The Casual looks towards reviewing these forgotten relics, and bringing them into public eye. Your host Nate Villegas along with a colourful batch of guests tackle each review with a conversation bringing in history, politics, and banter to make a full rounded analysis of each film.
We may not be film experts, but we can sure keep it Casual ...
After a long hiatus (Funny enough this episode was recored in May) ... The Casual is back and more opinionated than ever !!
Celebrating its fifth episode Nate along with a rag tag group of critics debate the superiority of two popular films from the 1970s. Both Dirty Harry (1972) and Death Wish (1974) have it all ! From the great castings of Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson respectively, to their thrilling gun fights, to their "satisfying" form of Justice; both films are splendid in their own little way.
But which is better ? Tune in to find out as Michael takes the cut throat offence, Bismarck lawfully lays down scholarly insights, Nate dodges the tough answers, and Doug "sternly but fairly" sits there in dutiful silence.
With such an epic stand off.. No one was let unscathed !!!

Episode 4.5 of The Casual is a double feature that has the show reviewing two album's from two "MUSICAL BEASTS" !
Both acts Lissie and Lucius have demonstrated that beyond the realms of top 40 radio, the indie movement in music these past couple of years has released some amazing acts that often go under the radar. The albums My Wild West by Lissie and Good Grief by Lucius are the latest albums by both these groups, which bring to life two different narratives. One demonstrates the boldness of rethinking your life as a whole, and "finding your 40 acres in the sun." While the other plots out the trails and tribulations of life on the road, and the pressures of not "Goin' Insane" when grief comes knocking on your door.
Tune in as myself and my co-host for this episode Doug (with a guest appearance from my dog) dissect both of these great albums all the while at times "fan boying", and bringing to light our wonderful memories we've had with these groups during the Edmonton Folk Festival.

While this film has been both ridiculed by some, and praised by others who give this film a cult following Hawk Jones has been buried into the deep dark caves of obscurity; until now..
