Today, I am joined by DeAndre Brown, he is a content creator who I have found while scrolling on Instagram. He does Instagram and TikTok. The reason why I reached out to him was because he was talking about how we should not be focusing on love in our 20s, but to prioritize our careers instead.

Today, I’m sitting down with comedian Jazmyn W (@jazmynjw on IG), and we hit it off! She is a female black comedian, who went from working a nine to five to just recently getting off a comedy tour with Martin Lawrence at the end of 2021. Pre-pandemic she was doing standup but when the world shut down she pivoted to Tiktok for her comedy.
In this episode, we are talking about the black experience while at work, one of my favorite series of hers which is 'Karen's Behavioral Therapy', and touch on her comedic journey and what it's meant to put herself out there.
Jazmyn creates fun, light-hearted Tiktok videos that everyone can relate to. And while it’s fun, it also brings awareness and learning to everyone who watches. So without further ado, Let’s get into it!
In this episode: * What Jazmyn learned in her 20’s * She started doing comedy at night, after working a 9-5 job. * Moving to LA, Jazmyn worked as an HR VP at a large entertainment company but gave it up to become a full time comedian * At the start of the pandemic, she started doing more Tiktok videos a day * Adapting to Tiktok on its early stage would make it easier to grow, that attracted Jazmin to the platform * ‘Stagnation is scarier than change’ * Jazmyn talks about therapy a lot, and has created different funny characters to portray how someone would react to the black community * Black hair is generally a touchy subject but being able to wear your hair whatever and wherever you want is a freeing experience * How the characters she creates mirrors her own experiences and the people around her * From a black woman’s point of view, Jazmyn creates content that turns her bad experiences into funny and therapeutic portrayals * The Black Community are often victims of microaggression, and standing up for yourself takes learning and practice * How opening up for Martin Lawrence happened * Going forward, Jazmyn aims to hype herself up and keeps reminding herself that she can do it * For the 20’s community: Have some confidence + believe in yourself

We also touch on Capable Consulting, a consulting firm for adults who are diagnosed with a learning disability.

Seriously, we have no idea what we're getting ourselves into.
This week I sit down with Avry Griffin. A jack of all trades, Avry had no idea his life would take him in so many different directions when entering his twenties. At the ripe age of 24, he has the roles of model, marketer, videographer, and entrepreneur all under his belt. Throughout the episode, we discuss how he got to all these places, the biggest fear 20-somethings face, why having a plan can hinder you instead of helping you, and whatever the heck being in an entanglement means.
