Alabama had one of its first tests this past Saturday and they emerged with flying colors from Wisconsin's Camp Randall stadium. The 42-10 win was a big step forward for this football team, and showed tantalizing glimpses of what could be on the horizon. Yes, the Badgers have more in common with a tomato can than a college football team, but going on the road against a P2 school is never an easy task. Alabama won a game against USF to the tune of 42-16, but there will need to be a crowdfunding campaign for some new feet after the team collectively shot them off for the majority of the contest. Penalties, fumbles, and miserably poor offensive line play were the orders of the day for the Tide until they put it together at the end of the game. A twenty-eight point explosion later, the final score looks more defensible. There were many negatives but also a handful of positives from the game. We talk about those, as well as dig into Wisconsin as Alabama goes up to their house for a visit next Saturday. Whew. Cardiac Alabama tried everything it could to lose the Iron Bowl in a mistake filled mess of a game, and it didn't matter. A 4th and 31 bomb to Isaiah Bond forestalled a massive upset, and set up a brawl in Atlanta between Bama and Georgia. We relive the Iron Bowl and add a healthy dollop of UGA discussion. Make no mistake. These are the two best teams in the country squaring off for the SEC title game. Whew. In what was generally thought to have been a bizarrely difficult contest due to circumstances outside of the Crimson Tide's control, Alabama showed up, and annihilated a good Kentucky team this past Saturday. A sleepy 11 AM kick coming off of an emotional game against LSU was no match for the Crimson Tide's execution on both sides of the ball. Even counting a late, long rush, Alabama held Kentucky to 250 total yards while racking up almost 450. More importantly, the team jumped all over the Wildcats and put together its second complete game in a row. A tasty cupcake is up next, and then a trip down to the Voodoo Hellhole in West Georgia for a tiff against a suddenly decent-ish Auburn squad. The Alabama Crimson Tide scored a win, and virtually clinched the SEC West, against the LSU Tigers this past Saturday. Defense came optional for large swaths of the game, but the Tide found a way. While the Tide beat the Arkansas Razorbacks this past Saturday, the performance did not inspire confidence ahead of a major revenge game against Tennessee. Is this what Alabama is? Major test: passed. The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station. It was a physical rockfight throughout, and Alabama may have found another pitch in their offensive repertoire. The defense remains wonderful as well. After a tough couple of road games, Alabama gets to return to the friendly confines of Bryant-Denny for homecoming against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Hogs are 2-4, and worse than their record indicates, so there should be some great growth opportunities as the Tide continue to evolve toward a finish product. It was a good weekend for the Alabama Crimson Tide. As road teams struggled across college football, Alabama came out and took care of business in Starkville against Mississippi State. That win was a defensive tour de force, and the offense was able to stitch together enough consistent success to put up 40 points. The challenge steps way up this weekend against Texas A&M in College Station, though. The math and statistics of this game do not paint a rosy picture for the Crimson Tide, and we discuss what needs to happen for the Tide to pull out a win. Tale of two halves for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The first half was same song, different verse for the 2023 Alabama Crimson Tide. The second half, though, was impressive. The defense clamped down on an explosive Ole Miss offense, and the Alabama offense got some things figured out en route to a 24-10 total team win. If Alabama sustains that level of offensive efficiency, they will be in the ballpark of a top-20 offense nationwide, and the defensive performance would be in the top 5. The question, though, is whether the second half against the Rebels was the exception, or if it will be the rule moving forward. Two weeks of poor performance have put a tremendous dent in the Alabama Crimson Tide football season. Quarterback is a problem, and it isn't as easy as "insert Milroe back in the lineup." In fact, Milroe would make the problem several orders of magnitude worse given a deeper film review of his performance against the Longhorns. The offensive line fell off a cliff against USF and until they improve the QB position is a sideshow. The Alabama Crimson Tide started off with a stunning win over MTSU last Saturday. The surprise wasn't in the victory itself, but in how easy it appeared on both sides of the ball. The offense was crisp and efficient while the defense was completely smothering. That does inspire confidence heading into a big game against Texas, but the team still needs to get punched in the mouth to see how they respond. College football is back. Games happened between the white lines. Alabama took care of business with an emphatic 55-0 destruction of a lesser opponent. Yes, it was only Utah St, but elite teams should wreck poorer teams when they square off. Now comes a visit to Austin, Texas to play the Fighting Steve Sarkisians. While the Longhorns have a great recruiting class, and some hope that they've shored up some questions along the lines of scrimmage, there are still some major deficiencies that Alabama should be able to leverage throughout the upcoming tussle. Alabama completed an undefeated SEC regular season with a 52-3 drubbing of the Arkansas Razorbacks. The injury to Christian Harris remains the only small black mark from the game, and the team was getting rested and ready why Florida suffered an upset at the hands of a depleted LSU Tigers team. In the most glib way possible, this past Saturday sucked. What should have been a great team win where every phase played at a high level in dismantling a decent Mississippi State team turned into a thing straight out of Alabama fan nightmares when Tua Tagovailoa went down with a season ending injury. Donald Trump will be there, and Twitter will scream about hillbilly Alabama and other nonsense. A fine week it was for the Crimson Tide. The 49-7 win over the USM Golden Eagles was the best game the team has played thus far, even if it was little more than a cupcake. The offense did what it does, and the defense put the brakes on a solid offensive football team. True freshman were all over the field making plays, particularly Shane Lee and Christian Harris. Alabama took one on the chin a few weeks ago down in Santa Clara, and since we have been absent, we react to that. For the stats nerd, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. There were masked problems, though, throughout the season and Nick Saban is now moving to address those with his staff changeover. We give our take on where we see the last few hires slotting in, and try to explain why some of the new pieces failed to connect to Nick and the Process. The Georgia Bulldogs pushed the Alabama Crimson Tide to the brink in the SEC Championship, but the back up quarterback again emerged to lead the Tide to a win. Last time, it was Second-And-Twenty-Six. This time, it was Jalen stepping in during a wild 4th quarter to win the game for Alabama. In made-for-Hollywood drama, the Tide again beat the Bulldogs. The demons were exorcised against the Auburn Tigers to the tune of a 52-21 win this past Saturday. With the regular season over with, Alabama now has a date with the Georgia Bulldogs with a championship on the line. Win and a playoff berth is guaranteed. A-Day has come and gone, and Jalen Hurts missed a golden opportunity to push himself forward as the starting quarterback for the team next season. Part of the problem was a really good defensive front that the Bama offensive line had to contend with this past weekend. Good season overall for the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball group. A thrilling few wins, and a buzzsaw of a squad in Villanova finished the season up for the team. No, Avery Johnson should not get fired. This has been a week of extremes for the Crimson Tide. A dominating 48-0 win over Kent State on the field represents Alabama's most complete game of the season thus far. Whew. BAMS's collective hearts are still racing from the 48-43 marathon in Oxford this past Saturday. A win is a win, though, and the Tide had to play a 60 minute game to secure theirs. It's a pretty straightforward situation for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
