Welcome to another episode of the Straight Talks Podcast! Where the conversation reigns supreme! On the show today, we have Michael & Cassi Chadwick. Michael is a pro swimmer who holds a few world records, has numerous international medals, and is vying for a spot of the US Olympic team for Tokyo 2020/2021. Cassi is married to Michael and both moved to San Diego about 2 years ago.

As most of us know, the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed. For the Olympic vets to the athletes vying for their first trip, that announcement affects them all. I am stoked to dive into how Michael & Cassi is responding to the situation and I hope that mindset can apply to anyone that is listening.

Beyond the olympics, what I love about Michael & Cassi is what they are beyond swimming. We talk about how Cassi is as much involved in the swimming competition as Michael is, the differences between the south and the west coast, and what it is like being married relatively young and living the life they are living.

I love how we dove into their lives beyond the sport and talk about things that indirectly affect what we see as consumers of Olympic sports.

Welcome to another episode of the StraightTalks Podcast. I am super stoked for our guests today as they are both some very important people in my life, Scott and Kristi McGihon. Both are entrepreneurs, accomplished athletes and coaches, and mentors to many including me.

The reason I brought these two on is like with all guests on the show, I believe their story has so many nuggets and lessons we all can take. Whether it is, entrepreneurship, athletics and sport, parenting, and encouragement during tough times.

The many topic we discussed was what to do when life (like a proverbial rug), is pulled under you. As we will talk about during the show, Scott & Kristi had their business of 19 years essentially stripped away from them. I saw how they responded but wanted them to tell our audience and the world what they were thinking and how they responded. I thought that story could be directly applied to today. Whether you are a small business owner, someone who lost their job, or are now struggling financially, I feel that their story can be very practical in this Coronavirus season that the whole world is facing.

I really hope you get something out of this episode.

Welcome to another episode of the StraightTalks Podcast! Today is an awesome episode as we have not only three of some of my good friends, but also three business owners, entrepreneurs, and athletes.

Josh Lee, a Dairy Queen owner, a CrossFit Trifecta coach, and a CrossFit athlete, is the other half of Rush Hour 4. Josh is a driven and confident athlete who is laser focused on the goals he has set for his life. He is in long game to become a CrossFit Games champion.

Chris Cordova & Kaylee Shroyer are recently engaged and are the owners of CrossFit Iconic, or Iconic Fitness. Not only are they both some of the nicest people you will ever meet, they are also some of the most driven people I know. Both are always striving to grow, whether it is personally or professionally.

It was a coincidence that I have had three small business owners on the show already. Chris, Kaylee, and Josh, like Mallory & Jared (who I am on Episode 1), give insight, wisdom, and knowledge on the mindset of running a small business. The best small business owners shine through times like this. I hope this episode showcases what small business owners are like, through the stories and conversation we had. Enjoy!

Welcome to another episode of the StraightTalks Podcast!

Super stoked for this guest and episode. Joshua Dyer, youth pastor at Horizon SD, pretty good baller, and a rapper. The guy is not only a good friend of mine, but also, he is the guy who baptized me for the first time a few months ago.

Josh has a unique perspective on life. The guy was essentially born on a ship, had all the jobs, and now apparently raps. This is why I wanted to have a conversation with him. I feel his life experiences and give wisdom and encouragement to anyone.

We dive into what he is doing currently, how he got to the job he has now, the differences between his job and other jobs people may have, his mixtape, funny stories, and the current state of today’s youth. A lot of nuggets you can grab from this conversation and I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to another episode of the StraightTalks Podcast

This is a unique episode, as it is tailored to a specific topic but I think everyone can get a nugget out of it.

With the world on quarantine, everyone’s lifestyles have been flipped upside down. A 9to5er is probably home way more, no more consistency in the day, and we probably have a lot more free time than we thought. One thing that is variable to change is nutrition.

My two guests, Lila Severson and Mallory San Nicolas are two real people with real personal experiences when it comes to nutrition and how it should benefit their life and their families life. Both are business owners, moms of a two crazy kids, and had to take nutrition into their own hands.

Lila, owns Revive Recovery, which provides next level recovery services, like the Hyperbaric Chamber and Infrared sauna. Mallory San Nicolas, owns CrossFit Barracks, a fitness facility looking to better anyone health and wellness. Both can agree that their services won’t be as beneficial without a solid nutritional foundation.

Both ladies gives insight and advice on how to tackle nutrition, specially with today’s current situation in mind. Enjoy!

Super stoked for this first episode. Our first guest ever is not only a dear firiend of mine (like family), but also the owner and head honcho of CrossFit Barracks, Mallory San Nicolas. Her husband Jared, who is just as important as her in the making of what is CrossFit Barracks, will also be joining us.

Mallory is not only a business owner, but also is a mentor to me, a mom, a teacher, and an MG warrior (we will get into that during the show). She has impacted so many lives and is just human being. Don’t wanna spoil the show, but she’s awesome.

Jared is the face of Barracks. I’ve never met a guy who everyone loves. He has the innate ability to develop a meaningful relationship with anyone he meets. He was my first CrossFit idol I looked up to and inspired to be as an athlete and a coach.

The original vision of this episode was to update our community on these two’s lives, especially with what is going on in our world today. But I believe it has grown to a message of hope. A message of hope to not only our clients who have had their lives impacted through CrossFit Barracks and therefore directly from Jared and Mallory, but also for small business owners, crossfitters, parents, homeschool families, people affected by MG and diseases like it. I really hope you enjoy this episode. Forgive me for the audio quality at times, first time is a charm and I will improve on it for the next episode!
