The cross is brutal. It’s difficult to look at, difficult to understand, and difficult to sit with. And yet, Jesus gave us communion to bring us back to it, to remember the seriousness of sin and the incredible cost of our salvation.
In this message, we look at the crucifixion of Jesus through the lens of the Passover lamb and the significance of the fact that none of His bones were broken. What happened at the cross was not an accident or simply the result of human decisions. Jesus willingly gave His life on our behalf, bearing our sins so that we could be forgiven and reconciled to God.
As we come to the communion table, we are reminded of two realities: "our sin is serious, but our salvation is significant." Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him—and that joy was the salvation of people like us.

This week at Cibolo Creek Community Church, we walked through the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 and explored what it means to worship in the middle of struggle. Through scripture, personal stories, and moments of worship together, we were reminded that worship is not about our emotions — it’s about God’s authority.

Continuing our conversation about worship, this week Jordan Sleed, our worship pastor, turned to Exodus 34 and the story of Moses coming down from Mount Sinai radiant after meeting with the Lord.

Much of life is about finding balance, even between two things that are both good or helpful. Followers of Jesus are invited to abide in Him - to grow in our relationship with Him. As a result, our lives will start to "bear the fruit" of being with Jesus. But how do we balance the two? When do we abide and when do we bear fruit? Jesus' encounter with Mary and Martha has insight into these questions.

In this message, we look at Jesus' encounter with Matthew (Levi). As a tax collector, Matthew was an unlikely candidate to be a disciple of Jesus; However, we may be more like Matthew than we realize - A sinner, called to repentance.
Looking at Jesus' encounter with Nicodemus, we learn that sometimes, we can be too smart for our own good. When it comes to following Jesus, we will have to humble ourselves and admit that we might not be the smartest person in the room.

This series has been all about having a relationship with Jesus - what it looks like and how to do it. In this message, Paul explains that how being in relationship with Jesus also means that we learn to live within the designs that God has established for the different areas of our life.
We continue our discussion over how we relate to God. What does a relationship with God look like? How do we begin to take a step towards a relationship with someone we can't see, hear, or speak with?
How does a relationship with God look like - how does it work? Churches are great at telling people they need a relationship with God and they often tell us things we need to do in order to have a relationship with God; But, not many Christians talk about what this actually looks like. In this message, Paul begins a discussion to do just that.
Truth is, having a relationship with Jesus is different than our other relationships. It can seem mysterious and at times it can be very challenging. If this is true, then it might mean that the practices in which we grow in our relationship with Jesus may also be different, mysterious, and, at times, challenging. In this message, we begin to explore what those practices are.
Discipleship can be described in many ways, but it essentially means to live your life following Jesus. So, what does following Jesus entail? Well, here at Cibolo Creek we have narrowed it down to three main ideas: being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did. In this message, Joe Tepe introduces this concept and emphasizes, that when we choose to follow Jesus, it's important to begin with the end in mind.

We continue our discussion of God's Kingdom by celebrating the birth of the King - Jesus Christ. There are many different conclusions that people have come to regarding the story of Jesus's birth, his identity, and his significance. At the end of the day, however, the only conclusion that matters is yours. So, what do you say about Jesus? Is he your King?
What is God's will and how is it carried our in God's Kingdom? In Part 1 of this series, we discussed the Kingdom of God. To help us do this, we examined the Lord's Prayer (Matt. 6:9-13): "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come". We all want to have a positive impact on the world. We all want to make a difference. We all want to make the world better for the generations to come. Many of us, however, don't feel like that's what we are doing. Some people feel like their jobs are meaningless, some simply don't know how to have a positive impact, and some don't believe they even have the ability to make one.
No matter what your current circumstances are or what you believe about yourself, you DO have the ability to positively impact the next generation. In the final message of this series, "Pay It Forward", Paul discusses the need of young people to have individuals like you to take interest and invest in their lives. In doing so, you work towards having a Legacy that is worthwhile.
When we think about discipling the next generation, we often consider this the role of a parents; While this is the main responsibility of parents, we are all called to intentionally invest, mentor, and disciple the young people in our lives and in our church.
