Army vet, Joe Lee Richards Jr. is reported missing October 20, 2010. His truck is found, keys in the ignition along with other valuables still in the vehicle. In November, an anonymous tip is received, seemingly providing a break in the case. What is soon revealed goes well beyond Joe Lee Richards Jr, exposing a darker history.

In the small, northeastern Arkansas town of Bay, 90-year-old Lavinda Counce has not answered calls from her daughter. Lavinda's daughter arrives to the home, where Lavinda's vehicle is missing, along with Lavinda herself. A black bag is found in the home with strange items. A frantic search begins.

This week Caitlin tells us about Ray and Faye Copeland. Mostly Ray, who was something of a flimflamming con of a man. His family moved a lot during the Great Depression, and he made his way through life thieving, starting first with his own father's farm animals, then moving up to more and more elaborate schemes.

Marjorie "Greta" Mason was 22-year-old nurse at the Little Rock Air Force Base. In 1983, about two weeks after moving to Arkansas she was found murdered in Lonoke County. Eventually, the police locked in on Barry Lee Fairchild as the killer. While Fairchild confessed to the crime, it wasn't as open and shut of a case as one might expect.

Delvin "Buckii" Meadows worked multiple jobs to support his family, in part because his mother had died nine months before. Buckii was known as a mama's boy and dreamed of being famous rapper, uploading his own music videos. In April of 2017 he was killed in Blytheville, Arkansas. Caitlin recounts to story of what happened and who did it.

Andrew tells us the story of James Alexander Cary, who served in the first World War before becoming a ranger with the National Park Service stationed in Hot Springs during Prohibition. Cary spent most of his time tracking down bootleggers and their liquor stashes in the mountains. In 1926, Cary arrested three men illegally transporting booze, one of whom threatened Cary, telling him that he would never be able to testify against the bootleggers.
Afterwards we test Caitlin's Harry Potter trivia and it seems really difficult unlike that easy Star Wars quiz Andrew was given.

Two men, Carter Elliot and Timmy Robertson are murdered in their home in Conway, Arkansas. Police have few leads and seemingly no suspects. That is until Elliot's ex-wife, Lark is kidnapped by her most recent ex-husband, Richard Conte. We return to Ft. Smith, Arkansas this week. We open with a man breaking into the home of an elderly woman, and then beating and raping her, but would survive. Several months later, another elderly woman is raped and murdered. The crimes are virtually identical, meaning that police have a serial rapist on their hands.

Red suffered a traumatic head injury as a youngster and started to exhibit odd behavior. Eventually, Red outgrew his surroundings and started traveling America by hitchhiking. He even got married and had a child, but would still disappear at months at a time. What was he up to?

In March of 2013, 14-year-old Sidney Nicole Randall went missing from her home in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Also missing was her stepfather, John. Except then John returned with Sidney still missing, and so the search for the young girl began.

In November of 2014, two-year-old, Malik Drummond wandered away from his home in Searcy, Arkansas. A massive search ensued, involving over 400 volunteers. The search yielded no results and eventually the FBI offered a $20,000 reward. Just over a year after Malik's disappearance, the truth made itself known.

Marcel Wayne Williams grew up in a broken home, leading to a broken life. He went to adult prison when he was only 15 years old where he would suffer physical and sexual violence. In 1994, he would be released and then kidnap, rape, and murder Stacy Rae Errickson. Williams would become one of the four people that the state of Arkansas hastily executed when their supply of the drug midazolam was expiring.

This week we talk about one of the most interesting people we've covered, Bass Reeves. Born a slave, he eventually got his freedom by escaping to Indian Territory before the end of the American Civil War. Eventually he would move to Ft. Smith, Arkansas where he would become the first black deputy west of the Mississippi. During his time rounding up outlaws, he would go on to have a legendary career.
Caitlin got engaged! She also tells us about some medical stuff and that time she got a sound bath and all of the great sleep she got. Andrew stopped depressing himself with dark films by playing a very hard video game which seem counterintuitive. He also tries to convince Caitlin to watch Garth Marenghi's Darkplace with poor results, but does get her interested in fantasy series Earthsea. We also discuss the Loki finale.
Ted Throneberry left his job to head home and was never heard from again. When police investigated, they found that his wife, Anne, was also nowhere to be found. The last two people known to have been at the Throneberry home were two men who had recently moved into the mountains, Mark Holsombach and Billy Frazier, who lived without running water and electricity in a small shack.

Larry Porter Chism threw away a shot at a nice career in law by also being into the illegal drug trade. Chism would be arrested and sentenced to 40 years in prison, but his story didn't end there. He and other prisoners were taken out for a bowling field trip for good behavior only to use this as an opportunity to escape! It only gets crazier from there.

June 1, 1979, Mary Lou York was murdered in her grocery store. The culprit was never in question, as York was able to identify her killer as Charles Laverne Singleton before she died. Singleton would be sentenced to death, but his time on death row would make headlines around the world.

We're a little late this week, but we're back. Caitlin tells us the tragic story of Jersey Bridgeman, who was abused by her father and stepmother, being chained to a dresser. The two of them would be caught and sent off to prison, and Jersey would go to live with her mother. Unfortunately, that's not how this story ends, as Jersey would go missing late one night.

Nannette Krenzel went missing on May 12, 1995. She was last seen leaving a Chicago bar after an altercation with her boyfriend. The next morning she would be found dead. Leslie Ballard came from a loving family and had a nice, cushy job. Then she met Mike MacKool, a former Marine with a checkered past. Leslie was enamored with Mike, but her family did not approve of their marriage. The MacKools loved adventure and more importantly, spending money whether it was their own or their family's.

In 1995 fear gripped the state of Arkansas. A man driving a white car and utilizing a blue light to impersonate a police officer began pulling over women in remote areas, taking them hostage, and then raping them. A massive task force was assembled to bring the man known as the Blue Light Rapist to justice.

In 1995, Jack Harold Jones Jr. robbed, raped, and murdered Mary Phillips and attempted to murder her 11-year-old daughter, Lacy. Lacy would somehow survive and be able to identify Jones as the killer. 1995 wasn't the first time Jones had done something like this though.

He supported Nena financially throughout her life, but the risk of being cut off from the money train threatened to change their relationship.

We travel back to 1976 in this week's episode of Paint the Town Dead! A single mother of three, Linda Edwards found work with the Garland County Sheriff's Department. Around this time she had also began an affair with a Hot Springs police officer named Thurman Abernathy. The two had many heated arguments and he was the last person to see Edwards before she disappeared. Abernathy was the prime suspect, but did he make her vanish? Yeah, probably.
There's not a Marvel show for us to yak about this week but we found something even better: Cults! Mostly, it's about Scientology. Andrew has continued down the rabbit hole from last week and he and Caitlin have just so much and so many words to share on the subject.

Maurice Clemmons began his run-ins with the law from a young age, bringing a gun to school. He was sentenced to 108 years for his many crimes. He would have his sentence reduced and be let out on parole, hoping to turn his life around, but old habits die hard.

Kenneth Williams fell into a life of crime when he was only nine years old. In 1998 he went beyond the looking glass, by committing murder. He killed Dominique Hurd, a beloved cheerleader at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Sadly, that was only the beginning of his vile crimes.

Andrew brings yet another twisted tale from Randolph County. After a stormy night in Dalton, Arkansas, two members of the Elliott family had been found murdered, and the other two were missing. It would take five years before any arrests would be made in this ghastly case.
After the horror, Andrew gets to make himself feel better by mocking Caitlin's lack of knowledge in geography, because Andrew is a jerk. Caitlin loves Unsolved Mysteries, and also her dogs freak out at some point.
