What happens when we don’t find acceptance/love/self-worth the way God intended for us to find it? What happens when we immerse ourselves in becoming the best at a sport to receive these things and then that very thing becomes our idol?
What happens when control becomes the idol we bow down to? How does control become an idol and what implications does it have on us/family/everything when we give it god-like attributes?
What happens when we bow down to our idols? What happens when we continue to look to them to fill a void that only God can fill? Is God really big enough to deliver us from this idol worship? Is God really powerful enough to redeem the implications of years of bowing down to a false god?
Is it possible to make a person an idol? Is it possible to love someone so much that we begin to give them God-like attributes desiring something from them that they cannot fulfill? The Bible seems to teach us that this is exactly what can happen. A perfect example...Jacob and Leah.
Money is a powerful thing. We like to say, money talks. Money gets others¹ attention. Money romances you for your love. Money is never satisfied.Money wants immediate gratification. Money wants to be your life. And in some cases, it takes your life.
The fear of man can be a very destructive idol in our lives. It can shape the way we vote, what we wear, what we say, and can literally silence us when we need to speak up for what is right. Will we be a person that fears what others think? Or ultimately what God thinks?
God tested Abraham's heart to find out who he loved most supremely...Him or Isaac. Could Abraham sacrifice the one thing that he loved the very most? The son that completed him. What are the "Isaacs" in our lives/hearts? What or whom do we love the most...God or our idols?
What is an idol? Why did God warn people a long time ago that “they had set idols up in their hearts which ultimately made them fall into sin”. What does that look for us today? Does this warning still apply to us? Through this series we will answer those questions and discover what idols are AND what our idols are.

An Unending Story...When we truly embrace the Spirit of Christ vs. the Spirit of Christmas, we see a story that continues long after the presents, the parties, and the celebrations. We experience a life that will not perish, but have ever-lasting, never-ending life.
A Story of Love...To really understand Christmas as a love story, we need to understand the love between the Father and Son. Or at least attempt to understand, for this is a love that is deeper, closer, and a oneness than any of us has ever had with anybody.
What do you think of when you hear the word justice? For God, justice is more than people paying for their crimes, to him its all about meeting the needs of the poor, oppressed, and the afflicted.
As we Unwrap Christmas this year and read the story from a different perspective, we see other stories begin to emerge. This week we see as story of war emerge that had started at the beginning of time. A war that began in the garden of Eden
As we begin to live out of our God created identities...that is we are becoming The Me That I Want To Be...it greatly impacts those around us. We begin to see the world the way Jesus sees the world. Our hearts are impacted to engage the world with his love.
What will keep us from truly living out of our God created identities? What keeps us locked up and entangled influencing us to continue to live out of these false versions that we have created for ourselves? What truly happens when we grasp the truth and begin to allow His Spirit to live in and through us?
As we commit to becoming God’s best version of ourselves, how does our relationships play a role in that. Can our relationships actually help us to become that best version. As we look to God’s Word to answer those questions, we see some characteristics that definitely play a vital role in that process
Peter warns us "...For a man is a slave of anything that has conquered him." As we strive to "be the best version of ourselves", we need to daily examine our lives to ensure that a counterfeit version has not conquered us. As we commit and surrender our lives to God's control we then begin to experience freedom and abundant life.
This week we continue our series, "The Me I Want To Be" by looking at what it means to renew our minds. What if we wash our minds with this one truth that you are completely loved by God. Listen and allow God to transform the way you think.

Everybody knows that you're not supposed to go around trying to convert people to your faith, right? Wrong! Jesus doesn't say make converts. He says make disciples.
