A podcast 11 years in the making, Anthony and Steven from the “Two Gomers Run For Their Lives” podcast take on a new mission: to curate a list of perfect movies and make your world a little more delightful. They went from couch to marathon, and now they’re making their way back to the couch again. Returning to their pop-culture roots, the Two Gomers will bring a movie they love to “trial” each week, presenting evidence that attempts to prove why that movie is, in fact, perfect. Who You Gomer Call? It’s spooky season, and we take a break from only doing movies with the word “October” in the title in October and actually do a movie with some scares. Sure it’s a sci-fi comedy, but those arms that come out of the chair and drag Sigourney Weaver across the floor, totally crumpling up that rug? Come on. Don’t be frightened, Nation, we are here to hold your hand through this one. Just don’t think about a giant marshmallow man crushing a city and you’ll be ok.

It’s back-to-school season, and the Gomers wanted to put a movie on trial set in High School. And honestly, what’s better than 2004’s Napoleon Dynamite? Weird, quirky, silly, and absolutely unique (until everyone copied it), it was pure joy to put this movie on trial.

Re Mi Do Do Sol

It’s a thing as rare as spice melange when the Gomers call their shot and put a brand new movie on the Perfect Movie main feed. But their combined love for the first one, the stellar cast, the land- and sound-scapes, and the fact that Denis Villeneuve has yet to let them down made Dune Part Two a safe bet. Did it pay off? As always, you’ll be the judge of that. And if not, hopefully Steven’s parody song mid-ep will be worth the price of admission.

This is a pivot, but not that far: it’s our first Sandler, and we’ve decided to cover his second movie, a personal favorite of both Gomers. We talk 90-minute 90s comedies, the proper balance between jokes and plot, Anthony’s golden jacket epiphany, and probably too much Billy Madison since that’s what we pivoted away from. Also, Steven laughs for five minutes straight trying to explain Chubs Peterson’s long arm.
