This is episode 110 of the Church Venture Northwest podcast. We’re finishing up Women’s Camp 2014: “Dancing on the Battlefield.” This is Breakout 2 “Who in the World Are You?” from Pam Teschner.
Who In the World Are You?
Who are you and what are you meant to be in the world? What’s your true soul identity? Do you feel defined by your past or your current world of demands and responsibilities? God knows your true identity and named you. He wants you to know who you are and become who He designed you to be. He longs to ignite your heart with His vision for you. You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow. Isaiah 62:2b
Pam Teschner, Ph.D. is Corban University’s Associate Provost for Academics. She is a retreat speaker and captivating story teller. Pam has written two devotional books; In the Company of God and A Heart made for God. She has a gift of bringing God’s story of love and redemption to life through vivid word pictures in both her writing and speaking. Pam also plays bass in the vocal band, Heirborne. She has taught in the public schools and in higher education, has been an at-home mom, and has held a variety of positions in the state of Oregon. She loves to carve out time to spend in God’s creation inside a kayak and capture His artistry with pencil and watercolors.
This is episode 109 of the Church Venture Northwest podcast. We’re continuing Women’s Camp 2014: “Dancing on the Battlefield.” This is Breakout 1 “Sacred Mundane: Let Your Days Transform Your Life” from Kari Patterson.
Sacred Mundane: Let your days transform your life
The most powerful catalyst for true transformation has become almost completely ignored; overlooked or shooed away like a pesky inconvenience on the supposed road to spiritual change. The secret to true transformation isn’t something to go find but someone to let in. Life change takes place when you let Jesus into your ordinary, embracing the sacred mundane, learning to let your days transform your life. Like Naaman, we will find healing when we choose to dip down deep into the dailiness of life we often despise. Kari Patterson’s Sacred Mundane workshop will equip you, through a practical 6-step process, to dip down deep into your days and let the ordinary transform you into glory.
Kari Patterson juggles the hats of church-planting wife, home school mom, conference speaker, Bible study teacher, writer, blogger, friend, and daughter–-usually dropping them all on her crumb-covered floor. (It’s ok, really.)
Kari holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Women’s Ministry from Multnomah Biblical Seminary, and has a passion to see women transformed by encountering God in the ordinary details of life. On her blog, Sacred Mundane, she writes the raw and the real–-sometimes triumphant, always transparent–-the daily venture of living the sacred in the midst of the mundane. (www.karipatterson.com)
This is episode 108 of the Church Venture Northwest podcast. We’re continuing Women’s Camp 2014: “Dancing on the Battlefield” with Sheri Rose Shepherd. This is Session 3 from Saturday night.
As women, we work so hard at transforming our lives. How often have we found ourselves reading articles about the new diet or exercise routine, the new super food we should be eating, the new financial-help program, the new self-help book, the new guide to understanding your relationship with your husband or children? The root of all these struggles comes down to our heart battles. Let’s face it, in this battlefield we call life, we are all searching for truth and freedom. Through the grace of God, we search no more because we are transformed through Jesus Christ. We no longer need to mourn and toil over this battlefield. Instead, we get to dance and rejoice with gladness. Through Christ, we can take our appointed positions and live out our lives with purpose and joy. Please join us for this year’s Women’s Camp where we get to dance on the battlefield, be transformed, and learn how to finish strong!
Sheri Rose Shepherd will share a powerful message that gives women of all ages a renewed passion to persevere and a new joy for life. Sheri Rose uses God’s Word as scriptural dance lessons to help us dance our way through disappointment, detours, and difficult life circumstances. Through real life stories and a good dose of humor, Sheri Rose’s message gives us hope, healing, and a heavenly perspective. She will teach us to live life with laughter as we learn to embrace life’s battles with an eternal perspective. Discover the meaning of true freedom and the keys to finishing strong.
Sheri Rose Shepherd is a woman who can relate to almost any woman’s battle. This former Mrs. United States grew up in a dysfunctional home and was severely overweight as a teen. As a young woman, she battled depression and an eating disorder. She understands the pain that comes from a broken home and she knows what it means to fight for freedom from your past.
In spite of an English teacher telling her she was “born to lose” and a learning disorder—Dyslexia—Sheri Rose has (in God’s strength) become a Best Selling Author with more than One Million books sold, and her latest book won the 2010 Retailer’s Choice Non-Fiction Book of the Year.
Sheri Rose has been speaking at churches and women’s retreats for 20 years. She has a very refreshing way of bringing the Word of God to life. She knows how to renew the Eternal Hope in our hearts. Her speaking style is humorous, heartwarming and inspires everyone to make their life count for eternity. She loves speaking at women’s retreats of any size and currently is on the Women of Joy Tour with: Kay Arthur, Karen Kingsbury, Lysa TerKeurst, Shaunti Feldhahn, Thelma Wells, and artists Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns and Brandon Heath.
This is episode 107 of the Church Venture Northwest podcast. We’re continuing Women’s Camp 2014: “Dancing on the Battlefield” with Sheri Rose Shepherd. This is Session 2 from Saturday morning.
