Energy is delivered to the body through not only the foods and liquids that we consume but also from etheric matter. In Indian terminology, our body has also an invisible body known as Pranamayokosha, and Prana (energy) is distributed from the outer world to the physical body through this energy body. When Prana energy is flowing and glowing, we feel positive and healthy. When Prana is subdued, we can feel negative and sick. We can also reverse this energy externally as well.

In this episode, I speak with Peter Paul Parker, a meditation coach, Ki Gong instructor, and sound healer. After an out-of-body experience on the road as a rock musician,
he found out there was something outside of the physical realm. That brought him to meditation and further into the world of Ki Gong, the ancient art of mastering the energy flow.

Here we talk about;
- Who is Peter Paul Parker
- How did he get into meditation and Ki Gong
- What is Ki Gong
- How he thinks the energy flow can change the human consciousness
- What are his views on changing the world we have today

Technology was supposed to bring us together but somehow it has divided us. We have traded in convenience for human connection. We can do every daily activity while staying in the comforts of our house. Shopping can be done on Amazon, food delivery on Food Panda, exercise on Peleton or gym apps, calls on Zoom, etc. Our opinions can even be canceled on social media. Even though we aren't actually isolated, jobless, or friendless, why are we becoming more lonely?

In this episode, Peng Fong, a 20-year veteran journalist and podcast host of Alone Together, discusses the culprits of making us lonely in this world where we are not necessarily alone, and how we can bring ourselves out of our shells in order to feel connected again.

Here we discuss;
- Why she started the Alone Together Podcast
- Addressing loneliness
- Technology's tradeoff of convenience
- Parental hacks for children
- Accepting and being curious about opposing opinions
- Using technology to bring us together

Peg Fong has been writing for the Vancouver Sun, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, CBC, South China Morning Post, and The Economist. She also teaches Journalism at Langara College in Vancouver.

Religions create conflict all around the world. However, was religion really created so that it polarizes people? Doesn't all religions teach us how to love each other and seek a peaceful world? Did it also say, as long as it's between religious members? I don't really think so. If it did, was it the original intention, or was it because the teaching became a doctrine to organize people?

In this week's episode, I invited Jerry Zehr, the author of The Peacemaker's Path: Multifaith Reflections to Deepen Your Spirituality. We talk about how we have to look at similarities, not differences between religions to reduce conflict in this world. The old teachings of each religion do not ask us to hate each other but to look for the divine within ourselves, that can love oneself and others to create peace and harmony among us. Our tribalistic nature and power hunger have created walls between us, and we must break through them by understanding that we are all the same.

Here's what we discuss;
- Walking the Enlightened Path
- Why religious conflicts exist and how to overcome them
- Repair by loving oneself
- Kharma is universal
- Human connection creates happiness

Jerry is an ordained minister and has been a leader in Interfaith ministries for over 30 years. His desire is to help bring shalom to our world today. His book The Peacemaker's Path explores six core teachings in the Major World Religions that can bring unity and healing to our polarized society.

Nihilism is permeating in Western Societies but it's starting to spread across the world. Distrust in politics, economy, financial markets, science, and perhaps even technology. It isn't just the bifurcation of ideology but the classification of people, failed monetary policies, diversion from value to price, and widespread misinformation and propaganda. Has everything lost its meaning and value?

In this episode, we bring back Jim Mosquera from Episode #24 Reflections on Freedom, to talk about why there's nihilism in pretty much everything we see today and the way out of it. Perhaps we are at the end of the era of Pax Americana and heading towards the Dark Ages. However, we discuss there is a way to mitigate this situation.

Here's what we talk about in this episode,
- Decimation of religion debased morality
- Digitisation of society weakens the physical social fabric
- Categorisation of people widens gaps in society
- Ambiguity created by relying on science
- Decentralisation is about localizing

Jim is a founder of Alliance University that provides a marketplace of knowledge that is dedicated to empowering people to create an objective and fair society.

Have we exhausted our efforts to bring about world peace? We have slowly evolved to have better ethics and principles throughout history. However, does the timeline to cure this world in line with our speed of progress? We only advance in a linear manner.

In this episode, I speak with Wajid Hassan, the author of "The Struggle for World Sanity". He speaks from the view of the Aetherius Society, which sheds a thought provoking perspective of how we can bring about peace and unity. We have tried many methods to make us come together but perhaps it'll help if we had a different approach. He speaks to us about extraterrestrial species that can travel to Earth offering a way to bring sanity to our world.

It coincides with the US government admitting to UFO's existence so maybe the idea is not so "alien" to us anymore.

Here's what's you'll learn from this episode;
- Who is Wajid Hassan
- What is "The Struggle for World Sanity" about
- Why is nihilism pervasive in the world today
- The truth about the UFOs the US government talks about

Cryptocurrency is in the spotlight for the seemingly lucrative trade opportunities but there's the almost forgotten aspect of why Bitcoin came about. Trading is for the ones who have a certain level of wealth. What about the others who are left out in the economic activities that we all enjoy and benefit from? Crypto was invented for everyone, and in my view especially for the ones that have no access to traditional finance, the unbanked and underbanked.

In this episode, I speak with Taynaah Reis, the CEO of Moeda Seeds Bank from Brazil. She not only set out the blockchain-based mobile bank but stepped it up further to provide education for finance and business building. They have a marketplace where these people can launch their products via e-commerce. Their projects are being tokenized, and NFTs are minted.

Here is what you will learn in this episode,
- Who is Taynaah Reis
- What is Moeda Seeds Bank and its mission
- Why isn't providing financial services isn't enough
- What the underlying socio-economic problem that needs to be solved
- Her advice for people coming into this industry

Discovering the fountain of youth has been the millennia-old dream of humans. We have seen it in the old stories of Herodotus to the Silicon Valley entrepreneurs talk about it. The gene-editing technology such as CRISPR has made possible of preventing diseases before it happens, which could eradicate many of the incurable illnesses we have today. However, it has also allowed us to dream once again to the possibility of eternal life. I've always in the belief that we try to maximize our time in our bodies because life is finite. What will we do with our lives if we can live forever? Will we cherish it or abuse it?

In this episode, I speak with Mark Ryall, an independent researcher and author of the book "Age Decoded". We discuss the virtue of humanity and the need to examine what it means to live life. We are wired by default to think in short term but what if this becomes infinite? There is something more than eternal youthfulness and beauty beyond the lines of a finite life.

Here is what we discuss in the episode;
- Who is Mark Ryall and the inspiration of his book
- What is CRISPR and gene editing
- What is the significant and potential achievements of this technology
- The ethical difference between preventing diseases and prolonging life
- What does it mean for humanity to obtain eternal life

In the near future, there will be a society where we all live among robots. They will be utilised for war, work and sex. In this future, we will need to reexamine how to maintain our human dignity. War without mobilizing humans can either turn us more vicious as we aren't the ones pulling the trigger. Needless to say about work; we are already experiencing the replacement for humans for robotic automation. Sex is a big concern, which I think may end our human civilization. How do we maintain our humanity among all of this radical change without us knowing how to prepare for this future? Am I being pessimistic or should I be having a different perspective.

In this episode, I speak with Joshua K. Smith, a pastor and independent researcher who has written a book called Robotic Person - Our Future with Social Robots. We discuss what it is to be human in this time of age where we see this driving force to replace humans with more efficient and productive robots. Through his early adulthood serving for the country in the military, he has seen a different side of humanity and made him examine the ethical value of living with this human creation.

Here in this episode we talk about;
- What made Joshua Smith the man who he is today
- Does robotic warfare dehumanize war
- Radical shift in the way we look at jobs
- How do we ready our philosophical way of life
- Will sexbots end human civilization

The more I examine the crypto industry, I can’t help but feel a generational and paradigm shift that started to happen in the backdrop of the global financial crisis in 2008. No longer do the Millenials, GenZs and even GenXers want to accept the economic and systematic construct that keeps them out of control of not only their wealth but how their society is run. The crypto community wants clarity, transparency, and a system that works, not by fuzzy man-made decision-making processes but by technology that truly opens up equal opportunities to all.

In this episode, I speak with Leslie Lamb, the podcast host of Crypto Unstacked, where she interviews the greatest minds in the crypto/blockchain space, covering topics of the latest decentralized finance projects, web3.0, and crypto investing. She's also the Head of Partnerships at Amber Group, a crypto financial services company based in HK. We dive into the reasons why crypto and decentralized finance have a place in this world.

Here is what you’ll learn from this episode;

  • What drew Leslie into the world of crypto
  • How decentral finance (DeFi) is furthering Bitcoin’s original narrative
  • What social constructs we are taking down with the crypto networks
  • How the generational shift is the power shift
  • How the stable coin projects are the game changer

We need to challenge the definition of success that society showcases for all of us. The stardom, the big house, and cars, the luxurious vacations. All of that is empty without the human connection. The ties to family, friends, colleagues, etc are fundamentally more important. Without them how do you enjoy your so-called success? We have seen people like Chris Cornell, Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, Chester Bennington, etc take their lives even though from the outside, all they looked were nothing but successful.

In this episode, I speak with Jonathan Troen, a life master coach who spearheads the self-love revolution. Nothing is more important than loving thyself and then you can spread the love around. He and I discuss the new pathway to success and how we can set ourselves and our children for a better way to view our lives.

Here in this episode, we discuss;
- How to remove the labels we put on ourselves
- Why the pursuit of financial success is empty in itself
- How we need better role models of successful people
- How leading by example is the way to teach our children
- How to take the leap to reboot your career

Jonathan Troen has spent 20+ years in the music and entertainment industry where he felt deeply unhappy. After discovering yoga post-surgery, he began to understand that self-love was not taught enough and the only lasting love comes from the inside. He is the co-founder of Austin Yoga Tree, runs his own Self Love Revolution life mastery practice, and has been a speaker at South x SouthWest in 2019.

Why are governmental incentives and punitive measures not enough to drive societal change to tackle problems like climate change, ethical sourcing of labor, etc? Shareholders demand profit at all costs and that most likely won't change. But what if we the consumers, end-users, and economic participants demand change and influence their value in society? How do we do that?

In this episode #57, Justin Goldston, professor of Penn State University, talks about the use of technologies like blockchain that already has incentive structures built-in, and also the transparency system can directly influence how we value corporations that are doing the right thing and this will incentives good behavior. Otherwise, the penalty will be a loss in corporate market value that they are so afraid of.

In this episode we talk about;
- How Justin started to think about ethical supply chain
- What are the certain bottlenecks to just tech solutions
- How the sharing economy ties into the corporate actions
- What are the other uses of blockchain that can contribute to incentives
- How he is involved in Bitcountry and the excitement he sees in this project

Justin Goldston is a certified supply chain and organisational change professional who has developed and executed comprehensive digital transformation, organisational change, and supply chain strategies, resulting in optimal customer satisfaction and profitability for clients around the world. Experienced in serving on boards within industry and academia, with his previous consulting, planning, and leadership experience, delivers value to small, medium, and large organisations in a variety of industries.

What does it take to survive in a world where traditional jobs are being destroyed and new ones created? There are no job descriptions or a full set of skillsets that can be brought into these roles. You have to have the flexibility to mold into these new positions. Crypto is the talk of the streets these days, almost similar to 2017. What's different is that corporates and institutional investors are getting involved. It's not just a retail craze anymore. I thought it would be good to get back on the topic to talk about all things crypto and perhaps make it into a regular topic to pick up.

In this episode, I speak to Naomi Oba, the marketing director of Bitcoin.com Exchange. We get into the topics of crypto payments, DeFi, derivatives and education. We've kept it broad just so that we cover many topics as possible but after the show, we realized we left out Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT). Perhaps that could be a topic for next time.

Here we talk about the following;
- How is crypto going to be used for payments
- How can institutional investors can invest in crypto derivatives
- How Dex's and DeFi lending works
- Use of crypto for corporations
- How DeFi can get into the underbanked

Naomi Oba is heading up Marketing for the Bitcoin.com Exchange, doing everything from editorial to content creation and social media management.

She's has a deep understanding of the crypto industry and a track record of solving problems and taking the initiative to drive projects to completion.

A studied linguist, she became fascinated with the idea of a decentralized financial system and have been studying financial concepts ever since. She is self-taught, relentlessly doing online courses and questioning knowledgable peers to deepen her understanding.

She has a blog @naomioba on Medium, to showcase what she has learned in the esoteric world of crypto.

Research is underway, after many decades, psychedelics are back in the spotlight for academics and physicians to discover safe ways to cure people with trauma and mental illnesses. Some states in the US are decriminalizing them. However, in the past 2 episodes, I've covered that.

In this episode, we dive a little bit deeper into how we can heal, integrate and transform our lives. It's not just for the mentally ill, but even for all of us. There are self-discovery and transformation that can be done. We are all buried in everyday life that we don't get to understand who we are anymore. Isn't it time we get back in touch with ourselves before life passes us by?

Here in this episode, we will learn,
- How we can find where we need to heal
- If psychedelics is right for us
- What is the experience could be
- How to integrate what we learned
- How to know when we conclude the help from psychedelics

Greg Lawrence is a psychedelic integration and transformation coach. He runs a practice called Psychedelic Integration Specialist. He tells us how he used it for himself to heal and helps people to discover themselves and take that back into their daily lives.

3D printers are going to revolutionize manufacturing as we know it. They have been around for a while now but it’ll be years until we see a complete transformation of the manufacturing industry. The environmental impact could also be phenomenal when manufacturers will start producing products that are designed to be reused by personal 3D printers and their business model will change into a recurring revenue-focused business like the software industry. Ideas around it are limitless.

However, we do need to think about, after we see a world full of 3D printers, the considerations around job replacement, bionic humans, and personalized weapons. Out of any new technology comes its pitfalls as well.

What you will learn from this episode;

  • How will 3D printers transform manufacturing
  • How designers and engineers can monetize their skills
  • Business model shifts for the manufacturing industry
  • The ecological case for 3D printing
  • Ethical challenges we will face

The cannabis industry has grown exponentially grown in the last decade or so. But this plant medicine has been around since ancient civilizations. It has been pushed into the abyss of a century now but it’s coming back from the darkness.

Have you ever woken up and realized you are in your dreams? That’s lucid dreaming. You are in this fuzzy area where your conscious mind meets your subconscious mind. You can fly, you can have sex with the person of your dreams, but also tune in to the psychological trauma you have inside you. No need for therapy, no need for drugs, you can get in touch with your subconscious and understand yourself and heal.

In this episode, I speak with Aldo Barba, a lucid dreaming coach from Mexico, about why we need to have lucid dreams and how. He left his day time job to pursue his dream to help people, he wrote a book about it and hosts his podcast (in Spanish).

Here’s what you will learn in this episode;

  • Why we should have lucid dreams
  • Messages we will receive from the dreams
  • How the subconscious mind works in the dream
  • How to achieve lucid dreams
  • How to prolong the effects

In this episode, I speak with Dustin Miller, the host of The Polymath Polycast, who has been interviewing polymaths to learn about their traits and mental modes to become multi-disciplinary in numerous fields.

I have read many articles and books about the debate of whether being a specialist or generalist is better. Being a jack of all trades, master of none, is not a disadvantage anymore. Moreover, having many different skills and continually mastering them is something we should be doing.

Here is what you will learn in this episode,

  • What is a polymath
  • Modular education models are the future
  • Positivity from AI disrupting jobs
  • Connecting the educational dots together
  • Common traits and motivation of polymaths

Dustin is also creating a modular education system. Modular education breaks down degrees into smaller, Lego-like building blocks of learning, and allow both children and adults to tailor their education background to better position them for job prospects and career mobility.

In this episode, I speak with Eugene Wang, CEO of Sophie’s BioNutrients, a Singapore based food biotech company that’s developing large scale facilities to grow alternative protein using micro-algae.

We have lost nearly three-quarters of our land environment's biodiversity due to industrialized agriculture to raise livestock. Like cell-based protein, this can be produced in a lab but unlike lab-grown food, this can be scaled bigger and faster.

Here are the highlights from this episode;

  • How is micro-algae so much more nutrient than most protein sources
  • How is micro-algae such an efficient way to grow protein
  • How does this compare with plant/cell-based protein
  • Why he thinks bio-processing is the way we will grow food in the future
  • Why we won’t be compromising our culinary culture with this protein source

Eugene started this business when his daughter, Sophie, suffered an allergic reaction to seafood. Since then he has been finding a way for people to get nutrients from the ocean without using animals.

Sophie’s Bionutrients is on a mission to unleash the limitless possibilities of nature, restore our planet, and eliminate food allergies by creating plant-based, protein-rich alternatives to meat and seafood using microalgae, the mother of all food and plant life.

In this episode, I speak with Dr. Betty Kovacs, author of Merchants of Light, about how the ancient civilizations had higher interconnectivity with cosmic consciousness through their shaman-mystic traditions.

Today this consciousness is surfacing once again all around the world. It is rising out of the dreaming, symbolic, visionary mind that is sensitive to deeper orders of reality and in tune with the creative principles of both the human psyche and the universe. This mode of consciousness can heal the wounds of our current worldview by igniting these creative principles within modern, rational consciousness.

Here’s what you can expect from the episode;

  • What is Merchants of Light?
  • What are the misunderstandings of our view of ancient civilizations?
  • How the ancient people were using sacred plants and other techniques to reach altered state of consciousness
  • How the Duerteronomists reversed the course of our spiritual and religious construct
  • What she thinks the ancient civilizations will say about our modern society

She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine, in Comparative Literature and Theory of Symbolic/Mythic Language. She taught Literature, Writing, and Symbolic/Mythic Language for twenty-five years. She served many years as Chair and Program Chair on the Board of Directors of the Jung Society of Claremont in California and sits on the Academic Advisory Board of Forever Family Foundation. She speaks to national and global audiences through webinars, keynote presentations, and media interviews. Dr. Kovacs is the author of Merchants of Light: The Consciousness That Is Changing the World, winner of the Nautilus Silver Book Award and The Scientific & Medical Network 2019 Book Prize. She has also written The Miracle of Death: There Is Nothing But Life.

In this episode, I have Adam Andros Aronovich, a researcher for the Medical Anthropology Research Center (MARC). He also conducts workshops at the Temple of the Way of Light in the Peruvian Amazon.

Psychedelics, after being criminalized in the 1970s, for 4 decades of being in the shadows, have now started to be researched for its profound impact in curing mental diseases. But it also allows us to see a different perspective of reality, one that is not molded in the rationalistic, and materialistic world view that we are accustomed to.

Here’s what to expect from the episode;

  • What exactly defines a psychedelic drug?
  • How does Ayahuasca work in the body?
  • What are the medicinal benefits being discovered?
  • What actually is a psychedelic experience?
  • How psychedelics awakes us from what we perceived as reality
  • What is the altered consciousness that made Adam realize?

Adam Andros Aronovich is a doctoral candidate focusing on Medical Anthropology and Cultural Psychiatry. He is an active member of the Medical Anthropology Research Center (MARC) and part of the Ayahuasca Community Committee at the Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines. In the last four years, he has conducted extensive fieldwork in the Peruvian Amazon, where he has been doing qualitative research in collaboration with ICEERS, the Beckley Foundation, and, more recently, the Centre for Psychedelic Studies at Imperial College. Beyond his work conducting and coordinating research, Adam regularly facilitates workshops at the Temple of the Way of Light, a prestigious healing center in the Iquitos area.

*The Future Design Podcast does not endorse the recreational use of psychedelics. While these substances often carry a negative stigma and taboo, we ask that you learn for yourself and make an informed decision.

In this episode, I chat with Peter Voss, CEO of AIGO.ai (Ahy-go) and the gentleman who coined the term “Artificial General Intelligence".

AGI has been long talked about for decades but it wasn’t because of computational power that is helping it become a reality but a diversion from how AI has been developed. Data scientists and cognitive psychologists both are needed to make this AI come to life.

Here’s what to expect from the episode;

  • The 3 waves of AI - the history of AI
  • The difference between Programmers / Data Scientist v.s. AGI
  • Are Quantum computers important for General AGI?
  • What are the elements necessary for AGI?
  • What is the mechanism of “Understanding”?
  • Can AGI connect with humans?
  • The human limitation that AGI can make a breakthrough
  • How AGI will deal with the Trolley Problem

Peter Voss started in electronics engineering, then fell in love with software. The first major success was developing a comprehensive ERP package and taking that company from Zero to 400-person IPO in seven years.

Currently, he’s focused on commercializing the second generation of our AGI-based ‘Conversational AI’ technology called 'Aigo' (say: I-go). Aigo.ai is the most advanced natural language interaction platform available. It is implemented using a brain-like cognitive architecture – also known as ‘The Third Wave of AI’.

We discuss a lesser-known philosophy, Sentientism. Sentience is defined as the animal's capacity to experience. It is a framework that focuses mainly on logic, evidence, and morals to improve our thinking as well as decision-making regarding the development of a social construct. Does this mode of thinking reprogram our society towards functioning more effectively as a sentient whole rather than being human-centric?

Here are a few episode highlights:

  • Understanding Sentientism: What defines a Sentientist?
  • How can sentient-harming industries move away from it?
  • Sentientism and its benefits in the modern world.
  • Can Sentientism work in developing nations?
  • Debunking issues around de-growth.
  • The importance of our decisions.

Jamies is an advocate of Sentientism which commits to the use of evidence, reason and granting moral consideration to all sentient beings. This philosophy could give us a better chance to solve the world’s problems.

He also has been working on a wide range of NGOs / charity / open data /learning / private investment/community building projects. (e.g. https://www.facebook.com/groups/sentientism/) He is also working as a ski instructor and ski race coach (trainee).

In the modern world, we seek success, and it is often tied with power, money, and fame, preventing us from understanding what is most important in life. How can we apply Buddha's philosophy in conjunction with our current mode of operation?

Learn the basic Buddhist teachings and ways to apply its philosophy to everyday life.

  • “Buddhism awakens the mind to the Natural Law.” What is "The Natural Law"?
  • The importance of meditation and the techniques to attain complete peace of mind.
  • Finding importance and meaning in life and why happiness is only temporary.
  • Navigating through and out of our human desires for material success, cravings, desires etc.

David Roylance is a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Gotama Buddha’s teachings. He has been part of the Thai community since 2001. He visited Thailand for the first time in 2002 and brought back the Traditional Thai Healing Arts back to the United States of America to share with people in the Western World. He now resides in Thailand.

In the last 40 years, the region that has moved out of the poverty line and over the income bracket of over $5 was the Asia Pacific. However still nearly half of them live below that line. Africa has increased its population but still the majority of them live underneath this line.

Perhaps fintech's super USP is being able to serve the un / under-banked population due to the rise in mobile phone penetration. However financial literacy is still an issue amongst all other societal issues.

Ever wondered why you have trouble getting new habits to stick? Or simply struggle with dropping old patterns? The problem might be found in our subconscious mind, the part of our brains we use 95% of the time. How can we stir the auto-pilot brain to work for us? First, let’s go deeper into what the subconscious mind means.

The subconscious mind is our operating system and the conscious mind is the application. If we improve the OS, we can also improve the application.

The political and monetary systems haven't been working for the majority of the developed nations for quite some time. We ask the government to come up with better solutions and bit by bit we offer our freedom in exchange for more intervention in our economic and political lives. Are we expecting too much from our governments, when they are head deep into conflicts and stagnation themselves?

Inequalities in our world are further distancing us from an egalitarian future. The failure of how we put our dependency on capitalism, at least the version of capitalism we run today, is no longer functioning as the original theory suggested.

How do we maintain our liberty and sustainable economic lives?

The polarization of people, especially in the US stems from inequality in my view. Inequality isn’t just about the capital-rich and the working poor. There’s much more depth in the definition of rich and poor. Future Design Podcast hopes for an egalitarian future but if the system is already set up so that equal opportunities can’t turn into reality, hoping for it, voicing for it, won’t simply do.

If governments were to tax the rich, the ideology can be based on the egalitarian start of a new life, not the equal result of every life, reducing the wealthy down towards the lower denominator.

The U$720bn dairy industry is about to be disrupted. Being a large polluter of greenhouse gas emissions, representing about 10%, and water, it is an unsustainable product and business. An alternative is on its way.

Turtletree Labs is using stem cell technology to reproduce dairy without animals. Not only it can create dairy products but it can also produce human breast milk. For mothers having difficulty in expressing, this can be the best solution without relying on formula milk.

Energy medicine has its deep roots in traditional methods of medicine. Be it Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurveda or shamanic traditions. They are oriented around a different model where healing is based on energy fields of the body unlike its Western counterpart that focuses on matter and chemical.

As of today, many academics are researching the existence of our meridians (primo-vascular system). Soon we will be equipped with hard science for creating applications and architectural designs to prevent or neutralize dissonance from electromagnetic pollution to the energy field of our body.

How do you prepare yourself financially when the economic tides are changing? Governments and central banks are working on a monetary solution to COVID19 recession but public spending and Keynesian policies have diminishing returns every time they are executed.

"No longer can people expect a hand out from the government, so we need to invest more. However, education in investment is necessary to grow capital in the future"

Becoming a financial expert is not the immediate answer but looking at local communities for investment opportunities where you have information advantage or preserving wealth through gold or cryptocurrency maybe the answer.

Ayurveda is considered one of the world’s most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems.

It is not just a system for treating illness or preventing diseases, but Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). According to the ancient Ayurvedic proverb “When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need”. From the advancement of Western medicine, we have slowly forgotten that, if nature and our constitution are not living in harmony, we cannot be healthy . Maybe we should be listening to the ancient words of wisdom.

Vaidya Priyanka offers the wisdom that our mind has the power to heal our body and how to keep it vibrant and healthy to reach our full potential as humans.

Just because we are in a post-COVID19 world, or the people are standing up to racial justice doesn't mean you should jump on the bandwagon. However, it's a good time to re-evaluate what your brand should mean to the world.

What Joe Escobedo means by this is that it's hard for anybody to sell anything at the moment so take some time to think about what you are providing to the world with your brand. Think about value creation rather than financial creation.

While our physical lives merge more into our virtual lives, cyberbullying has become a social problem, whether it's an adult or a child. Studies show that 50% of parents with children aged 6 -18 have reported them to be bullied. 1/5th of that takes place online so with that in mind how do we prepare our children for the negative effects of social media?

Anuradha Rao, Ph.D. of Communications and New Media, also a founder of Cyber Cognizanz, works with people to understand the promises and perils of living and working in cyberspace and how to combat its negativities.

She talks about what parents can do when their children are bullied, how parents can avoid them from getting bullied, and how we can educate our children to prepare them from potential adversity from being online.

We also get into topics like the consequences of buying social media followers, tackling fake news, and the constant focus and envy towards just on the positive sides of life.

AI is already deployed in many different industries. Just look at your smartphone, it's running in the back of the music/video streaming sites, ads on your social media feed, or the e-commerce sites. In one fashion or another it's out there. It has even detected a peculiar case of pneumonia that broke out in Wuhan in December 2019, 9 days before the WHO declared it a pandemic. So what's next for AI?

According to Shalaka Verma, Director of Partner Technology of Microsoft says the COVID19 pandemic reset the reality for businesses to bring forward the digital transformation into AI. We have the technological infrastructure, computer power, cloud solutions, etc to excel AI in various sectors vertically and horizontally.

What is lacking is 1) Trust; credibility in the data analysis output is still lacking. Her solution is to create an universal standard policy of collecting data, security and the right to control. 2) System interoperability: one silo AI model wouldn't be as useful if it's not integrated with other systems across not just the division, but across the enterprise and even with the client's.

There are still challenges that need to be thought of from a holistic level in order to see it go to the next level.

Global carbon emissions reduced by 17% during this pandemic. We still need to reduce 7.6% p.a. until 2030 to meet the target set by the 2015 Paris Agreement. Aren't we going back to the same way we consumed energy pre-Covid-19? If we can't change our behavior, we need to change the system.

There are many smarter devices that are energy efficient and DIY solar energy generators being made for household use, but digging deeper, what technologies are out there that can be both high in energy generation and clean? Green energy has yet to prove that it can be a fully functional base loader.

Jimeno Fonseca, a senior researcher of energy sources for ETH Zurich, is back on our show to explain how various nuclear reactor technologies are being experimented to replace the old, which can avoid catastrophes like the Cherynoble, Three Mile Island and Fukushima.

Bitcoin is now well known among institutional investors as an asset class as a hedge against inflation and political uncertainty. However, not only is the cryptocurrency infrastructure user un-friendly, but the news about crypto exchanges being hacked also doesn't give us much confidence that we can safeguard our cryptocurrency. If we know how crypto gets hacked, it can prepare us for entering the esoteric world of this new shiny digital gold.

The industry is following the traditional securities market, monetary authorities are laying down regulations so that investors can trade with industrial-grade custody services. We don't hear much about custody services and how they work in the securities world, as much of that is thought of as a given. Crypto should be no different but it's stimulating to know how this works as it's one of the most technical solutions offered in the industry.

Fasting has been around for thousands of years. The Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims practice it and now for a few years it has made a come back into the mainstream with the health coaches and athletes raving about it. It's called Intermittent Fasting and it's trending. There are many ways to practice it, and whichever form it is, I believe it will outlast any diet fad out there.

The science is there. Once 12 hours into fasting, your body depletes the sugar (glucose) as its energy source and turns to fat inside your body to burn. This is called the ketosis state. But it doesn't stop there. Not only does it help lose weight, the beta hydroxybutryate (BHB) that is a form of ketones does wonder for the body, including supercharging the cognitive function, prevents and fights cancer, optimizes heart function, etc.

The cannabis industry, by legalization of medical and recreational use, attracted institutional and retail money and created a bubble with sky high valuations. Sound familiar?

This industry was no different to the internet boom or the ICO boom. Exuberant expectations and investment into this industry, bloated the market by over expansion of production, especially in Canada. Cash rich companies (not by profit) had to expand into other countries that legalized cannabis and acquire distribution channels and production facilities. However, many countries had a much stricter regulation around the industry and it fell short of many investors expectations.

However on a positive note, there are more countries looking at this industry, particularly on benefits from tax revenue, job creation and law enforcement cost saving, and there is a chance to re-do this industry all over again in other geographical locations.

Many cannabis companies now have to roll up their sleeves, bluntly re-examine their business model and decide if they need to blow this joint (industry).

Blair Jordan, a restructuring advisor specialized in the cannabis industry, dissects the industry from a business perspective and pulls the covers off of the ever so promising sector.

What are we educating our children for? Are we setting them up to be our future workers or is there something else that should be in the forefront when we think about our children's education.

The boomer's generation had a powerful economic growth so there was optimism for the future. Right now, with the stagnating economy, the future is not so clear. However, our world is changing so drastically, especially with technology's exponential growth and its strong relationship in our lives, it's hard to keep up. AI and automation is replacing our jobs and leaving us with choices that we weren't expecting to have.

Fiona Edwards Brown, the assistant principal of the International School Singapore, shares with us the approach she takes on educating children in a complex time we live in.

What do people love about a certain brand or company?
Is it the quality, price, looks, or is it the story behind it?

When we think of Apple, Microsoft or Amazon, we think of its founders, how they communicate, how they look on stage or on TV, and associate the company around their image. Companies also project their image around how their product or service looks to their end customer.

Storytelling a brand is not something new, it's been done for so long. If you ever watched an episode of Mad Men, even in the 60s they were spinning stories. Then why are we talking about it these days?

I believe in a world of so many options for consumers, if it's not the story of the brand, it's hard to differentiate anymore. Even their stories become tiring because it stinks of commercialism.

Then how do we do storytelling now? People say "authenticity" but we need to dig deeper into what that means. That's how we do it on the Future Design Podcast.

On one hand it sounds almost magical and looks like real progress. On the other, it does seem like our privacy and autonomy to choose are no longer in our hands.

On to discuss this much talked about topic is Niraj Nagpal, a specialist in this field and more tellingly, ExchangeWire Ad tech personality of the year for 2019.

With his dry humour and astute insights, he unravels the business, technology and purpose behind this exciting but somewhat controversial industry.

Media and journalism by the introduction of the internet, especially in the recent decade, was brought down its barrier to allow many amateur content creators to flood the market with information of all sorts and styles. During this quarantine lockdown, we are constantly seeing / reading news about the pandemic, whether they are real, fake or somewhere in between.

Teymoor Nabili, a former reporter of BBC, CNBC, Al Jazeera, Channel News Asia, etc, dives into his thoughts on where the future of media production is going.
Now an Executive Producer at Tech for Impact (https://www.techforimpact.asia/)

The next generation will need to "invest into user friendly technology and quality production such that its relate-able to everybody." - (paraphrasing Teymoor)

We have entered the age of artificial intelligence and big data. Businesses, governments and individuals are harnessing the power of data to get a leg up in strategizing and decision making.

As our technology has advanced, so has our accessibility to devices that can deliver information to us at great speed. This ability to be fed information at our beck and call is dramatically changing the ways by which we interact and conduct ourselves in our day to day lives.

There is however a darker side to it all, that with governments or corporations now having the power to invade our privacy and use our data for commercial or political purposes.

Actionable Intelligence, as Dr Carter explains, is;
"The right information, in the right persons hands, at the right time".

Dr Keith Carter, an associate professor at the NUS School Of Computing  unpacks the various dimensions of the technology itself and its broader ramifications.

Cutting and pasting business models globally obviously doesn't work. Business leaders need to understand that cultural consideration is necessary when landing their business on foreign shores. In respect to Asia, the region is not just one block of the sameness, each country has its own culture, generational preferences and business etiquette.

Prethika explains in her framework called "TRUST" - Trust, Relationships, Up-close, Shake-up and Talent.

Prethika is a writer with a background in international relations. Her interests lie in political and socioeconomic developments in the Southeast Asian region. She has written articles for some of Asia's top brands including Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Grab among many others.

"The artist is meant to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable."

Those words have held true for generations and as we enter a new era where artists are facing never before seen challenges ranging from socio-political upheavals to technological disruption, the need to disturb the status quo has never been more pressing.

Why was Harvey Weinstein so influential in the movie business and how has the MeToo movement affected behaviour within the industry? Will AI and DeepFake technology spur more creativity in filmmaking? How can actors/artists make themselves more relevant to society? Will the disruptive influence of streaming platforms eventually usurp the big movie theatres and the box office revenue model?

Kamil Haque, a multi-ethnic actor, director, producer and acting coach, discusses some of these hot button topics and unravels what it means to be an actor in this modern age.

Having starred in award-winning productions around the world, he is also the founder of Haque Centre of Acting & Creativity (HCAC), Singapore’s first professional acting studio. His journey began in Los Angeles where he enrolled in the American Music & Drama Academy (AMDA) where he graduated top of his class with a BA (Hons) in Acting.

Following that, he attained the distinction of being the first Singaporean and the only Asian at that time to train and teach at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute (LSTFI). He is currently the only coach in Asia experienced in teaching the Strasberg Method of Acting.

Kamil was also the Head Acting Instructor at East West Players, the USA’s oldest Asian American Theatre group, as well as the role of Global Internship Director at the Company of Angels (CoA), Los Angeles’ oldest repertory theatre company. He is a working observer at The Actor's Studio - the first Singaporean to be given this title.

To date, Kamil has coached well over 1000 students, many of whom have gone on to star in major Hollywood blockbusters as well as Emmy award winning productions. Like the founding members of the Group Theatre, Kamil hopes to inspire the 'Fervent Years' in the lives of people he meets and works with.

“Run for fun? What the hell kind of fun is that?” You may recall when Marty McFly and Doc Emmet Brown went back to 1885, and Doc in a saloon was rambling with the gents about how horse carriages became motorized carriages called automobile, and people just run for fun. Will zero marginal cost and autonomous vehicle usher in a reality where we will just walk for fun?

Dr Pieter Fourie is the project leader of the Engaging Mobility group at FCL. Pieter has more than 10 years experience in agent-based transport simulation and has been an active developer of the open source MATSim project since 2008.
https://fcl.ethz.ch/research/responsive-cities/engaging-mobility.html

He wants to bring these tools into practice, and see simulations used in neighborhood sketch-planning. Pieter obtained his PhD from ETH Zurich while at FCL and received the ETH Medal for his PhD thesis 'Data-driven Transit Simulation'.

Much of his research deals with the generation of models depicting more realistic populations of households and individuals that are derived from limited and incomplete information. Along with this team he has developed an integrated approach to modelling coordinated activity such as ride-sharing behavior and speeding up agent based transport simulations through meta-modelling techniques.

Bidushi says that the new space race is going to be in India and China. However, if we want to explore space, it shouldn’t be a race but something that the human race should be doing united as one, by sharing knowledge, information and resources. Humans have an everlasting hunger for knowledge and we will be pushing the boundaries way beyond Mars and there are so many developments from space pharma to agriculture that are happening to make this possible.

An ex-NASA scientist-turned-astropreneur, she has three decades experience in spacecraft development and operations, NewSpace startup growth, academic administration, scientific research, and technical writing.She is Founder of Astropreneurs HUB, a Singapore- and US-based startup dedicated to space workforce development through software solutions and sector-related training.

Her previous experience includes over two decades with NASA as a scientist and engineer. She has analyzed and synthesized technical information and played a key role in fostering communication between academic and industrial teams with varying priorities and work cultures, both within the US and overseas. NASA projects have included the Hubble Space Telescope, the Mars Rover Program, the Galileo Mission to Jupiter, the European Space Agency's Herschel Space Observatory, and others.

Dr. Bhattacharya also has experience in higher education research development and established the Office of Sponsored Research for science programs at Claremont McKenna, Pitzer and Scripps Colleges, in Claremont, California, where she increased federal award rates by 67%, and managed $4 million in active grants.Dr. Bhattacharya holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in space physics from the UCLA as well as dual degrees from Rutgers University, a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a B.A. in physics.

Traditional monetary capital is based on zero-sum and absolute standards. However, this does not capture all the human value creation because we do so much more than what can be captured by simple monetary terms. How do we integrate this into quantifiable value?

A graduate of IIM Ahmedabad, Siddharth was the head of South Asia’s largest trading floor until 2011. He then spent four years in the Gandhi Ashram where he explored new paradigms for economics.

He is based out of Singapore where he has founded Sacred Capital. Together with team-mates around the world, they are building a reputation based economy to unleash multi-dimensional wealth. Their reputation interchange enables scaling of new forms of capital: social, cultural and intellectual.

Over the past 8 years, Siddharth has spoken at hundreds of public forums - from weekly features on television channels, to academic institutions like MIT, platforms for ideas like TEDx and more. His story has also been featured in publications like Forbes Asia, GQ and more."

Do we just want quick dopamine hits? Is it true that we are really so starved for attention, desperate for the “likes” we get on social media, that we post whatever makes people react?

Do we really want instant gratification? Do we wish to stuff our faces with junk food, then snap our fingers and expect to have a body like a demi-god?

Have we lost our attention span? Can we listen to a speech for more than 10 minutes without pulling out our smartphones?

The internet has lowered barriers to create and distribute content. We are drowning in so much information and content, and making rapid choices on the kind of content that we take in. On top of that we now have a polarization of quality. How do we make these choices? Why do we spend time on one content and not on another? How do content creators create content that sticks?

Watch Neal Moore break these down for us in our latest podcast.

Neal has a 20 year career spanning across TV, publishing, advertising and film in the UK, USA and Asia where he is currently based.

He was originally trained as an actor and then as a journalist. He co-founded Click2View, Singapore’s first dedicated content marketing agency in 2010, which served world-class clients including AIA, Ben & Jerry's, Canon, Cisco, Citibank, Google, HSBC, Panasonic, Singtel & Visa.

After selling his business in 2017, he spent a year writing, developing and producing two short films, a sitcom and a podcast series, before taking a role as Head of Content & Business Development with Southeast Asia's largest independent production company.

In January 2019, he launched Moore's Lore Media (https://www.mooreslore.com/) - Content Strategy & Storytelling Solutions with the goal of helping people and organisations tell better stories for business impact. He has been featured in Asian Entrepreneur, Inc. ASEAN, Marketing Magazine, Mumbrella Asia, Singapore Business Review, South China Morning Post, The Guardian, on Australia+, BBC Asia Business Report and the BBC’s Talking Business with Linda Yueh.

What do we need to spiritually harness an empowering technology such as blockchain?

Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, technology is as well. While it can be used to scam people or launder money, it can also be used to create a society that is more open and transparent. The internet has given people so much access to information that it has limited government’s power to control the people with propaganda. Blockchain technology is taking it to another level by further giving people the accountability and control of that information. We are at the cusp of that change and with an egalitarian society it can be a reality. Is the human race ready to embrace this technology with the right mindset?

I believe when creating technology or business, if it weren’t for the betterment of humanity, society and the planet that we live in, there is no point. This desire to elevate ourselves to a higher level of social connectivity derives from our heart, and our spirit. Blockchain can help us achieve this greater purpose.

But is blockchain just another fad? Weren’t there scams that entrenched the whole industry a few years ago?

Bitcoin was created so as to send money peer to peer by circumventing the central bank’s authority to control money flow. The underlying technology called blockchain allows for value and information to be exchanged without an intermediary. It is now being explored from startups to multi-national companies, which is making a groundbreaking impact on how we store, exchange and trace data.

Watch Karthik explain how we can take a step forward with spirituality.

Karthik Iyer is the ambassador of the P2P-Foundation (https://p2pfoundation.net/) and runs Blockchain Monk (http://blockchainmonk.com/) a DLT / DAO think tank out of Singapore and San Francisco. Due to his P2P-Foundation links, he has been involved in the Blockchain space for close to a decade. He was featured in the top 100 Fintech influencer list and mentors dozens of DLT startups in 4 continents.

He is a serial entrepreneur and founded Asia’s first neural network in the matching space and was part of the team that built one of the first tablet devices way back in 2007; he has successfully exited all his ventures to date. He holds close to half a dozen degrees from leading schools in the world like KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, Fudan University in China, among others.

He is regularly featured in Forbes, Economist and leading newspapers in Scandinavia, India and other Asian countries for his work on Blockchain & AI.
