but Zelda. Sorry? Nope. We're going to camp out with some specific ideas from where we left off in episode 2 and speed through the Great Depression and the Second World War. Fret not: we are speeding thru in hopes that we will soon be able to spend more time in some specifics of these rich historical periods ... eventually.
Gonna speed through time at 150 years an hour and gloss over the Civil War, the First World War and the early 1920s in the life of American Christianity. Don't worry, everyone looks great.
There aren't enough of us who know the full story of American Christianity... so let's nip that in the bud. Because when we know better, we do better.
