Women in STEM Part 1 Nicole Bizet joins Andres to discuss going from a student to engineer.
Guest Bio: Nicole is 26 years old and she was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. At the age of 22, she moved with her parents and sister to the U.S. Nicole started her college studies at the age of 18 in Venezuela, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) Degree. Prior to completing her degree, she moved to the U.S. Being halfway done with her credits, Nicole had to transfer all her school work to continue pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree. She enrolled at the University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL) where two and a half years later, she obtained her BSIE. During her time at UCF, Nicole had great professional opportunities that allowed her to develop her industrial engineering skills, and to discover how passionate she is for the manufacturing world. While at UCF, she worked at the engineering manufacturing lab, volunteered with a nonprofit dedicated to building 3D
Andres is joined by Eric Whitney to discuss studying one thing and now working in another,
Eric Whitney has been working in the defense contracting industry since 2014 on multiple teams and projects. Eric started his career as a member of the Product Support Integrated Product Team (IPT) conducting forecasts, spares planning, and operations and support planning utilizing modeling and simulation tools and practices. Eric has since progressed to his current role as a member of the Systems Engineering Team IPT supporting Risk Issue and Opportunity, Design to Cost, and Life Cycle Cost analysis. Eric currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Flagler College and is working towards his Masters of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Eric will discuss his experience in working in a field that he didn’t study.
Brianne C. Martin joins Andres to discuss the importance of building relationships.
Guest Bio: Brianne C. Martin is an Engineer turned Entrepreneur, a singer, a speaker and a STEM and Diversity advocate. The majority of her time is spent giving back to the community and pouring herself into the wonders of a passionate life and helping others. She's recently launched her startup BCM Engineered Solutions to put her career of being 'The People Engineer ™' into a practice to help organizations improve their bottom line, cultivate an innovative, effective, efficient environment, and create sustainability through processes, procedures, and training. Self-improvement and leadership have been instilled in Brianne her entire life and qualities that she strives to help improve in anyone and everyone she meets. Ms. Martin regularly leads leadership, professional development, and emotional intelligence workshops for nonprofits, schools, and leaders.
