Kasakela – Peachy At some point in your day please use the word Peachy. Perfect for water cooler chat.. PEACHY. There’s a real power to this record created by five 19 year olds from Southend on Sea. In a recent chat with Little Indie Blogs they admitted that they’ve just been ‘milling along’ However things are soon to change ‘with the addition of our latest member, Kieran, we’ve really picked up and started to take the band seriously’ Let this record blow your speakers. It truly is peachy!
Hattie Briggs – Tilly’s Song Hattie is our featured artist on this month’s podcast. She’s been making music for most of her life and recently was shortlisted for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. In the podcast hear her story as well as plans for 2016. This track – Tilly’s Song – was inspired by her oldest friend and so it’s pretty special.
Jake Morrell – Wire and Thorns You get tracks like this.. The ones that you instantly hear and they make you want to get up and dance. As a sneak peak to his latest EP, Jake Morrell gives us Wire and Thorns. A London based performer he is ‘Influenced by the life he’s had so far’ using his music to ‘share his stories, his experiences to others’. His sound is addictive and from what I’ve heard of the EP, it’s one to watch.
Bayonne – Spectrolite This reminds of one of those rarest things. Where you wake up on a cool summer’s day and you’re actually pleased to see a light rain shower.. It’s the giver of life and afterwards all the vegetation glows with joy. Spectrolite is the first release from Roger Sellers ‘Bayonne’ for a while. Marking the start of a 9 date tour this positive record from the Austin artist is perfect on a morning.
Record of the Week Kiera Lawlor – Float This record kicks you into action straight away.. With a mixture of sounds the production is truly excellent. Kiera is an artist operating out of Manchester releasing this as her first record on Soundcloud for around a year. Already gaining a lot of attention, it’s a real ear worm and so is our Record of the Week!
Hattie Briggs – Pull Me Down If you don’t take a moment just to sit, ponder and reflect as this record washes over your soul then you’re made of sterner stuff than me. Our featured artist for November, Hattie Briggs. Here her voice comes to the fore in a track where her heart is worn fully on her sleeve. Sit back and enjoy her story in the show.
Dios Mio – Proto Dios Mio first came to our attention early in 2015.. Something wonderful happened when we shared them on Facebook.. Helena from the band’s mum commented and shared it around. Since then they’ve been carving out their sound ready to release a debut EP at the end of the month. As a tease here’s this.. Epic, inspirational with that dark grungey edge they’ve begun getting a name for. EP out 27th Nov.

MYAMI – Soldier With a slight cheeky and yet determined feel, Melbourne based MYAMI issues this release ahead of an EP due imminently. With slamming percussion notes and her wonderfully textured voice this is a tune which feels far bigger than 25,000 plays on Soundcloud. Considering she’s been operating from a bedroom studio for the last 12 months.. It puts me in my place as I stagger around in my pants with sleep in my eyes.
Axel Flovent – Forest Fires Beginning as quietly as a library creeping into life after an evening left dormant, Forest Fires is the musical version of a sunrise. It slowly starts to cast its light over your ears and presents an overall delicate and tender sounding record. Axel has been producing music for many years with the same poetic beauty as Forest Fires. This marks the release of a 4 track EP, available for full download in May… And will make a beautiful addition to any lonely Ipod.
Bop English – Dani’s Kitchen What a lovely organ Bop English must have! Here’s a track that wouldn’t be out of place amongst the likes of Mungo Jerry with kitsch foot tapping joy. Bop English is the solo work of White Denim’s James Petralli and has released an album which seems to dominating many a record store’s shelf. ‘Constant Bop’ has already been awarded 5 stars by The Guardian and Independent. Stick us on that list too.
The Magic Lantern – Harvest Moon I was meant to interview Jamie Doe from The Magic Lantern when he recently played a gig near me but ended up being so late I couldn’t do it! I did catch his set though and other than the audience clapping out of time, he’s just as soulful up close as on and MP3.. More so really. Oh and listen to the show to find out how his record label decided to open a record store.. After a drunken pub conversation!
AMETHYSTS – Alone What a perfectly laid back on chilled song AMETHYSTS have produced and one which needs more than 500 plays on Soundcloud. Lions Head – Begging
It’s a magical, cruisin’ on the beach style record that’s more mellow than a vanilla scented candle…. And to think it’s only their first original release (Good news though because the next track is due out on the 1st of April) Lion’s Head describe themselves as an American/German musical collaboration between singer-songwriter Ignacio and producer Philip. Lets number crunch for a minute. 1 Year (The amount of time ‘Petit Biscuit’ has been making music) 11 Tracks (Including Remixes on Soundcloud) Over 1 Million plays (In total) 585,758 Plays on Sunset Lover alone.. Made by 1.. 15 year old from France. Stunning isn’t it? One of the most beautiful downtempo tracks I’ve heard for a long long time… But then we say that every week. Heck this is a gorgeous record topping the #1 spot on the hype machine just days after its release. Gotta be a sound of 2015 already! Oh and it’ll cost you 0 pounds as its a free DL.

Cape Lion – Mainland
Fresh from Stockholm.. It’s Cape Lion! And the second band on the show with the word lion in the title. Maybe there’s a feature idea hidden in that somewhere? The group have been around since 2013 but this is their first release of the year. Featuring driving synths and a powerful beat this track is a groovy little foot tapper. It’s pop music with meaning.. And I love it!
LUKA – Fault Line
Last week we spoke to Lanks in our musical chain game (working title) He recommended that we spoke to a guy called Luka as he’s a fan of his music. I did send a few questions to him.. But he’s a little shy but a really nice guy. Here’s his super chilled track and next week we’ll connect from him to someone he’s a fan of / has played with!
Malka – Let it Go
It’s a bit of a shove it to the world style record.. Come on.. Let’s take on the preachers! This is the workings of Tamara Schlesinger from 6 Day Riot. But hey google can tell you that. We first played her on Episode 27 when the new album seemed just a glimmer in the distant future.. Well we are now here! Next week this song will be released officially and after a successful pledge music campaign the album will follow soon. Plus if you check out her facebook you can a lovely bob hair cut that Malka’s little’un did for her on mother’s day. Bless.

I’ve had this song in my head all this week! It’s not new.. We played it a while ago. But it’s been rattling around and now it can rattle in your ears too!
RAINES – GHOSTS
Word of warning. Don’t listen to this if you’re in a vulnerable state… ‘Oh the ghosts that float, float around us.. How they turned all our dreams into dust’ Is just one of the lines that the Liverpudlian singer haunting lays over a Coldplay style backing. RAINES released this track as his debut and really there’s no better words to describe the project, than his own: ‘It’s about love and loss, but also the idea that these feelings don’t stop just because a relationship does.’
Howard - Falling
Forming part of a new collective of bands with overtly human names.. Such as Dave, Fred, Tara.. I now bring you Howard! (Other bands are made up. Howard is very real) This is some of the more unique sounds I have heard for a while. Describing themselves as Folktronica there is too much going on in this record to even begin unpicking it. The subject is a little melancholy, falling, sliding down into big drum rhythms as the track draws to a close. If you like this then listen to his album ‘Religion’ on Spotify now. (I’m halfway through)

Compny - Lovers
This is like a musical mojito.. Perfect to enjoy as the spring draws in and, although cliched, there’s so many refreshing notes you can’t help but come back for a few more sips. COMPNY came onto the scene in 2014 with their track ‘Begging me To Come Back’. When that came out we knew nothing about them, other than their disregard for vowels. They choose anonymity and let the music do the talking…. With this release.. Not much has changed. After a bit of digging I can only tell you they’re from Brighton. That’s all! Still, this is their first release of 2015 and with music of this quality they won’t remain in the shadows for long!

Jack + Eliza
I like this duo. Mainly because I think Jack has a fantastic name.. Oh and their music has this dreamy charm that wiggles it’s way deep into my brain! This track is their first of 2015 and hints towards a debut album, expected soon. As I listen I’m trying to work out what it is about Jack and Eliza that connects so well and for me it’s the simplicity. Fuzzy guitars and intertwined harmonies brings this dreamy, warm pop sound. Interesting to note it was produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, however the charm is how the pair work together. I’d love to see their process in the studio. This year is shaping up nicely. A few gigs have been booked in London, plus they’re playing at Whole Foods at SXSW! (I LOVE that store!)

FLOR - Ocean
I have so much love for this tune and this artist. The crisp, funky rhythm travels through the track and deep into your body. I’m starting to hear more and more about Flor, the Oregon based musician. Recently releasing their debut EP, it seems a crime this track is listed for free DL.
MADDEE - Blind Eyes
Light a candle.. Run a deep bath.. Maybe with Lavender extract? And start your playlist with this blinding record from MADDEE, a 16 year old songwriter from Toronto. This piece is so chilled there should be a heavy machinery warning with it. I’m struggling to work out how the relationship works between her and a chap called Harrison, who creates bright and chirpy electro beats which match up to MADDEE’s surreal sound. Whatever it may be this track feels as smooth as baby’s backend. I presume.

LANKS - Hold Me Closer
Ladies and gentleman.. Welcome to the inner soul of Aussie musician Will Cuming. Last year we had the spacey and calming Green Light and now here he is with his first release of 2015. This track is gorgeous, there’s such a tenderness to his vocal and then this shift in sound towards the end takes it to a new level. It’s kinda hard to place into a genre with indie notes and electronic squelches, however the connection of your heart to the track is what really makes this exceptional.
Cold Courage - Her
Are my ears right.. Is that a marimba? They’re a thing right.. and not just an iphone ringtone. This is the work of a 23 year old from Greenwich in London and for me listening to this as I type away here.. It’s one of those songs that burrows into your head and allows you to think and reflect upon life. We’re getting deep now but really all that in my head is the remorse of last nights kebab. He creates tracks through sampling all sorts of different sounds..Youtube Vids, Memos and odd vinyls. Run a bath and listen up.
The Pylons - May
Here’s a jaunty little number from Lincoln based band The Pylons - released as part of their Midlands EP which is due soon. There’s an optimism to the sound of the track with cheery brass and sparky guitars… But I do wonder what on earth is going to happen when he reaches May? Oh when you listen wait till about halfway through where the line goes ‘I taught you how to clap’ followed by a clap. Get involved!

FELIN - Revolt
Oh. Nearly took my eye out with this one! Its loud, its brash, it’s a bit of rock and its just what I needed on a hungover evening! This is the only track knocking around by Felin at the moment but its a project thats planned to grow more and more. Speaking to Radar Magazing lead singer Elin said: ‘Felin is not just a music project but a collaboration between me, Elin Blom, as the artist and songwriter and photographer and creative director Fredrik Etoall. Together we have developed it more as an art project where one artist meets another. I’m the stage artist Felin and Fredrik is the visual artist and the secret band member. It’s been a good week for bands releasing new tracks.. I first heard of Tongues from a few blogs I read and this track started to appear on Soundcloud. Its a synthed up slice of heaven and lyrically there’s one remark that is swirling round my head ‘My soul, it’s the only thing I own, I guard it with my mind.’ I just ponder that… Connects with me. Nite Swim - Pool Party
Silky smooth huh? I can’t tell you much about this group.. Because I don’t know much about them! There really isn’t a lot around online yet and I emphasis the YET.. because we’ve only heard 1 track so far. Its got a refreshing feel and electro R’n’B sounds that could well be a late night dip!
Alfie Conor - Stranger
Maaaaaaan! This is a great track, so gentle and smooth yet so emotive. I first stumbled across Alfie Conor a couple of years back whilst studying in Leeds and played him on my student radio show. He’s put this track through a jazzy-up-ifyer and has created a weird RnB style section.. He’s a bright talent and has been picked up by some BIG radio stations and DIY blog as well. Watch this space!

Forebear - North Korea and the Five Stages of Grief
I feel like we may be getting a tad political on the show. I don’t want to publish this track and then have a huge internet black-out. I think from the off you get the tone of this record.. The confused / slightly upset sound of the cello brings an uncertainty and the tone continues throughout the track. Forebear are American.. From LA to be precise and this comes from their recent EP titled Forebear.

Can I make an addition to this song? Can we include Cheese on the list? Cigarettes, Wine and Cheese. That sounds good. This is taken from Low Cut High Tops latest EP called The Cuts and its rather enchanting. The voice kinda draws me in and the whole record has this jolly overall sound.. Although cigarettes and wine.. That leads to one thing and it ain’t jolly. Behave kids.

Harry Edwards - How I Learnt to Love the Blonde
I don’t really like to go into comparisons about artists but when you hear this by Harry Edwards its a bit like a weird cross over between FKA Twigs and James Blake. Its that atmospheric music that has so many intricate layers you know its more than just another track. Equally enchanting is Harry’s soundcloud which features a classical piano piece called Winter No.3. Recently getting national radio play and due to release a new song very soon!

HART - Anchors
We’re all a bit melancholy on this week’s show. ‘And I’ll love you in the same way I used to’ God that’s a lyric that resonates around everyone’s brain isn’t it? The more I think about the more this track grows in meaning. ‘Keep you in my head’ now comes from the lead singer Daniel Pattison mouth. Right I’m stopping the write up before it gets to me.

Ed Ling - Swimmers
I could listen to that twangy start over and over again.. Ed Ling is a singer from London who has embarked on the rocky road of recording his debut album. So far a few tracks have surfaced on his soundcloud including Blindfolded Lost - Which has a soft and gentle feel to the track but a slight turmoil to the meaning behind it. What I like about Ed is he’s making music for himself. In his bio he says he struggled to find a specific genre, then tried mashing up all the music he likes to listen to. Hey presto.. Ed Ling is born.

Over the year it’s grown and grown with their stunning sunny summers day vibe. You can just imagine rolling around to festival season in 2015 and have these guys blaring out across some soggy fields in Somerset. One of my picks and bands of the year without doubt!

There single S W I M was my first introduction to them after it was featured on Brighton Music Blog. It’s outrageously chirpy! Since the summer it’s clocked more than 700,000 soundcloud plays! Facebook likes.. over 9,000. Been a good year.. A fine vintage.
04 Gengahr - Powder https://www.facebook.com/gengahrband This band is one of my main tip offs for 2015. Announced they’re touring with Alt- J on the european circuit. Its going to be a big year!
04 (Again… I cocked up the numbers) Silent Noise Parade - Fears https://www.facebook.com/silentnoiseparade When you look back over the tracks of the year you kind of need a song like this to be the soundtrack. It’s the perfect backing to a montage looking back on things. Another epic sound record with a pumping rhythm. Irish group.
03 Lapsley - Station https://www.facebook.com/LapsleyMusic You will have heard of this lady by now! Things have taken off for her a little and I’d like to say that was after she was featured on the show. Realistically her talent and ability to write stunning music like no one else has managed to do that!

I’m a seriously big fan of this brother and sister team from my home of Gloucestershire. This song has it all.. A great sound, the vocals are fab and the sound is mouth watering. I’ve had the pleasure to see them twice this year. Watch this space!
One Bomb - Good Times Roll http://www.facebook.com/onebombmusic Fell for this group in the summer after seeing them rip up the BBC Introducing tent at Glastonbury Festival. They’re sound is very fresh, quite dancy. And each track offers something new to the mix.
Kent Odessa - Physical Genius https://www.facebook.com/kent.odessa Just leaning on the the right side of funky! And the breakdown towards the end is something to withhold. Just on clicking play the sound pumps from your speakers.. It explodes into centre of you.
Sykes - Anybody Out There Is there anybody out there? Hello? Well if you are around then stick this on and have it up loud! For me the vocals draw me in and make it a wonderful sounding record. Plus it’s pretty chilled too.
Habitats - Peace of Mind http://facebook.com/HabitatsMusic1 Its unashamed indie pop and I love it! This group always sounds like your speakers are bursting into life and are playing their merry tune with a smile of their face. Its one of my favourite tracks I’ve stumbled across all year.
Owen Duff - The Magic Mountain http://www.facebook.com/owenduffmusic This is like 3 songs in one! To be honest at over 7 minutes long you’d expect it to be but thats one thing I love about having no rules in this podcast.. I can play nice and long songs! This is a fab tune.. Sit back and enjoy.
Slowwkid - The Storm https://www.facebook.com/slowwkid/timeline Another genre defying track that I must admit I looked over until I listened through all of the tracks i’ve played. It’s a bit James Blake. What’s more startling is how many tracks this chap seems to be able to dish out. Just check his soundcloud for more!
Call Me - Disclosed https://www.facebook.com/c4llme/timeline Such a beautifully produced record with the drums at the start setting the scene and the vocals sculpting an emotional landscape. They’re another band from Sweden and by god theres good music around there at the moment. Its been included in a few lists of tips for 2015. It in there with my tracks of the year!

Rén - Time Listening through to every band on the show this week - she had to start it off. Well written, catchy vocals. It’ll stay in your head all through the week… And it’s only a debut single! On FB it says ‘I create music to move your soul..and hips and stuff.’ You’ve moved all my stuff. FUNKKKY!
Sheer Khan - Molly This record entices you from the beginning. The beat grabs you and then that gruff, unique vocal kicks in. It’s music that’s good for the soul! They’re an Aussie band, active since 2012 and this is described as ‘Frisky, Psych-Blues’. Whatever that means.
JUDY - Enjoy Great contrast between the summery sounding start with the don’t give a shit vocal. It’s pop music but flaming fab.. I wish I could think of a witty simile to write here.. I can’t say much about this band because they’re French. I can’t read what it says on facebook.
Daisy Victoria - Another Sky This record kind of goes everywhere.. It doesn’t follow any set pattern with different rhythms.. different sounds.. It’s more like theatre than a song. London in Stereo said ‘If PJ Harvey and Kate Bush defied science and procreated, Daisy would be their love child” and that just about sums it up. Newest EP which is up for Free Download on Soundcloud.
Pip Mountjoy - Part I and II Its not often you find a track so tender and sweet that your brain starts to whizz through lost loves and reflects on the past. A wonderfully moving record from Pip who had been touring around the UK recently. If you like that you can’t buy it because she’s gone off to Indonesia for 3 weeks. Although if you wait till she comes back she’s hand sown all the CD cases.
Robyn Sherwell - Islander TIE TEAM. SUDDEN DEATH. Few great tunes last weeek, especially Novo Amor and Callow.. But relistening to some records.. This has something groovy about it!
Edward Holcroft - Helen of Troy What an amazing voice and sound created by this man. Its a deep, emotive record that builds more and more. If you’re a fan of this check out another artist call Tom Hickox!
CLICK HERE FOR ITUNES Syvia - Soon Love the grungey feel to this record. It has that driving rocky guitar but its combined with that unique vocal that comes across in a lot of Scandianvian Music. Watch this lot closely.. Debut album due out imminently.
Novo Amor - Callow I'm not a fan of these ones to watch lists that come out around this time of year.. But you know what.. This is one to watch! I know he's already quite established.. But every record Novo Amor releases.. Gets better and better!
Alma Elste - Heart Melter Just got a good poppy feel to it doesn’t it? You can hear that over and over again and not get bored of it. First proper release from this artist. New stuff on the way after Xmas but won’t be released until then.. SO you’ll need a different stocking filler. seg
GRAMMAR - Summer Skin Taken from this bands most recent EP. Real reflective feel to it.. and I’m in love with singers sweet voice. Plus the cheeky guitar riffs that fall away make it a great listen.
Little Blue Wolf - Clever Minds They way this record is put together gives it so much depth and meaning. The harmonies and sweetly song vocals can’t help but get inside your soul. This is from and EP she released earlier but I’ve just stumbled on it. New EP due to come out V soon and I’ll get it on the show.

Robyn Sherwell - Islander Every track in this week’s show feels special. Maybe its to do with the mood in my flat and the dimmer switch making it a bit more personal. This effort by Robyn is contender for my favourite! The crunch on those drums! I’m listening to it now as I type and it build and builds and gives more and more. Flipping great track. Bangs straight through and into you!! Great record, Great artists.. and great way to end the show.
Tara Priya - One Foot Out A real sassy and Jazzy treat to start the show off! It's a beautifully produced record with a charming rhythm and a bluesy reverbed up guitar. Expect big things from this lady! On the one to watch list :)

This is a really catchy tune! Part of a collection of releases from Meanwhile who is a fab electronic producer. You can currently catch him performing with La Roux across the country!
SOPHRONIE - In This Lane https://www.facebook.com/Sophroniemusic I saw this artists performing in Stroud a few nights ago and she had the one thing that all brilliant artists need.. The ability to bring a crowded room to silence as they hang on every note. She's making beautiful records and as she's still young there's plenty to watch out for in the future!
Figures in Motion - Hostage These guys are French. Most of their details are in French. Think Muse and you'll like this! Astronauts - Only Son Wonderfully relaxed song! Came out a month ago with this chaps new EP. He’s super talented so check out his previous releases. Not the first time he's featured on the show but every time he comes back with better and better records.
KAPITALS - Kerosene Booom! I like this. I needed this to get me going on a chilly winters day! It's got a rocky edge and a libertines style sound. Perfect when you need jigging up!

Letts - Charles De Gaulle Has Lou Reed been returned? There’s only so much that words can say.. And to be honest there's not much I can put to do this justice. It's a stunning record which builds and builds to something spectacular.
Gdansk - Mariners Cross This has a lovely ambient sound to it. The vocals and the synth wash over you to create pure bliss! From their first EP called EP1..Came out in June.. New one coming out later this month!
YURS - Race It’s poppy It’s cheery It’s a debut release. It’s the start of things to come!
RAYE. - Hotbox Shut your eyes and fall into this record! Such a strong sense of emotion in this song.. London Producer.. Released that 2 weeks ago and another track called NEED ME last month. Both excellent!
Plenty Wild - Heaven Knows Indie-folk from LDN - This is from their new EP. Came out on the 7th! This track it the last and it has everything... Talk about lobbing the kitchen sink at a record! Catch them playing at the Troubadour in LDN on the 20th.

Gdansk - Atlas There's a real melancholic feel to it.. But in a good way.. You know what I mean? Then it builds and builds - I imagine being sat at a table head in hands listening to it.. then someone coming over with a steaming brew and it all getting better. New EP.. called EP 2. Due out on the 25th of November!
Will Bloomfield - Peggle Bit of a xmas feel to this but it's beautiful. As is everything that Will seems to pen! Check this and the rest of his solo compositions out!
Beach Youth – Days What a great and loud way to start off the show! You know I’m a sucker for indie pop and this week’s podcast probably shows that more than most. This guys are producing it so well and it’ll blow away any cobwebs!
Fictonian – Double Negative I’m so pleased to have stumbled across this artist. We’ll hear another from him late on but this track is a wonderfully chilled out record.. Perfect for the end of the day!
Brave Shores – Dancing Underwater Another electro, indie pop masterpiece! This has a retro and reflective-y feel to it. I could never get bored of it!
Lisa Alma – Fine A seductive and sultry sounding record. It’s another Scandinavian artist.. What is it about that region??!

Spelles – Bird in a Cage Woooo ooo ah ohhhh. This is very catchy! It’s the sort of thing that wouldn’t be out of place on any radio station!

AZURA - Smoke This song has everything. Right from the start it grabs you.. Amazing production and a beautifully chilled out track. Worst thing about it though.. the artist is only 17. Gulp. Well I need to take a long hard look at myself.
HUNTAR - Bitter My notes say.. Like James Vincent Mcmorrow without the annoying ulta sonic parts. Yeh its exactly that! Mellow, emotive.. You'll connect with it straight away.
SEGO - Wicket Youth Little preview to these guy's EP which is out over the next week. This song has everything. If you like JAWS or Peace check out Sego..
INDIA ELECTRIC CO. - Beirut This is a lovely and yet bizarre folk record. Bit of a gypsy twist to it too but it has an ace feel to it. Their album is coming out in December and if they go this way its something to look forward to!
DIAMOND THUG - What I Think I know I could listen to this over and over again! The vocals are like a hug in a mug. This band from South Africa can and will go places. Ace production too
GRYFF - Sunsets Really poppy track from Gryff. He's annoyed me.. He said he's releasing this just in time for summer.. (he's Australian) Yeh. I've had to take off all my gloves to be able to type this. God love winter.

AZURA - Drop the Game She started the podcast off.. She's an amazingly talented woman. This song had a sharp end to it so I put some reverb on it. She sounds like a technical geek too.. The way she feels the speaker is impressive!
