What is the standard of righteousness? Who decides what is right?
In a world saturated with injustice, corruption, and moral compromise, there is something deeply stabilising about this truth: the God we worship is never crooked, never partial, never wrong. He doesn't measure up to a moral standard above Him. He is the standard.
In this message Daniel Grace walks through Deuteronomy 32 and Joel Beeke's seven ways God expresses His righteousness through His justice:

His laws — an outflow of His character, not an external burden

His covenantal faithfulness — from Genesis to Revelation, He always does what He says

His ordering of society — God cares about justice in every deal, every relationship, every invoice

His punishment of sin — the perfect Judge, the perfect standard, perfect knowledge

His salvation of sinners — how can a just God declare the unrighteous righteous? Romans 3 answers it
-
His discipline of His children — painful, purposeful, never cruel

His glory — the ultimate end of everything He does
The gospel is where all of this meets. Christ provided what justice required. His righteousness is credited to us. Justice and mercy don't conflict — they met at the cross.
"It's the perfect judge, measuring against the perfect standard, with perfect and immutable omniscience — and because of Christ, when that gavel falls, it falls on our behalf."
Mark 2:1-12 emphasises that Jesus has the authority to forgive sins, revealing his divine identity. The faith of the man’s friends, who went to great lengths to bring him to Jesus, is held up as a model of persistent, loving intercession. Their actions lead to both physical healing and, more importantly, the forgiveness of sins, showing that our deepest need is spiritual, and that only Jesus, the Son of Man, can meet it.
Jesus’ early ministry marks the arrival of God’s kingdom on earth — a decisive moment in history where the true King breaks through enemy lines with unmatched authority. Through his spiritual victory over Satan, power over evil and disease, cleansing of the unclean, and urgent call to discipleship, Jesus reveals that the kingdom of God has come near. His authority demands a wholehearted, immediate response, as he alone has the power to defeat darkness, restore what is broken, and call people into his eternal kingdom.
Mark's Gospel presents Jesus as the promised Messiah and divine King, whose coming demands a clear and active response. John the Baptist prepares the way by calling people to repentance and humility, modelling a life oriented entirely toward Christ rather than self. Jesus’ baptism reveals his loving identification with sinners, his divine identity affirmed by the Father and the Spirit. Consequently, believers today are called to genuine repentance, joyful identification with Christ through baptism, and confident living rooted in God's love and delight in them through Jesus.
Jesus alone holds the ultimate authority to fulfil God’s redemptive plan. While humanity and all of creation are unable to fix the world's brokenness or meet God’s perfect standards, Jesus is the only one worthy to open the scroll and bring about God's salvation and justice. His authority is unique and exclusive, and in response to this, we are called to repent and immediately trust in His sovereign rule over our lives, acknowledging that He alone is capable of bringing restoration to a fallen world.

What does it mean to be an example of a Christian man, or a Christian woman? Paul shows Titus in today's passage.
Paul shows Titus the results of letting worldly culture into the church, and the kinds of people who will do it. They stand in contrast to the elders Paul introduces in the previous verses... instead they're like anti-elders; who have a devastating effect on the faith of the church if their teaching is left unchallenged.
There are an estimated 56 Million abortions carried out each year... if what is being terminated is a little human child, then this is the greatest issue in the world today. Listen to hear what the Bible says about the unborn, how we can support mothers and expectant mothers, and why each person has intrinsic value; having been made by God in the image of God.

Does it actually matter what you believe? Can't we just love God and love others, and let that be it? In his first letter, John tells us that it DOES matter when it comes to who you say Jesus is; even calling people who proclaim a different Jesus 'anti-christs'. So, how do we know we're loving God? In his first letter, John shows us that because of what Jesus has done, our sins are forgiven, we know God as our loving father, and we have overcome the evil one! He also writes about the tactics used by the evil one to draw our focus and affection away from God, and onto the things of the world. John writes that his readers should 'walk in the same way' Jesus walked, and that our obedience to the Father doesn't lead to our salvation, but rather shows that we have already been saved by Him.
So, how did Jesus walk? Jesus knew & loved the Father; trusted Him, and His love and trust outworked in Jesus’ perfect obedience.

Intimacy - we were made for it, but we often miss out on life-giving intimate relationships when we reduce intimacy to being all about sex. When the Holy Spirit was promised, the Old Testament prophet Joel said it would come with young men & women speaking prophetically, and young & old having visions and dreams. Your words are very significant - we see this throughout scripture; but Solomon takes specific aim in Ecclesiastes at how you use your words - for building up, for tearing down... for exercising wisdom, or embracing foolishness. This week John Harris opens up Ecclesiastes to show us how to live a life of satisfaction - as this series continues to parade our idols in front of us; showing how each one lacks - but true contentment for people made for eternity, can only be found in eternal things. If fulfilment came through seeking pleasure in experiences, purchases, sex, control, success, and relationships, we'd have a lot more satisfied people walking around! In Ecclesiastes, Solomon warns against looking to these things as the source of pleasure; and shows us how they can be freely enjoyed when we're already fully satisfied in the joy of the Lord. In this message, Don shows us that because we submit to God, women can be fearless in the face of difficult circumstances, and men need to honour their wives. 100% of people surveyed said they'd either heard or used the phrase 'everything happens for a reason'... usually said when there's been some sort of tragedy or disappointing circumstance; and we want to comfort the sufferer - by giving the difficult situation some sort of meaning or significance - if it happened for a reason, then it's not wasted, or at least means it wasn't all for nothing.
But is this a Christian response? What does the Bible say, and why is the truth so much better?!

'Be like me' - in our culture, this seems like an arrogant, even jerky thing to say, but Paul say is our passage this week. In this message, Don looks at what Paul means by this, and why we should also be people who say this to others.

The second most chosen answer to our question 'what are Christians wrong about?' was 'Traditional Gender Roles/Women Submitting to Men'. In this message, Pastor Don looks at what the Bible actually says about gender roles; should women submit to men, how does equality work in the Church, and what role Christians have played in promoting equality & rights for women right from the birth of the Church.
With 45 million abortions performed every year across the world, if what is being destroyed in that action is a human, abortion would be a larger killer than the top 10 causes of death all combined. So, we need to know, when does a human become a human? What's happening when an abortion is performed? And how can Christians support those considering what to do with an unwanted pregnancy, those who've previously had an abortion, and those raising an unexpected child?
Don takes a look at why people think the Church is full of Hypocrites; the validity of that claim, and what we can do about it!
